Fun fact: In the scene where Robin has cream on his face, it was not in the script for the cream to fall into the cups, the hot lights in the studio caused the cream to start to melt and accidentally start to fall off his face. That performance was improvised by him.
@@anitaheartkey6315 It was because of his passing that I finally took my depression more seriously. I've been dealing with it since I was 12 (I'm 33 now), and I never took it seriously-- even when I self-harmed, because I had been conditioned by my parents and similar adults around me that I didn't have it because of the stigmatization of mental health they were brought up with. Even as the internet grew and became a integral source of research for me, and I learned the symptoms, I didn't want to believe it because I knew I could never convince my parents or doctors to take it seriously enough to do something. Hell, it wasn't until 2017 that I finally got a proper diagnosis of having Major Depressive Disorder, because my doctor *actually* listened to me instead of brushing off my concerns and blaming everything on my weight! When I learned Robin Williams took his own life, I was devastated and had the epiphany that if I didn't stop hiding my depression from myself as to not receive the ridicule of my family, I would end up just like him. I saw in an interview with Bradley Pierce when he was in Jumanji with Robin Williams, Robin would always check in on him when he had to wear the monkey prosthetics because he had just done Mrs. Doubtfire and knew how restrictive and uncomfortable it was and Bradley was only 8 or so so Robin really wanted to make sure he was ok and made sure the crew knew Bradley would need more breaks when filming those scenes.

As a 90s kid, Robin Williams and Jim Carrey were my heroes, and still are to this day. Nowadays, you, with your work, are my hero and make my day. Thank you for sharing your videos with the world and giving us a smile on our face. I’ve learned so much from your sfx videos and now I make my own creatures and found a great hobby to calm down and help with my anxiety. Thank you for being yourself, after all these years you’re still the same, sweet and bubbly person we all cherish and love. Greetings from germany xo
I was obsessed with Jim Carrey too growing up! The 90s wouldn’t have been the same without the two of them. & thank you so much your comment truly made my day 🥺 screenshot it so I can go back and read it whenever I need a pick up. You’re lovely ❤️❤️❤️
it's funny cuz my dad is canadian and LOOKED so much like jim carrey but i wanted robin williams (like many other kids) to actually be my dad. 27 years later, carrey is an antivaxxer and williams is dead
"it was a drive by fruiting" will forever be one of my fave lines in a movie ever. This was my fave movie as a kid and is still one of my tops. Robin Williams is such an amazing human and sorely missed ❤️
I remember finding out he died when I was younger and being so upset. I proclaimed him my favorite actor after watching Mrs. Doubtfire when I was like 8 and thinking back on what little me’s reaction would’ve been to finding out he took his own life made me really tear up. He was an amazing actor. Even that gorilla named Coco met him. She was so excited when she looked at a DVD with him on it and looked back up to realize it was him. He effected so many people, and even animals which is insane. May the legend rest in peace.
Mykie: "reading this makes me wanna cry" Me: *literally crying hearing it* Robin Williams has always been, and always will be my favorite person that has ever graced any tv and movie theatre . (I'm still crying btw)
Robin Williams wasn't trans. And its not up to you to say how a person feels about their identity. If someone feels that they're a woman, even without the parts, then so be it.
@@jacy9772 you're right it's not up to me it's up to God it's literally in the Bible men are men and women are women I didn't say they couldn't be whatever they want if a man wants to be a woman wants to be a man that's fine but don't expect me to go along with it and call a man a woman or a woman a man
When you read that quote describing Robin Williams I immediately started sobbing! His death was such a tragedy and it just goes to show that even the people that are seemingly the happiest are really struggling inside. 😭
My dad took my mom to see Mrs Doubtfire on their first date. Years later, when I was about 6 years old, they divorced. They remained friends though, and are incredible parents. I haven’t done it yet, but I have always wanted to get the quote “Just because they don’t love each other anymore doesn’t mean they don’t love you” tattooed on my body somewhere in their handwriting. That scene at the end has always resonated with me as I grew up. I miss Robin Williams so much as he played a very big role in my childhood. When he passed, I felt like I lost a childhood friend. Thank you for making me smile, Mykie!
Seeing someone passionate about their work and interests get the chance to review an amazing example of them is just so cathartic. Also, I cannot express how much I love Harvey Fiersteins voice.

