For the part at the end of the video, I would agree that the way shooters are now are different from when Halo was at its peak. Nowadays it is all about more difficult aim mechanics and such. Halo is an arena shooter so the actual skill gap comes in with map/power weapon/vehicle control. Since TTKs are generally higher in this game its also not as "I have a faster reaction time than you so I win" game like cod or destiny now

@luanandradegaetti8784 the Matchmaking in mcc is actually bad. Its not the same as xbox matchmaking. Purposely finds ways to make you suffer rather than balanced lobbies
There's some kind of charm behind Halo's toxicity, like something pure from back in the day when open lobbies were just bonding experiences over free trash-talking for hours.
It was wonderful. Getting ddosed, pissing off clans. “1v5 me kid”messages. I even played the scp femur breaker in the vc while top fragging. Ah good times
@@SirDimetriousBy the way keyboard and mouse get barely any aim assist whatsoever but controller gets quite a lot, so aiming on controller on halo infinite is by far easier than on mouse and keyboard. Mouse and keyboard really only has a deceleration, where aiming on someone slightly reduces the sensitivity to make it easier to track, which gives a slight amount of aim assist. Also while I partially agree about the point of improving, halo isn't just about aiming and killing normally it's about map knowledge, knowing where certain items spawn and how long until they will respawn, as well as overall other tactics such as ninjering.
Glad you enjoyed infinite, it can be quite a fun game, but given its’ arena shooter nature what little skill wall / learning curve there is comes more from map knowledge, intricate movement mechanics etc. I am old by comparison to most that play halo / arena shooters now. So I prefer the older halo titles, due to a strong mix of heavy nostalgia, and the older games being genuinely more difficult (having more noticeable skill gaps, less skill-based matchmaking, pacing is important, some game-modes mean not immediately diving in etc). I’m also a lot slower than I once was - because I’m old lol - and I don’t have the spare time to play as much as I do, so I find infinite’s hyper fast paced, always ‘ranked’ multiplayer tiring and disengaging. For those that liked the look of Halo Infinite, I can strongly recommend The Master Chief Collection. It’s all the classic mainline halo games stuffed into one, with their classic game engines & multiplayers, with mod support and active servers etc. And during sales it can go down to ~ $5 for the whole thing, remasters, dlcs and all
Halo was good because of the gameplay 12 years ago but that wasn’t the only thing, it was the community. For some reason the people 12 years ago to me felt so tame and just fun to play with but not only that, the sheer creativity the community had when it came to custom games. That’s what made halo shine to me because instead of a COD lobby, you can nust have a normal conversation (not nowadays obviously).
I've been playing Halo since 2001 and the competive lobbies in H2 and H3 made CoD look tame. Custom games and social modes is where you would find the chill people.
For what was said at the end of the video: I completely agree on this. As someone who grew up playing the game, I never got the experience as jumping in as a new player, but I can see it from that angle. Halo has always been a comfort game for me. Something that I can simply hop on for a few hours, have fun, and carry on. While there is somewhat of a skill gap, it’s not focused around the individual, but rather the team as a whole. Which makes having friends to play with a cornerstone of the game.

Glad you talked about your aiming at the end of the video cause I was really impressed how insane your Bandit aim was considering you barely play Halo.
Most people have no issue with firing the bandit evo. The issue is comparing it to the BR. Both of which were incredibly easy compared to classic Halo's, but the actual problems with the Bandit Evo, and Halo Infinite in general, is also the amount of assistance verses these classic entries. Halo should have went into the direction of mirroring classic assistance, not "adding more" because the community was upset they couldn't aim. Halo Infinite during the Flight Tests had less aim assist across the board than today, for example. And I'm just talking controller. Even keyboard & mouse has aim assist now, which is just...horrible. A lot of this is because the Halo Community, no not the competitive community, truly have this ironic belief that Halo was "never a competitive game" and that Halo never had "ranked/competitive" matchmaking until Halo 5.

