  • Artisan Mousepads are one of the biggest flex in mousepads and are a lot of peoples choice for most GOATED pads of all time... but if you're looking to buy your first pad it can be confusing and intimidating.
    I decided I'd do it myself like Thanos and bought at least one of every Artisan XL pad in each base hardness option... My wallet may be empty, but my brain is now filled with the knowledge I need for the community! =D
    This video is here to help introduce you to the world of Artisan and explain the pads and options in simple terms.

    Fantastic video.
    Information is so sparse with respect to comparisons between the Artisan pads, despite the fact that there is no shortage of videos on them. Your video makes the differences between the pads perfectly clear, and the way you describe them is quite detailed. Thank you for putting so much effort into your content, it really shows.

      I really appreciate that!
      I could've done like 10mins on each pad and got really into the details but figured it's sometimes better to just give people the basics and how the pads compare to each other and not overcomplicate it.

    I have the whole Artisan range myself and saw a lot of reviews where I could only half agree with, a few were even total BS.
    But your review is spot on and every detail you mention is exactly my experience.
    For someone looking for any Artisan pad, simply watch this video, make your choice and you can be done with it.
    Here you have a clear and correct description of every Artisan pad.

      Is you currently play on a G-SR and want a similar experience then I'd suggest a Zero Soft, but also, potentially consider checking out the IKEA lanespelare pad... It's not obvious quite as top tier as the Zero but it's $7 and an absolute monster for control

    currently rocking an otsu for FPS games and the raiden for moba style games, I find the raiden works prety well with heavier mouse liek the g502 because of how slick the surface is, it makes it very easy to keep a solid grip on the mouse compared to other pads, but when using pads that aren't the raiden it feels slightly too slow. FPS games I can feel the speed too much though with Raiden, so Otsu will stay main fps pad.

    awesome reviews. have you tried a de-coated shidenkai secret surface? they say its the same as hien. i only have xsoft shidenkai and a mid hien so i cant say its a fair comparison, but the surface textures at least seem similar. for me, the decoated shidenkai was a better all-around pad compared my zeroes in all softness levels and the hien mid I own. but again, it could be the same as a hien xsoft.

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews
      @GoodEnoughTechReviews  2 роки тому

      I haven't yet (no shidenkai worn through) and I debated including it in the video but felt like it was a bit too much detail for an overview (same on the Zero swapping weave to a new smoother surface).
      I have a Hien X-Soft so when my black shid finally wears through I'll make sure to try it out and compare them... Be great if it has an equal X/Y too

  • @DEANluxray

    What makes the Artisan mousepad from other mousepad is durability. Most mousepad creates a mud surface after 1~2 months of use even after giving it a deep clean(warm water and soft soap). I am using my Otsu soft for nearly a year and it is still as good as new. I bought two otsu, one for daily use and the other for reserve.

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews
      @GoodEnoughTechReviews  2 роки тому +2

      I agree that Artisan is durable and long lasting, but a lot of other premium pads also are equally as long lasting and can be washed. Just look for anything that is uncoated, because it tends to be pads with coatings that age poorly and wear down unevenly.
      I do think that artisan are one of the better ones though for sure.

    Hey man, I keep coming back to this video bc of how watchable and informative you made it. Thanks so much. I do have a question Id love your help with.
    I have been using a G Pro X with tiger ice feet on a Hayate Otsu Soft. I need more control. its just too fast and not enough stopping power.
    What would you recommend I do? Im thinking I will try replacing the mouse feet with slower feet (tiger Arc 1)
    But I am wondering if I should buy a Zero soft instead for more control.
    What would you do (also, is the afro issue on the zero true? I dont live with animals, can it be avoided?)

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews
      @GoodEnoughTechReviews  Рік тому

      Firstly, the white fuzz on the Zero is absolutely a thing, whether you have pets or not, the thing just attracts hair sadly. Zero is a solid pad but still on the faster side for control pads tbh.
      Corepads should slow the mouse down some on the same pad if that's what you're looking for, especially when broken in. Otherwise, you could try a more control focused pad like a Vaxee PA black?
      Glad you found the video so useful, looking forward to getting back to uploading now.

