Yes!! I got it. I've been working on a big canvas putting paint and marks on and digging into it and
putting leveling gel on it and doing so much to it that it is too much. I have to stop putting garage sale items all over it. There is no focus, no clarity. It's very confusing with a lot of great sections but they don't connect as a whole piece. They are partitioned! Whoa! No wonder I didn't know where I was going with the painting, multiple layers and multiple disappointments. Thank you, NIck.

Thanks Nicholas for your generosity in sharing your knowledge and experience. There are many great artists who run courses online but few who can teach it so well. It is rare to find a teacher who can explain in such an elegant manner how to engage with the process of art making in such an authentic way. Regards from Ireland

I think many of us understand intellectually to tell one and only one story. Problem is we get « held hostage and willingly, » by minutiae!!! So frustrating All of a sudden you stand back and it’s chatter about nothing

Thomas, you da juice! I'm so happy I found you. Tell us anything. Even if you spill a bucket of paint on a half-finished canvas, you will probably use your mistake to teach us something new, like the Rule of 21. And, please critique viewers' paintings again using Photoshop. You are the one person who can teach people like me how to build a better design. And, design is my Achilles Heel. You know the words to say. You know how to make a color example stick in my mind. You da juice. You da man. Keep dat juice flowing!

Oops! My husband's cousin looks just like you. I'm sorry I called you Thomas instead of Nicholas. I hope I have your name right this time. I CANNOT EDIT on my Android, so maybe you can correct your name in my comment above. PS The cousin is named Paul, so I just put that part in as a bit of a joke. I'm old. I'm allowed to be quirky. I'll write your name 100 times.

Colour is my biggest challenge in my work. I am beginning to “get it” ... not 100% yet 🧐

Happy to see you again on UA-cam. Getting more cues to make better art. I’ve been experimenting with many mediums on multiple surfaces and having a good time playing and getting momentum finally! Thanks for the cues! Have a great week!

I appreciate what you’re saying, and it makes sense. BUT your example didn’t reflect the idea because it still looks like a garage sale.

I was thinking selling my Art in a garage sale. This way people get to know I am an Artist.
