On my 2004 Blazer, the top 2 bolts thru the bracket and the nut on the stud are actually SAE 9/16. SAE bolts have lines on top to designate hardness. Metric bolts have numbers on top for hardness. So if a 14mm is too small and a 15mm slips off, it's more than likely a 9/16.

Bolts like the one on the back left are why I have a complete set of ratcheting wrenches. I bought them 1 at a time until I completed the set and have been thankful a 100 times I bought them.

Nice informative video Adam. I have a core plug (some call them freeze plugs) behind my pump that I need to replace and this quickly confirmed to me that I did need to remove the pulley to be able to get to it. Quicker than referencing my service manual. ;) Now to dig out my pump pulley puller.

@@LarsonsAutoHelp would I have to do this process to replace only the high pressure line? I know it connects to the back side of the power steering pump

Get your puller set up the way you want to use it, then take it back off. Use a good heat gun on the hub of pulley for 5 to 10 minutes. The heat will have much greater effect on the hub vs the shaft. Put on leather gloves or at least mechanics gloves and install puller carefully. The pulley will come of fairly easy. DO NOT USE AN AIR IMPACT FOR THIS JOB!

you can leave the pulley on and set it aside with the bracket.

No you cannot. There is a bolt that holds it to the block that cannot be accessed until the actual pump is removed from the bracket. That's why he's showing this.