      Otsu the X-Soft you'll notice the weave influence less but you'll also sink into it a lot more especially if you claw or use mice with small/dot skates.
      X-Soft is really ideal for mice with larger skates and/or people who fingertip or grip lightly. If you could only get one, id probably suggest the soft unless you already know you enjoy a really squishy surface with large pad skates.

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews

      Zero has the most control but it's still on the faster end of cloth surfaces tbh. A QcK will be slower for example

    @wertyuiopasd6281 2 роки тому +1

    What are the obvious differences in control and speed between the soft and xsoft versions of the Hayate Otsu V2?
    I sort of claw-palm my EC3 without my wrist touching the mousepad and apply relaxed pressure with my arm on the mousepad for CSGO.
    Thanks for the video. I like your british humour.

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews

      British "Dad" humour is very specific so I'm glad it comes across, I try not to take myself too seriously!
      With your grip/arm position the X-Soft and soft will be quite different in speed, the X-Soft will feel like a slower glide surface due to the weight a palm/claw applies on the mouse pressing it into the pad.

    Hello. Thanks for review. I have otsu with superglides and I feel really slow with that. I am looking for shidenkai or raiden mid for my superglide feets. What do you think in comparison between shidenkai and raiden mid with glass mouse skates? Don't worry about control. I am a speed demon. Do you think there is massive difference between shidenkai and raiden. I would love to get shidenkai but I am playing a lot. Pretty sure it will have 2 month lifespan. If you compare them detailed with glass skates for me I will be really happy. Much appreciated for effort. Thanks

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews
      @GoodEnoughTechReviews  2 роки тому +1

      I tested both pads with glass for my review, didn't show the glass on Raiden because I thought there wouldn't be a huge amount of interest but it's crazy fast and has almost no control at all.
      There's even less control on the Shidenkai but as you said, you'll get through it fast if you play a lot. It actually wears down more on where your wrist touches the pad than anywhere else so if you use a sleeve or have your wrist elevated anyway, you might get more life out of it.
      Either way, Mid Raiden with Superglides is an absolute ice rink...

      I think the Otsu is a more versatile pad that can work for slower or high movement games. It'll also be a more natural transition from the Hien.
      Zero is always a good choice but you have to know it's going to be slower and will attract hair, if they aren't problems for you, then consider it too.

      Love to see the continued support man, you a real one!
      I try not to recommend anything ever, because I don't have enough context to usually know people's preference. If it was me, looking at both I would go X-Soft for the Shidenkai. The X-Soft is more flexible and a softer surface that still feels cloth like, the mid is kind of nearer a hard pad and at that point, just buy a hard surface imo 😬
      You also have to be prepared that the past is probably only going to be at its best for the first 6 months or so, but if you're cool with that then the Shidenkai is a total experience of a pad.

      Only Artisan that is anything close to a QcK would be the Zero but even that is considerably faster tbh. In terms of softness, the mid pads would have a similar feel to a QcK. Artisan in general are quite fast pads regardless of which you go for.

    • @GoodEnoughTechReviews
      @GoodEnoughTechReviews  2 роки тому +1

      I was thinking about this in the future, but in all honesty there's already some pretty good guides on UA-cam.
      Assuming it's not a Shidenkai (which you can only really gentle wipe) all other artisan pads have two options
      1) using a non-corrosive surface disinfectant and microfibre cleaning cloth to gently rub the surface in small circles, removing dirt and working in the disinfectant solution.
      2) laying the artisan pad flat in a bathtub with a small solution of dish soap/cleaning solution in the water. You only really need an inch or two deep, just enough to cover the pad. Then use a facecloth or small cleaning rag to gently rub the pad in a circle motion working around the entire surface. Once you are satisfied all dirt is worked off, drain the bath and refil again at least twice with water (no soap) pressing and rubbing the pad to remove any soap residue. Leave your pad out to dry on a flat surface and not in direct heavy sunlight.
