I love the build up of slight hope and confidence in 0:50-1:03 only to have it dashed back down to his typical state of misery and insecurity. This song feels exactly like when one is an alcoholic or heroin addict, how 95% of it is misery and hurt and there’s that 5% when you take the first chug or line or shot in the morning it feels like you can finally take on the day with some good happy energy but after an hour it’s literally all gone and back to feeling soul abandoned and crushed.

Lou reed, bowie, dylan, not even the oh so beloved john lennon have acheived what elliott had in a fraction of their career spans, and that is an extremely extensive discography that remained consistant throughout. Even smiths unreleased stuff is great. Cant wait to see the new elliott documentary!

I'm always going to come back to this, even if life get easier sometimes, that hole that sinks me in gets in the way with no warning every night but I must admit, Elliot does help like no one else, I think he was one of the few artist that could ilustrate how hard life can be, a true poet that always talked from the heart. Yeah, his honesty is one thing that set Elliott apart from... well, any other artist in history. You can just feel his sincere and genuine expression in his lyrics, and his beautiful "wounded" tenor voice. I too have trouble fathoming his existence. There never has been, or never will be another like Elliott again, he was truly one of a kind! When I think of the negatives in humanity, listening to Elliott makes me feel like the world truly is a beautiful place. Miss him so much! My best friend..

Yeah, his honesty is one thing that set Elliott apart from... well, any other artist in history. You can just feel his sincere and genuine expression in his lyrics, and his beautiful "wounded" tenor voice. I too have trouble fathoming his existence. There never has been, or never will be another like Elliott again, he was truly one of a kind! When I think of the negatives in humanity, listening to Elliott makes me feel like the world truly is a beautiful place. Miss him so much! My best friend..
