    I completely agree with Ego is the enemy being number 1 in S tier. That book and its message are phenomenal.

    I really recommend "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron.
    It's a book that actually convinced me to transfer out of my old PhD program and into a new one, where I'm much happier and fulfilled, in spite of taking a hefty cut on prestige. Your creative flow is extremely important, in everything you do. This book teaches that quite well.

      Does your local library have Libby?
      You can get cards from libraries that are not local... I've seen Libby videos on UA-cam.
      Some are on Audible as well.

    Wouldn't it be grand if everyone put the "self focus" books down and got out and volunteered and helped others instead? What a world it could be if self focus was forgotten.

    • @c-mad6364
      @c-mad6364 8 місяців тому +3

      Well, you can't give what you don't have in the long run. I understand your point, but I have been exactly this for years - only giving, helping, smiling. But the reasons were that I lacked something, not that I had to give something. So even tho I really like making people smile, it wears me down.
      Focussing entirely on others needs didn't summon someone who cared for me equally.
      So don't mind me being here for myself for now, since I am responsible for myself. And when I want to help others, I should help myself first so that I can help from the strongest place possible.

    Never Split The Difference... It's a book with a lot of great information, and proven negotiation tactics...
    HOWEVER... Voss should have found someone better to partner up with for the book. He stated he's not a writer, which is why he partnered up with a writer...
    And Raz is one of the worst writers I've read. You can't read through a paragraph and not see the glaring errors... From missing words, to sentence formats that you'll have to read 3 times to understand. Great book, but not the best read.
