I have absolutely got to start reading Abercrombie.
I agree!
You absolutely should.
You're an amazing spokesperson for Joe Abercrombie. I've never read any of his books, but I found myself so hyped for an author I've never even heard of 😂
Joe and John. Two of this old man's favorites. You have good taste. 🥰
If Jonny Depp isn't cast for Nickamo Coska, I'm going to cry
I've read everything besides the second trilogy. I'm a fisherman and the upcoming scallop and halibut season will give me some time on the high seas to finally finish the first law.
Yes! Hope you enjoy it!
Subscribed cuz Joe Abercrombie fan. I’ve also covered his books.
Currently reading the heroes
Almost done with everything he’s written
As long as we have Pacey in the audio: I'm in
"Sign my soul to the devils" nice :p
I do love how much this just sounds like unhinged Abercrombie. I'm all for it!
Also, this is one of your best videos, Holly!!
Thank you!
I am so hyped for this book!! I’m almost caught up on his books, just need to read the age of madness trilogy. I’m definitely a fan girl of his too all thanks to you 😂.
Heck yeah!
I'm a big fan too. Listened to all the series multiple times.
Boo too vampire stories. You can do better. Also the stories will be better received if you start with Age of madness and have people looking for the back story. The comedy of Age of Madness is more relatable. Like vampires, the old warriors story is kinda played but hearing Clover, Shivers, talking about the old Heroes makes you want more. Sand dan Glokta is one of fiction best characters. Like Ned Stark and Kvothe.
Happy to stumble across your channel and find someone who loves Joe’s writing as much as I! On a side note I just started Wrath and am loving John Gwynne as well
Yes! John Gwynne is also a master of his craft.
just collected all of the hard back signed editions of the first Law so lloking forward to some quality readin. Also waiting for the DLC for elden ring..can't wait.
I can't wait for this book!
Abercrombie is king
gushing like a geyser for these books
I want abrasive but overall likable personalities, insufferable villain, relatable (ish) anti-heros. But overall? The ingredients he's known for
I've seen Joe Abercrombie's books in bookstores so often but somehow I've never read one of them, with you hyping him up so much I might have to pick up one of them...
I always recommend starting with Half a King and if you like his writing and storytelling then dive into the First Law universe :)
@@HollyHeartsBooks I'd coincidentally been eyeing Half a King haha so now I definitely will check it out
Extremely lackluster cover with no depth. Awesome video tho thank you
"The Devils" sounds so interesting. I avoided the author so far as the female characters from his first book were all victims of SA and there were trigger warnings of sexism. I am cautious about white male authors. Some of them tend to depict women and other minorities in unfavorable light. Is that issue just in hist first book or does it persist?
