New Zealand documentary series exploring some of our most enduring mysteries. Where are The Missing? #newzealandtelevision #crime #mystery #documentary #missingpersonsmysteries #missing
Fascinating story,I remember her picture in the newspaper after she disappeared but never really knew much about her, thankyou, excellence for presentation
It sounds to me like Betty had many triumphs and those triumphs could be recognised further in New Zealand. Yet, being a woman, she was likely criticized and focused on for how she worked on her science instead of meeting the limited social norms of the day. I am quite sure there were male counterparts to her at the University who had problems with alcohol, social isolation etc. but they would have been dealt with quite differently.
How is her family, none of thwm vhecked on her, talked to her, juat stood back and judged. None of them can say definitely how she was. And then betraying her through their assumptions now. Amazing how neglectful family can be.
Very interesting - thank you for bringing up Betty. Intelligent researcher who gave go much to NZ marine biology/research. She needs more recognition.
100 percent
Thank you for posting. Very interesting and great series.

Such a sad story. RIP Betty 💝
Love the Missing series, we don't get anything like this in Australia.

Interesting post, thank you.
Amazing she stood up against the sexism!
Hats off to Tessa. That must have been a tough assignment.
Ive never heard of these cases even though i live here in New Zealand.
Same
After hearing her story, I think no one need look any further than out to sea.
will you guys cover any North Island cases like Mona Blades or Iraena Asher?
Yes please I would like to see that too
Irena asher was covered very well imo in the piha doco I think it was called " west coast vanishings"
The Missing is no longer in production, so unfortunately Iraena & Mona's disappearances won't be covered.
Feels like she swam out
Not in the context of suicide but like she found/saw something she wanted to investigate and drowned in the process maybe.
@@SH-to8shthat's what I was thinking also

❤
The way Betty's clothes are laid out on the beach is like she was in a hurry to get in the water for some reason and got into trouble.
Probably disappeared like Agatha Christie did under stress
The water experiment is pointless. The woman obviously took her own life in the see and was washed out.
