  • In this webinar, we explore the importance of the ‘3 Fs’ - friends, freedom, and forage - to equine wellbeing, as well as other ways that we can give horses a good life. Internationally-renowned Professor Natalie (Nat) Waran takes us on a guided tour of this newly emerging topic. Nat’s unique mix of warmth, practicality, and science makes her a standout speaker on any topic related to equine welfare.
    Among other topics, Nat discusses:
    • What the 3Fs are
    • Why they are important
    • How they can be integrated into equine husbandry
    • What issues may arise if the 3 Fs are not provided.
Following her presentation, Nat is joined by Sam York, an experienced and successful event rider and coach, and Rae Andrews, one of World Horse Welfare’s field officers and a seasoned competitor, where they discuss practical issues surrounding provision of the 3 Fs. This leads into a Q & A session in which the live audience ‘ask the experts’ questions on this important topic.
Nat Waran, Sam York, and Rae Andrews discuss how we can give horses a ‘good life’, with a focus on providing friends, freedom, and forage.

Fantastic, thought-provoking and most welcome, positive credible information!!
We Must always see through the eyes of our horses!!
Thank You so very much, I have to admit that I retired early from working For the Horses, due to my concerns!!
But, seeing what is now happening within the equine world...
With so much fantastic humane, horse based welfare changes being made.
I am feeling drawn back to the work I have missed so very, very much!!
    Thank you so much. XxX

Wonderful to see you bringing up this vital but difficult topic! Not only that but showing great example by being open about changing your views and practices, sometimes difficult for us horse people who generally heavily lean on tradition.

Great info. Love the idea of bigger stables. Never liked keeping horses stabled. Too confining. But for time when its necessary, bigger is better. With access to a coralle for mooching and rolling, better still. Love that people are studying horse happiness and sharing their research.
