  • Reggie Yates travels to LA to meet leading African-American actors, such as Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali and Caleb Mclaughlin, and writers and showrunners from Lena Waithe to Justin Simien.
Revolutionary change is shaking up the TV industry in Hollywood. A wave of hit shows like Atlanta, Dear White People and Insecure, all with majority African-American casts, are pioneering a new frankness about race and identity.
This film follows Reggie Yates to LA and into this ferociously creative and hugely aspirational new world as he meets leading African-American actors such as Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, True Detective) and Stranger Things star Caleb Mclaughlin, and writers and showrunners from Lena Waithe (Master of None and The Chi) to Justin Simien (Dear White People).
Through entertaining encounters with some of the most exciting talent working in the entertainment industry, Reggie tackles the big questions in Trump’s America that the work coming out of this black renaissance addresses, and he explores his own experiences of working in front of, and behind, the camera.

I just hate that he doesn't get as many views! There are so many stupid shows that get millions of views, but someone like him that wakes up and educates so many people gets so little views! That just says a lot about where human mentality is in this age! So many subscribers yet so little views.

I have seen so many give interviews but I say Mr. Reggie had such a warm, genuine curiosity. Hope to see him on TV and online much more!!

20:15 I don't fully agree with his logic, and more specifically his choice of wording. Rather than stereotyping white people for clutching their purse, locking their doors, and shooting black people, he could easily have just said a show on their TV could allow people to experience something they may not get an opportunity to experience in their community. There are plenty of white folks in small towns across America that lack diversity, and plenty of people who live there are not racist. Stereotyping white people or any race in such a way is the wrong message only divides us even further. It's a 2 way street that we all should be mindful of and respect both directions of traffic.

Do you think its because the guy and possibly the editing team are from England? (not watching the entire video, the first 2 minutes made me LMAO)

@@LeoCharles You're lucky you stopped watching when you did. unfortunately, I watched almost half of the video. I'm all for people embracing their culture and standing up for themselves, but I cant be onboard with some peoples twisted logic like that guy around the 20 min mark.