mykie, talking about the lifecasts “it can be very hard to breathe” me, thinking I’m a genius: oh well just use the straws like some people do! mykie: so the straws are actually very dangerous and you should never do that,,, me: 😳
One of the things that always confused me is that Pierce’s character is allergic to pepper but instead of having an allergic reaction, he chokes. The problem is then fixed with a overly dramatic abdominal thrusts. He neither goes to the hospital for an allergic reaction that would still be having an effect or for the abdominal thrusts themselves because even with real ones they can cause internal damage that must be checked for
Allergic reactions are so rarely realistic in movies and even when the reaction itself is the way others react isn't. Case and point the Game Plan, the rock runs with his daughter to the hospital, but she'd die in that time without epipens. I know it's like movie magic and realism isn't necessary always, but knowing what would truly happen takes me out of the moment because I don't believe in what's happening anymore.
Its a movie. But yes allergic reactions arent always skin rashes it also causes his throat to close but it seemed he was more choking then having a real reaction
my favourite part of the whole movie is in the beginning when he's talking to mrs sellner and is doing impressions and he does an impression of a hotdog. i quote that and reenact that so often and have done ever since i first saw the movie
I think, I agree with Mykie... we should call Trans Men as Men and Trans Women as Women, since I believe personally that calling them Trans still says or denotes them not being one... Seperating them from being a Man or a Woman by adding another Gender Label instead of moving into the Male or Female Gender... I think by removing the Word "Trans" in front of Trans Man or Trans Woman, we start to include them into everything... Isn't equality about removing barriers that seperate us from others... We shouldn't Label others as, Man, Woman, Gay, Lesbian, Trans, etc. Those are Labels I think that keep us separated and segregated into groups... This is just what I think...
I totally get that. But a lot of people choose to go by those labels. They can help people, and forcing people to not have labels is the same as focusing labels onto someone. I don’t think there is one way to make people feel welcomed, we need to be open to how people choose to define themselves or don’t define themselves. But the labels trans and cis is important objectively because if your trans that means you have gender dysphoria and a lot of times that’s important for other people to know. So those labels for sure need to be an option and should be used with convent, but yes I feel like pushing labels on people (especially children) adds one more usually unnecessary step to happiness, when humans are complicated enough 💕
I'm so glad you did this one! The anniversary of Robin's passing was only a few days ago, this feels like a perfect little in memoriam for a truly wonderful man. Gosh I'm tearing up just from writing this! I don't think any celebrity is as widely loved and missed as he is (and ok Freddie Mercury too)
Mykie: most people don't have exposure to SFX makeup and the process. Me: has watched all 13 seasons of Face-off and am DESPERATELY waiting for her to react to it....... 😬
Mission Impossible, the original TV series. Had all those latex faces they would tear off on screen. Though they probably had a different actor play the face, so they only needed the latex for the latex removal scene.
That's exactly it: Robin Williams was the dad many of us growing up without a father figure always wanted. When he passed away, I cried - as if it was a personal loss even though I didn't know the man. This was the only time I've ever cried at the passing of a celebrity.
