I met your daughter at her job this evening. I was so nervous to ask her if she was related but I just had too. Keep your daydream helped me go nomadic in my own life so I felt like I was meeting royalty. I was like ummmm do your parents have a UA-cam channel and she laughed “yes”. She was very kind!!! Completely made my night 😬
Just read most every comment. Those bellyaching about the fact they spent so much money need to go back and watch videos from day 1. They started small and on a dime. Have entertained us all for years. They absolutely deserve all their success and if they want to spend it on solar, more power to them!
Saw that puff of blue smoke on the bird when you pulled out on the main road. I have two high mileage 7.3 diesels that Archoil fuel additive did a great job cleaning up the old injectors. The Archoil oil additive is great in the oil changes as well.... Your channel is so welcomed in this current state of chaos. Thank you so much for the smiles as you all make miles!
Thanks to KYD for our initial introduction to Future Sales / Future Solutions. Been in their shop twice now. The last time, your Bluebird was there onsite while we were getting our (way in advance) scheduled work completed. And I can't say enough good things about Battle Born batteries, and I mean the company, not necessarily the product. Standing behind their products is what makes a company great. Thanks so much to John and his team at FS, they rock!
Been watching for years. Back in the day you would provide informative use/cost information. Understanding that some of what you may do nowadays is sponsored, a “spitball” figure of cost for parts and/or labor for something like this off-grid electrical system would be informative as well. Another great quality video though.
Love the big bird. The electrical upgrade is huge. Great family raised with a lot of love. Bless you guys living your dream. From Huntington Beach, CA. 👍🏼
Thanks for this video, we were looking for a quality power uplift We dropped off our 2001.5 38’ Fleetwood Discovery @ Future Solutions yesterday for pretty much the same package (1 battery less). Can’t wait to see how it works! Great people to work with!
We went to Future Solutions for our Solar package and picked up our system this week and can’t wait to hit the road next week. They were great and the system looks great!
We had 1000 amp hours of battleborn batteries, two magnum inverters, 2400 watts of solar, had some magnum inverter issues, wish we would have went with what you have, but the class A came with the magnum. We are fulltime and started our channel because of watching y’all. Love your channel and your family.
Between your channel, and the cheap rv living channel, I've learned just about everything I need to know to install my own solar. I'm a total nerd, and I love these episodes. Thank you.
Nice setup. Mine is very similar. 1200 watts of solar on 2-150/45 Victron controllers , Multiplus2 3k, Cerbo GX, 824Ah of lithium batteries, BMV712 and a GX touch 50. Gotta love Victron!!!
Just had 1200 watts of Solar installed by Continuous Resources in Utah with the 100 amp Battle Born, wish I knew about the GC270 but hey, its all good! I also had problems with my lights on the the tow vehicle and it ended up being a bad plug on the tow. I changed it out and all the lights worked.
love the bird, however we have a 15 year old dutch star (newmar diesel pusher) with 4 slides that i recommend people take a look at, opposing slides open up floor space like you can not believe, love you guys and keep up the good work
Nice video as always. To be clear power is in watts, energy is in watt hours, so your batteries contain 12,800 watt hours (12.8kWh) of energy when full. Sorry to nitpick, but its an easy mistake to make.
At 17:56 you had brakes lights on the bird and the subaru but you did not have a blinker on the subaru. At 18:09 brakes lights off when you let off to make the left hand turn.
Really like the solar, praying we can afford to do the same with our travel trailer. Every time I see y’all in the class A, I want to say “Fly Bird, Fly” ❤️
Seen you guys going down the road. Someday hope to meet you all. We have 1200 watts of solar and 6 BB 100 ah batteries and it’s awesome. All electronics and batteries under our bed.
Your solar guys did a great job on your Bird project! You may want a couple more flex solar panels to put on ground like PVC mount for winter months or rain days. They are lightweight and will help Kw wise.
Wow, what a great episode! We’re planning on getting a new Casita, and want to go solar. Gotta get to Future Solutions. My only reservation would be the interference that solar panels on the roof would do to to the Casita’s aerodynamics. Probably worth it to get all that power from the sun. Rock On
So I’ve been doing as much comparing as much as possible. I’m glad to see y’all got the 270ah batteries. Was curious why people chose 6 100s over 2 or three 270 ones. Now to choose bluetti ac300 or eco flow solar generator
You probably figured out that tow electrical problem, already. But I had the same problem, but it works when I plug into vehicle, I just lean it to the right side and everything is fine with the connections.