I think SirD came into halo with already very good mnk aim because everyone I know struggles a lot with the aim and shield system when they first started off
Love your editing style and really liked the video. I strongly disagree with some of your final thoughts regarding the game (Halo Infinite) needing to be harder like Overwatch and CS:GO. 15+ year Halo veteran speaking: Halo Infinite is the hardest Halo game to aim in compared to ALL the previous Halo titles BY FAR. 343i struck an incredible balance between the game being too easy and the game being too hard aiming-wise. Halo has always been a movement-based shooter. Unlike CS:GO and Valorant, you aren't punished for moving while shooting. This combined with the far more precise movement of 360 degrees on a controller thumbstick as opposed to a WASD keyboard makes the game a unique blend of both movement and aiming. Unlike games like COD and Apex where you slow down while aiming down sights, Halo allows you to move at full speed. It's a "movement based shooter" with a recent example of a similar game being Splitgate. To summarize: I think Halo isn't less popular than these other games because of "too easy" gameplay. It's due to poor launches and even worse support AFTER launch that has "killed" the franchise. I still play Halo to this very day and hope to play for many years to come. Great video. Cheers. 😄
This is so nice. Destiny used to be my favorite game, and Daddy D was my favorite UA-camrc far and away. But as Bungie just continued to disrespect it’s community, and recycle content, I forced myself to uninstall and stay away from Destiny content. Didn’t realize how much I missed your gameplay and videos.
The first shooter I got to play consistently was Halo Reach and I still love playing it on PC in MCC. But I’ve been playing a lot of Infinite recently and honestly, I really love it. There’s some changes I don’t love, just in terms of certain weapons being different and maybe just nostalgia factor lost due to no classic shotgun or DMR, but everything else is just fun. It’s one of the few shooters you can just play and enjoy and mess around in and not be frustrated even when you are doing not the greatest in game. I see hate about infinite and I’m not really sure why. Maybe it’s the campaign, which I haven’t played, and that would be understandable cause halo has always been very story driven. However, the fact that the multiplayer is free, arcadey, has fun and weird game modes, fairly accessible to anyone of any experience level, and the rest just makes it really great. Is it the best shooter? No, definitely not, nothing will ever dethrone Titanfall 2. But is it good and has it had consistent updates, content additions, and support? Yep and the game has improved since release, both of which is more than you can say for a majority of other “AAA” shooters for the last few years. Halo Infinite gets good points in my book. Also, the assault rifle is actually viable in multiplayer now which is a great QoL upgrade for standard halo game modes.
The anger in Halo Infinite is whack. I had a game of competitive extraction where we were winning for the entire game by a lot, only lost 1 round, and finished the game in like 3 minutes, but a teammate was still on the mic yelling at us the whole game. He called me dog sh*t because I didn't want to straightline the objective when we were 3 down and the whole enemy team was on it. He calls us all sh*t while we're looking at the victory screen. I was too confused to even be mad
That's the one side of communication that is lost between the community and the player. Halo is inherently, and always had been since 2004, a very competitive game in matchmaking. Back in Halo 2 and Halo 3, the meme of '1v1' was created within Halo; If your teammate or opponent pissed you off, it'll go to 1v1, where you trash talk on mics in a lobby and play them on lockout, midship, guardian, the pit. Imagine for a second that you heard the enemy talking too, and you can hear them during these periods of time. Your teammate would no longer be flipping directly out on you on mic, they would be at the opposing team. Halo Infinite is, what I call, anti-competitive in it's social experience. It tries to remove the capability of you "competing with the opponent" so you are more likely to take "everything light hearted and less serious". While forgetting the roots of Halo, the Halo Community believes that it "is what started Halo" (because many of them started with Halo Reach & Halo 4). They disliked when the enemy was trash talking them in even Halo 5, and they preferred when no one would, which leads to that exact scenario. Teammate, frustrated at the game, takes out their anger on you (the other teammate). When, in reality, if there was simply a cross-enemy communication like in the classic games, this likely wouldn't be the case.
I'm only getting back into infinite with my friends so idk if the experience is the same yet, but the Bungie games didn't have a big skill gap where you need to learn how to get better and then you get hooked on that feeling, it never felt that way for me at least. And Infinite has that same thing it's easy to get good and to just enjoy the game. What was always so much fun was the friends you would make, the game modes, maps and custom games even. It's the amount of things you can still do after getting bored of always playing the same playlist. When I'm alone, the most fun I have with infinite is fiesta, it's so stupidly enjoyable. I'm also not a fan of recent fps games much they all seem to lean into competitive sweatiness a lot, which is not my cup of coffee, if you want a laid back shooter Halo is always there and when you're tired of where Inifinite kinda fails, mcc is still playable and a lot of fun as well! Was really fun to watch this video

Cheers. 😄
this video is so fucking chaotic lmfao
Actual insanity
SIRD AND ANY GAME WOULD GO HARD
