My grandfather who lived in Eden for many years said that house shown at 9:11 was there when he was a little boy . He died as a senior citizen in 1969 . i forgot the last name he told me of the family who owned that house . In a town like Eden NC everybody knows everybody .
@@TimothyFrenchWe moved here from Michigan in 2011 and we love this town 3 hours from Ashville, NC 45 MIN FROM GREENSBORO its a very relaxing place to live after living in the city
The building shown at 14:40 was by the railroad spur track . In front of this building is where you boarded the interstate bus to go Danville VA years ago .
Trains snd buses were the way many people travelled between towns. My father met my mother on a bus traveling through Charlotte, NC when he was a young man in the Marines.
I went to St Joseph of the Hills in Eden from middle through high school - great parish and Eden is a lovely town! Rockingham Office Machine & Supply is my favorite business in Eden!
I'm from Eden. I'm related to the man named Byrd. The town was growing and thriving until the 90s. It's just sad now. Still love going home. but the town is dying.
I'm definitely going to do Hot Springs. I've paddle the river many times and been to a couple of festivals. They have it all, hiking mt bike, paddling. And of course the Hot Springs. Thanks for watching.
@@TimothyFrench Yaaaay!) Awesome, sir! It will be really pleasure. Thanks a lot). By the way sir, maybe you want to put some background music on your videos, like a slightly one low volume soundtrack? And what about the title screen? I like your videos, and I want see them more as professional edited one. Have a good one!
Small towns like Eden are a treasure. I was lucky enough to live in many of these small towns in the 70's 80's and 90's. They are vanishing fast and losing their culture and not for the better.
True, but I hope these videos show how important our town centers are. Least they all become consumed by the same ole corporations we see at every exit. And you are correct. They are a treasure and you are a treasure for sharing your thoughts. Thanks
Eden is a nice town to live in but jobs are limited. Fieldcrest Mills was the major industry making bedding carpets under the names of Fieldcrest, Karastan carpets and Royal Velvet towels. Fieldcrest sold to Pillotex which later went bankrupt and Karastan sold to Mohawk. They once were the highest names in those products when Fieldcrest. Eden also had Miller Beers last new brewery built in 1979 but closed in the 2000’s in a cutback in demand. Lost many good paying jobs. Still a town of good people and potential 45 minutes from Greensboro and Winston-Salem, NC.
Name is Samuel Moriarty most people call me Sam or Sammy or Pastor, born and raised in Eden NC I'm 22 now and I love my hometown my Great Grandma was born in the Leakesville hospital in 1936 so my family history dates back a while, in the same spot my Family started Thiers many many moons ago.
My home town ❤

Eden is one of the very last towns in NC that still has a working drive-in theater.

Saw a dude hit a deer right there about a year ago , it was flying through the air & landed right where you’re standing in the beginning lol
Yikes! They must of hit that deer hard.
@@TimothyFrench oh yes, it was 4:30 in the morning & I don’t think they were completely awake yet! I’m sure they were after that haha

Looks like a town where many of the people I met when I was in the military ...joined the military to get away from due to limited opportunities.
Please visit Hotsprings - Hot Springs, NC 28743, really gorgeous little town, with forests, located inbetween mountains.
