I once bought an entire crate (20 pounds) of peaches for $5 at a farmers market in the last five minutes. They actually called me over and i took those home and stewed and canned them. Peaches for months. Family of 4. We shared with others too.
I love your videos, they are so fun and the editing is great. I’m shocked you don’t have a million subscribers by now with the quality of your videos. Glad I found you 😊
Thank you so much, honey! I’m so blessed by your comment and I’m glad you found me too 🙏🏽 Thanks for your support, and please share these videos so more people can see. Cheering you on, on your health journey.
I loved this video. So much information and so important to remind people that choosing Whole Foods, organic or not, is the important part. I think people forget that organic is typically a mark of privilege and that depending on where you live, these organic products could be even higher priced. These are systemic issues in our society and no one should feel guilty for buying what they can afford.
Thank you, Tyler! Couldn’t agree more-no one should feel guilty for buying what they can afford. It’s about making the best choice with what one has. I wish the grace your shared would be understood by everyone.
I offered to work for one of the vendors at the farmers market I had free veggies an fruit all summer, all I had to do is help pick once a week when they were short a worker. I had so many veggies I was able to put away veggies for the winter from the stuff they were not able to sell because it was too "rough" to sell. I have done this now for 3-4years with the same vendor.
I will never go vegan I require too much protein BuT I wanna cut my meat consumption as much as I can and eat way more veggies and fruit .and it’s just me and hubby really. Thanks for this
Wow! I just happened to stumble upon your channel and am so happy I did! You have such an engaging personality and give such sound advice. I’m wfpb x2.5 yrs and was vegetarian before that for 4 yrs. And definitely consider myself still a newbie. Will definitely be subscribing and looking out for your videos!
If you do your research about organic, you'll find they still spray chemicals on them. They just have a smaller list of what they are allowed to spray on.
Mel!! This is supper helpful. Can you do a video on meal planning and how you do it for a family of five? Meal planning/prepping is challenging for me as a working woman. I’ve meal planned a couple of times but the prepping took the entire Sunday. 😫😫😫 This was a super dissatisfy.
Yep, same here. My meal prepping takes a whole Sunday. So, I'm thinking about trying to make 3 meals on Sunday and when I've eaten the second meal fit prep for 3 more meals on the next available night. But also looking forward to "Mel's" ideas.
If you on a extreme budget look into food pantries..yes I said food pantry for stock up and stretching the 💵💶💷💲's. Learn how to canning up extra items, dehydrated items, freeze dry bulk or extra items. I'm an East Texas country woman and I have learn to go back like my grandmothers etc ..to help myself in this time in life. My plant based lifestyle is a journey of being healthy in body and mind. Nevertheless, thank you for the tips of stretching on a budget. New subscriber and thank you🌱💕💕💕
I'm screwed!! I hear it so often beans/legumes should be the hot staple in your pantry.. uuuuM, so will my sheet, pants and couch, ect, be hot if my protein consumption revolves around the staple items. 🧐 What is a girl with a sensitive tummy and immune compromised system to do?! 🤦🏽♀️
Start very small (even with one bean every few days if you have to), and slowly increase it over time to allow your gut bacteria to adjust to it. If still having issues, could be a leaky gut issue which needs looking at by a professional or look for another doctor/nutritionist if the one you have already consulted has not helped. A genetic intolerance to it is possible though extremely unlikely. Those are just general steps of approach, but not specific advice particular to you. Good luck and I hope you can address the issue, because beans and other legumes have so many healthy phytonutrients and other anti-cancer properties that it would be a shame to go without.

Cruciferous vegetables don't have to be organic

I understand honey. You know your body best! Do what you can, knowing that even a little plant-based can go a long way 💜
