    By no means do you have to support but Mrs. Gibson and I really appreciate the support as it goes a long way since most of these videos are copyrighted or blacklisted by YT. Lots of time goes into recording, editing, researching, and providing encouraging words throughout each reaction/review so this is an OPTION for those that are able to do so. I am an old man, 65 years now. I would like to tell Mr. Young that this song, afte.r a friend that I dearly loved
    died of a drug overdose when we were in high school. I listened to needle and the damage done over and
    over and over. This one not only got me thru the loss, but kept me from ever putting a needle in my own arm.
    Fifty years later, it still makes me cry like a newborn. Love ya' still pam. Tab

    The guts it must take to sit (or stand) in front of a large crowd...alone, no backup singers, no band, no auto-tone...and perform such a deeply personal song. Wow! That's our Uncle Neil.

    my brother is a recovering addict, Using needles he contracted Hepatitis C. I've seen him crawl on the floor looking for a scrap of a pill, or a trace of powder. He's now thank the lord has been clean for 5 years, but it is a daily struggle. I worry that stress could set him off again but luckily he has an amazing sponsor and support system

    Neil lost a bandmate and roadie to heroin in the early 70s. This song was about the death of his bandmate, Danny Whitten. He later wrote Tonight's the Night about the loss of his roadie, Bruce Berry.

    • @blindriv3r
      @blindriv3r 2 роки тому +1

      This was written BEFORE Danny Whitten died, sort of a cautionary tale, which didn't work obviously
      Tonight's the Night was for both Danny and Bruce, he just didn't mention Danny by name in any song

    Devin, I just subscribed to you. Neil has been a major part of my life since 1973. Please consider doing the outstanding song written by Danny Whitten, "I don't Want To Talk About it" Danny wrote it as a member of Crazy Horse, before they joined up with Neil. It's been covered many times, most notably by Rod Stewart. Please do the original version by Danny. I know for a fact, it will touch you deep in your soul. Be Well

    Neil is a tremendous musician. Not onlybdid he lose Danny, but roadie Bruce Berry(who Danny unfortunately introduced to dope recording in England with Stephen Stills, and Bruce died at the young age of 23 yo…both of them went far to young. Neil’s album “Tonight’s the Night” was based around Bruce Berry. I’d recommend that and “down by the river” & “cinnamon girl” if you’ve not heard them already “…Bruce berry was a workin man, used to love that econoline van…a sparkle was in his eyes but his life was in his hands. Well late at night when the people were gone, he used to pick up my guitar…and sing a song in a shakey voice that was real as the day is long!” Neil is hands down the pinnacle of singing/songwriting/ and has a guitar style(acoustic folksy stuff as well as some of the best rock n roll of the entire 2OTh century. No 2 ways about it. Also one more thing: seeing African Americans enjoy Neil’s music really gives me hope for humanity. Love your reviews bud!

    Danny Whitten was a huge loss, in Cinnamon Girl, he is singing the high vocal part, the more prominent one, and Neil is on the lower harmony part. After Danny's death is only when Neil took the high part and the bassist Billy Talbot the lower one. Check this song by Danny (before Rod Stewart butchered it w/his cover) ua-cam.com/video/NBz_2EqJ5wI/v-deo.html