I would bet that 99.999% of your viewers want/need to know how much this GIGANTIC electrical system costs ? Parts and labor breakdown would sure be nice !
You can pretty much bet or bank on that all parts which are supplied from Battle Born including Victron are donated for media exposure. Labor was charged for the deserved professional at Future Solutions. Is what it is. All them social media “ Likes “ takes away the OMG! YIKES PRICE! from the normal end users. Thats a 20K + install for non UA-cam Stars
Wow, what a sleek looking installation. They really did a nice job. I have the same system in my van as you do in your airstream and I love it. NO Propane. Will be very interested in your induction cooktop choice and Especially your choice of pans. Limited space-so I want to make smart choice.
Love your stuff but For north of 25k I can buy a heck of a lot of gas for my generator. You need an engine upgrade or a turbo depending on engine condition I noticed it smoking a little. Not sure Ild put that kind of money in a coach that old. Pulling the Subaru is going to cost you a transmission sooner rather than later.
Another great video! We just picked up an older class A motorhome few weeks ago that we are currently making repairs and doing some remodel on. We are getting ready to go full-time RVing and one of the things we need to look into in the near future is a better off-grid power solution.
Just wanted to throw this out there because we had problem a couple years ago with power not getting to our tow vehicle behind our class a and after many weeks of knocking our heads against the wall, it turned out we had the cord plugged in upside down! Apparently the cord can be plugged in upside down but only functions one way. Hope this helps and if not I hope you figure it out! Love you guys by the way! My favorites!
Thank you once again for sharing your experiences and also for the solar install recommendations...its so good to know a reputable place to go...I can't wait to upgrade!!
easy to figure out the cost of the batteries. $2359.00 each at 80 pounds a piece. $10k just for the four batteries. I am guessing $20k to $25k install including the equipment and solar panels.
When lifting the panel to get the initial look, my first thought is Jack Burns from the Fokkers would be sitting in there talking to someone in Thailand.
There’s only ONE thing wrong with your videos, they’re TOOOOOOO Short!!! All of a sudden they’re over! Bummer! Can’t you make them longer? We love watching you guys sooo much!!!!!! The Byrd is totally awesome as well as you guys!!! Love you a ton!!!💖
Very exciting! Those guys did an all around excellent job. The look alone gives you confidence, not to mention the a/c working like a charm. Looking forward to Route 66!
SWEET Solar setup !!! I'd guess it was North of 25K IF it was paid for without Sponsorships included. Calculating Panel Wattage to Lipo4 Battery Ah's I'd say you could use at least double the total wattage in panels . I've been schooled you need 300 watts of Solar Panels per 100Ah of LiPo4 Battery..
*LiFePo4 ;) They might be running 36V panels, which would give high charging amps to 12V batteries. Due to lack of roof space, if they need more panels, I think they'd need to mount them all above the roof vents so they all fit flush and in line across the top. My thoughts on it, anyway. :)
Absolutely PERFECT. I also have a very similar setup using all Victron and Battle Born. however I only have 600 AH of batteries and one multiplus-II inverter. after my install I quickly discovered that one inverter just wasn't enough power (2400 watts) looking into adding my second inverter ( to make 4800 watts) but not sure how to run them parallel. I will also need to add 4 more batteries. yes I do all of my own work. I will eventually figure it out. you must be floating on cloud nine having such an awesome system. congrats. one thing I did notice as a game changer was when I recently installed my Easystarts (Bluetooth) on each of my A/C units. did you install them on yours yet? safe travels.
Very nice job on the solar Very few consider how it blends in You should consider upgrading your alternator to 200 (or more) amps then you can run the AC off the bus electrical system That’s what I did cost was minimal

The biggest, best and most professional RV solar setup I've seen on UA-cam!

Why is no one ever talking about cost ? These systems are very $$$ . Most people will never be able to afford such a upgrade .
Start small and work up.
