    Been growing since the early 70's, the main difference is now I do it legally and indoors. We used to plant seeds in all the vegetable gardens on our paper routes, none of the senior citizens knew what the plants were, thought they looked interesting so they'd let them grow, and we'd harvest when we're ready. Now growing the best I've ever grown.

    You will never get a pound from a plant if you skip the veg mode. Probably no more than 1 oz per plant. That more plants, more pots, more dirt, more watering to make a pound. Sounds like a bad idea. I like fewer bigger plants. Just lollipop to eliminate larf. Sounds to me like somebody was high and bored and wanted to reinvent the wheel.

    I got a license to grow a few years ago. My first indoor grow I was in a hurry so I flipped my light cycle to 12/12 after 30 days from putting them in their 5 gallon pots filled with ocean forest soil and a few secret additives. I got 3-4 oz's from each plant...and it was better than 90% of what's available at the dispensaries ! I still flip to flower after 6 weeks max in vegative cycle. I get 8-12 ozs dried from each plant. I think I'll stick to what's working as I am limited to 6 plants in flower 6 in veg. And 6 starts at any given time !

    Almost two years ago I tried what I called a "Runt Run." I grew photo clones with no veg cycle. It took about 3.5 weeks to see it start to bud. They were definitely smaller, but they didn't yield that much less for the time, nutes, electric and work. I did train them better knowing I didn't have as much time. Now I only grow 2 of the wife's fav photos. Two of my favorite photos and the other 8 are autos. LOVE MY ACI PRODUCTS! Paired with the Ecowitt Soil Moisture Sensors makes it a no brainier. I like to use Perlite in my coco, but only about 15%. Reuse my media, use RO and a reputable nute brand for the cleanest stash possible,.

Starting with 14 hours of light at 30% since it's usually mid April that seeds start to sprout naturally outdoor...then I veg so mid April to the third week of July in 8 weeks so I increase hours and intensity according to this calculation...so 18h and full blast 2 weeks before stretch then 13/11 during stretch and the 4 first weeks of flowering then I start to decrease time and intensity to finish at 30% and 10/14...I use IR to induce sleep 10mn before lights off and 10mn after!

    I was always under the impression indicas tended to have more amber trichomes before everything was 100% milky white, you'd still have some glassy trichs as it would just generally have more amber trichomes when fully mature. Now with the CBN information, it would seem to kind of seem exactly that indica mature at a different rate when speaking the baseline difference. Short stout flower faster and Sativa longer flowering times can be quite lengthy etc.

      The original comment is correct when grown from a seed the plant will not enter the flower stage until it reaches a certain level of maturity. This is strain dependent and even depends of the specific plant. I have attempted to flower plants that were only a week or two old and they did not start to flower even with 11-13 light schedule. It took a few extra weeks for them to mature a little then they started flowering while the other plants started flowering like normal. They were a few weeks behind the entire time. Now I have also done this with a clone and the with flower due to the fact they are older plants as long s they are well rooted. If they are not rooted they will not flower until the roots are able to support the flowering process.

    • @Bearthalamass
      @Bearthalamass 14 днів тому

      @@NGT4LIFE If a seed pops outdoors, late in the year when the day is already getting shorter, they'll do everything they can to reproduce. And they'll go into flower at 2-3 weeks if not sooner. And you'll have a plant that's 3" tall with a little nugget on top. I've seen it personally.

    In the last 12 to 14 years of growing I have found the longer you veg the bigger the top buds are in the far more yield you get in the far higher quality the hot words are. If you cut even 3 weeks off your badge you're destroying your yields. Iowa veg anywhere from 2 to 3+ months. Until they are high enough to where I can flower them and only have to super crop the biggest of the plants. In October 24 i got a new HLG Scorpion Diablo X and the UVB bulb.

    Im growing Golden Tiger and i flip directly off germination. You can take clones during flower id say until week 6. I thought the term is monster cropping but check on that. You can also run strains on 11/13 which will save you some $ at the end of the year. Plants dont require a lot of light the first week of transition so i put them in front of my finishing tent to get decent light on 12/12 the first week. This allows a free week of light power plus a jump start on the next crop saving 12.5% of time during transition. I also put the plants in dark for 36hrs on the day of flip to reduce stretching and increase homone production. The issue with what i call the popsical tek is that it takes a couple of weeks for from germ to sex a plant. So ideally that extra off time is not doing anything since they cannot sex until the 3rd node i thought. Therefore the exra bulking with the lights may be worth it. Now light intensity and duration is something to try. Plants wiill sex with low levels of light so will that help running low light intensity during the night cycle? And during the bud bulking stage, would adding another hr 13/12 help bulk and then try 10/14 after the bulking has stopped.

    I have cloned buds ready to harvest. I was trying to save a strain. 10% of my clones made it. These days, with the ability to get strains, from cultivars to house in 1 week, there is little need to go to such extremes. Nice to know it is possible. Test your skills, try it sometime.

    • @bakedbean37
      @bakedbean37 Місяць тому

      Probably worth trying to reveg the donor plant as well as striking cuttings if you leave it that late wit a keeper.
      Trim back to the lowest few buds and put it back under veg light regimen.
      It can take a while but it's already rooted so it stands a better chance.
      Early weird looking growth soon reverts back to normal when it gets going.

      @@heywoodjablome5630 buddy I do know how autos work since I have grown over 100 plants. Yes I know that they are not affected by light cycle. I really wanted to know if you start off with a 12/12 cycle if the plant would have the structure to go into flower and still produce decent. Remember that NO ONE is an expert ok, we are always learning Boss.

    • @heywoodjablome5630
      @heywoodjablome5630 2 місяці тому +2

      @@SilentScreamsStudios understood. Now, if you increase light intensity you can achieve the same DLI as a longer day cycle. Growth is dependant on total photons received, but you might have to manage temperature and CO2 to get there with 12/12.
      I'm still learning too.

    It just depends on how big you want your plant.
    The bud is pretty similar.
    If you veg long enough, the plant gets a big think stem.

    You could charge a nominal fee to pick them up, boil them, separate from the roots and resell/reuse the media.