I love how Mykie just casually said "I reached out to V neil" like she's not literally a freaking legend and that's not crazy that she can just do that
Now I HAVE to watch it again. Robin Williams is an American treasure and a staple of my childhood. Will you do a whole 90's movies series of this? I can't think of any others at the moment but I'm sure they exist.
I showed it to my son a couple years ago. He loves it. After watching Mykies video I think I'll watch Mrs. Doubtfire tonight with my son. It's so funny. I try to watch a movie with my son every night to help calm him down for bed. This movie will.pronably keep him awake more but Oh well we love it.
Melissa Jacobson I couldn’t wait, I’m just watching the end of it now lol, I’ll just have to watch it again tomorrow. I do the same thing, a movie every evening and a chapter of a Percy Jackson book before sleep ❤️
The make up creators who did mrs. Doubtfire are also the ones who did white chicks. This duo did an huge assortment of makeup in so many movies. Pretty much any time you see some this difficult done, it's specifically them doing it
theres a museum in queens called museum of the moving image that has the costumes and makeup from mrs doubtfire!! momi was across the street from my high school so we always went on fridays after school when it was free for students :-)
As a *90’s baby,* myself, I feel like I couldn’t even _begin_ to express _how much_ *Robin Williams* meant to me as a child & how much he means to me, _even now._ He was the *man* who was able to make me, _suddenly,_ realize & understand _why_ people could grieve a *celebrity’s passing* the way that they, so often, seemed to do. I felt like I knew him- & somehow, _I felt like he knew me._ He was *family* & he will, _never not,_ _have a special place in_ *my heart.*
This video combines two of the things that always make me smile. Mykie and Robin Williams. Although this time in the end... I almost cried. Thanks for sharing this with us, Mykie... and I'm really happy to hear, that you love Robin just as much as I do.
I have had this recurring substitute teacher (who’s truly the coolest sub alive) who’s actually a professional robin williams impersonator and actor and can do the doubtfire voice
This movie is so special to me and my mum because when Robin is in full mrs. Doubtfire garb he looks like a twin of my maternal grandmother who I never got to meet as she passes before I was born. Mum always loves this movie, not only for Robin's amazing performance but because she sees so much of her mother, Melva, in the performance.
This was so FUN! Mykie when you mention that Robin Williams might able to fool someone with his makeup? He did!! When Ve was a judge on FACE OFF she recounted a story of when she and Robin were on set and someone on the street walked up to both of them. Robin was already in his makeup and the man asked them "Hey, I heard Robin Williams is going to be here today. Is this true?" Ve said that was the moment she knew the makeup was amazing because a random individual couldn't even tell it was him!
Mykie's name being caused by her forgetfulness and the subsequent loss of her keys is the new "I lost my brows in a shark attack". 😂 Edit: The joy in mykie's face throughout the entire video is so wholesome. She obviously loves this. ❤️
At 30:00 as you started reading what she said I started to cry. I like many others and a huge Robin Williams fan. He definitely is missed! I love you Mykie!!
There's a story Ve told at one point on an episode of FaceOff that she had just finished his makeup, and they were both waiting to cross the street into somewhere and another person came up, right beside BOTH of them and asked if Mr.Williams was on set yet! i think this was towards the beginning of filming where not everyone had any idea what he'd look like yet.
@@jillianc7485 same. Probably because it wasn't immediately available via streaming apps. I love rewatching the series though. Especially the first few.

There is also a game at parties I would play called "RomCom or RomCriminal" where someone would read an act or an action or something and the rest of the group would have to decide if it was justified or if that makes the person a psycho
Please elaborate on how you did this, like if everyone had to write down examples on slips of paper and then draw them or just tell their own or what lol. This sounds really fun
@@ItsAsparageese I think the host would prepare in advance some examples taken from romantic comedies, as well as some examples either taken from horror movies or made up specifically for the game. Then I assume the examples would be written on slips of paper along with whether they’re from a romcom, the slips would be mixed together, and people would have to draw randomly from the examples for the game.
This was just WOW!!! Myke: this is one of my favorite videos from this channel, almost right up there with the Bioluminescent Mermaid you did for the NYX Face Awards. As a fellow beauty and SFX artist, I really appreciate your insight and I always tell my students it’s a bit unfair that people usually congratulate the actors for enduring hours and hours in the makeup chair and performing in their SFX looks (often getting an Oscar for it), while fewer people recognize the makeup artists’ work. Standing ovation to them and you, for bringing this point of view to your followers. Thank you 🙏🏻

Is ur name rikke!? Or do u just go by that on here I know I’m late but I have a reason for askin!...
Saaaame
being honest, this is the only thing that's been able to calm my anxiety down today. thank you for having such a bright personality.
hope you feel better soon. anxiety is the worst
Glam&Gore thank you
16 candles is a perfect example of sketchy things being romantized
Also the original Mission Impossible TV series, where they do impossibly good latex makeup and very sketchy things, like major election fraud.
"it was a drive by fruiting" will forever be one of my fave lines in a movie ever. This was my fave movie as a kid and is still one of my tops. Robin Williams is such an amazing human and sorely missed ❤️
Between this movie and The Bird Cage, I have so many lines... ❤️ I miss him so much.
Tina Ari The Birdcage is amazing, Robin Williams was such a versatile actor his talent was truly special.
@@tinamarie2121 I had never seen or even heard of the bird cage until about a year or 2 ago.
@@melissajacobson2046 what did you think of it?
@@tinamarie2121 I liked it. I've only seen it the one time though.
My daughter is 8 and she keeps asking me "Mom can we watch Hello Zombaes?! Please???"
May the legend rest in peace.
the fact that Mykie's eyeshadow matched the background made me so happy.
I love Mykies eye-shadow❤
i just realized oooh
The second you said he was everyone’s dad in the 90s, I started to cry. I miss Robin so so much. Gone wayyy too soon. ❤️
I agree. He was such a fun and happy person. Such a a good actor.
ME TOO he was pure golden, one of the only celebraties whose death actually still makes me sad.
Totally agree to that. I still could cry every time I think about him.
Me too! God I loved watching Mork and Mindy as a kid, still say nanu nanu whenever anyone talks about aliens to me haha
To me Robin was like the fun uncle. ZORDON was actually my dad 90skidnerd
Mykie: "reading this makes me wanna cry"

Robin Williams has always been, and always will be my favorite person that has ever graced any tv and movie theatre . (I'm still crying btw)
Trans women are not women. The are men. It is not physically possible for a man to become a woman or a woman to become a man
Robin Williams wasn't trans.

Right?!?!
Right? It's been so long since I've seen Mrs Doubtfire and I had totally forgotten he was in it.

I miss him. He was the first celebrity that I genuinely cried over when I found out he took his own life.
Robin Williams was a blessing on Earth, such a genuine person who cared about fans. He’s saved my life a few times with his movies
One of the things that always confused me is that Pierce’s character is allergic to pepper but instead of having an allergic reaction, he chokes. The problem is then fixed with a overly dramatic abdominal thrusts. He neither goes to the hospital for an allergic reaction that would still be having an effect or for the abdominal thrusts themselves because even with real ones they can cause internal damage that must be checked for
Yea. I thought the same. If he was allergic and was chocking due to airway closing. He wouldn’t just be fine after food came out
Allergic reactions are so rarely realistic in movies and even when the reaction itself is the way others react isn't.
But like that pee thing would be perfect for a bingbong-from-inside-out look
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING ABOUT! I couldn't remember his name.
my favourite part of the whole movie is in the beginning when he's talking to mrs sellner and is doing impressions and he does an impression of a hotdog. i quote that and reenact that so often and have done ever since i first saw the movie
she could make the pee thing into a plague doctor mask i feel like thats quite fitting given the current state of the world ahah
Yes! Love this idea!
i almost liked this comment but we must keep it at 69 for the boys

Mykie: "Trans women are women."
Me, a trans girl: "Aww, babe, thank you for being the voice of my community and for educating people." 😊
I think, I agree with Mykie... we should call Trans Men as Men and Trans Women as Women, since I believe personally that calling them Trans still says or denotes them not being one...

I was thinking the same!
I was seriously worried this would be a blind react. I’m so relieved you’ve seen this movie hahha

Mission Impossible, the original TV series. Had all those latex faces they would tear off on screen. Though they probably had a different actor play the face, so they only needed the latex for the latex removal scene.

Love this movie 😭 Robin made it
Peter and Mykie watching horror movies and/or romcoms is what I'm LIVING for
Robin Williams is one of the best actors ever and that will never change 😢❤
That's exactly it: Robin Williams was the dad many of us growing up without a father figure always wanted. When he passed away, I cried - as if it was a personal loss even though I didn't know the man. This was the only time I've ever cried at the passing of a celebrity.
I'm so glad I'm not alone in still feeling utterly devastated by the loss of such an icon. I love this movie so much.

Is this true?"
Ve said that was the moment she knew the makeup was amazing because a random individual couldn't even tell it was him!
When you read Ve Neills text, I got teary eyed. I'm still so heartbroken he's gone
Mykie's name being caused by her forgetfulness and the subsequent loss of her keys is the new "I lost my brows in a shark attack". 😂
