I LOVE that you printed out words and traced them!!! It's nice to see that someone gave an easy way to do that instead of saying buy labels on etsy or use a Cricut machine that is sponsoring my video. Thank you so much for an easy way to label bins!
You are not only a GREAT organizer, but also a great teacher. I wish the Home Edit ladies were that detailed when demonstrating their work on their Netflix show, rather than focusing on the final product. BRAVO!!!
Yes the home edit is meh “ok” I think they get all the hype because they have a final product that is rainbow coordinated and its eye appealing. Home girl here nailed the organization!
I love how you place all the containers on the shelves to see how it’s going to look before even filling them ! The pantry looks absolutely beautiful !
To get that sticky residue off, just spray a little WD40 lubricant onto a paper towel and rub off the sticky stuff, then wash with soap and water. Works really well for most all sticky residues from labels.
The "before" looked ver nice and cohesive too...but ok the "after" looks better with those new containers you got. I am obsessed with the clear containers.
just a tip ... next time you add new unopened food to older opened food , put the older food in last so that it is used first and lessen the chance of it going bad . i.e. the pancake batter and I Iove the way you labeled the containers ... super cool idea !!
I really like how you labeled your containers! I don't think I've seen labeling done like this before. It's definitely a money saver, and you can find chalkboard markers in different colors. Pantry looks great!!!
I love the idea of printing labels and tracing on the outside with chalk marker as I don’t have a cricut machine - genius!!! Also, taping cooking directions (&/or nutrition info) is awesome; I like the mix of containers as well vs just clear or all one type…Thank you!
I have cut the ingredients paper off & put it on the back inside so we can see for the carbs for my 4 yr old grandson w Type 1 Diabetic. Now we can just look on the container s. Thanks alot for the indepth of organizing. Love it😊
For everyone asking about the metal basket on the bottom it’s called two tier angled farmhouse decor metal wire. Also from mdesign or Amazon!! $49.99 ...
Hi Ashley! I’m new to your channel, but I just love how your pantry turned out! I’ve seen those OXO Pop containers at Costco as well. Every now and then they go on sale. You’ve addressed a lot of concerns that I have had with these dreamy pantry organizational videos because we end with with a lot of mixed items like chips, etc. I like how you used those wooden containers for those because you’re right-all clear is very overwhelming. Your pantry turned out great. You have beautiful handwriting! I have tried the Cricut way of labeling, and it’s such a pain. You have the most practical solution of handwriting the labels on them and taping the instructions on the back! Buying labels doesn’t help, too, because it doesn’t cover everything you need. Rubbing alcohol, nail polish or lighter fluid can also help remove sticky residue, as well as lemon essential oil. If it’s a big label and many of them, sometimes I soak them in hot water, baking soda and dawn.
Goo gone should take off the stickiness. Or, when you remove labels, use a hair dryer to heat up the label as you pull it off and it should come right off.
Another trick with labels on hard plastic I have found is do not wet first. First instinct is to soak it off but that only seems to work well on glass. As someone else said, Goo Gone and Dawn for residue.
I love your mix of putting some stuff in clear airtight containers and putting some stuff in bins still in the pkgs. I also think your free-hand writing looks great - much better than the font.
You are so smart. I would have never thought of labeling these containers like you did. I will definitely do this on my next containers. Thank you for this idea.
I got dollar tree foam board and contact paper, then cut to fit bottoms of wood cupboard shelves. I used mod pod be to make the contact paper stick better. No more peeling or tearing of my shelf liners!
I love watching these videos so much I get crop from my male and female friends cause it's normally not something lot of guys find interesting or enjoying but I do
The last place we rented did not even have a pantry. I ended up using 4 IKEA 2X2 cubes and clear containers and other inexpensive shelving and Dollar Tree containers on top to "make a pantry". It was very visible, but it was functional and worked well with what we had. The cubes have been so helpful whenever we have moved! They have made spaces that didn't have enough functional space suddenly a lot more functional.
Finally discovered a product for removing sticky residue on ANY surface. Spray it onto a microfiber cloth. I got mine at Home Depot - Pure Citrus (air freshener - I know, but trust me) orange scent works best. $4.97 and smells MUCH BETTER than goo gone!
Sooooooo beautiful.... I'm late but sunflower, olive etc etc oil will take the sticky off... Smudge on with your finger and let it sit and then use something to scrap it easily off with, I have an old store/ gift card.
I actually really like the way this came out! Usually when I watch these im not really amazed with the end result but this is great! I really dislike wire shelving as well.
We just moved into a place with a wire shelved pantry. The shelving is fine for the most part, but I also keep my small appliances in there, and found it difficult to slide things like the food processor and Instant Pot on the shelves. I covered only two of the shelves with foam board and contact paper from the Dollar Store, and it works and looks great. Total cost: $4 and about half an hour of time.
For removing sticker residue: Use some type of oil like olive oil and use the soft side of a sponge DO NOT USE THE ROUGH SIDE of the sponge, it will scratch the containers. You can then just use soapy water to wash off the oils so its not slippery
I just got all the same containers and used goo gone. After I get the sticky off I just used some cleaning spray so there was no goo gone oil. Worked like a charm. Plus I love the gone gone smell which is an added bonus
To get sticky label residue off plastic I use small pieces of paper towel with little blobs of peanut butter. I rub vigorously changing to a new piece often. Natural pb works better than the smooth kind. It has just a little more peanut grit over products like Jif or Skippy.
Ashley Whitlatach: nice containers. I'm doin our pantry out, but run out of containers. Hopefully my husband will help keep it tidy. Our children have grown & flown nest. We're in our later 60s.
Ashley, I learned that soaking items in a tub or sink overnight with Unscented OxiClean, will remove labels and the glue. You may need to sponge off the adhesive but it really works. I remove labels from jars and bottles this way. I start with hot water and whisk the OxiClean until dissolved, then I fill whatever I'm repurposing with water and add it to the tub, holding it down until it sinks. It really works well.
Besides taping the cooking instructions on the back of the bins I would also recommend taping the DLUO and the Ingredients parts of the original packaging ...could be quite useful in case you have some relatives/friends coming over visiting who might have any food allergies issues
Love it! It’s so nice having an organized pantry, especially in my case since i have a daughter that eats differently than the rest of us! I just uploaded my pantry organization as well! Sharing the organized love 🥰🥰
Very nice how it came,it’s not messy and super easy to find what you need immediately; the only thing that “scared” me a bit was the amount of industrial/canned food
OMG Ashley my name is Carmela and we are getting ready to buy a house and one of my wants is to have a big kitchen with a walkin pantry and i have already start buying containers im so excited and you have really shedded some light on things Thank You😃
Thanks so much for sharing this! Just moved into our first home and have been struggling to organize our pretty small pantry. These mdesign bins have been so great! I love the look and ease of them and they fit our 2 different sized cabinets well ❤❤
I'm using the large clear containers for long term food storage in the daily pantry. That way I'm more aware of using what I have (because I can see it. I also want to put a start/end date on the container so that I can be more aware of how quickly we go through different products.)
I love the idea of the transfer of labels! I use the same chalk markers for a board I keep in my kitchen for weekly meals. The sticky adhesive can be taken off with Goo be gone. You can find it at Walmart.
Duct tape. Use a tape with a stronger adhesive to remove the leftover adhesive from the labels. Stick a peice of duct tape over the sticky patch and immediately pull it off. It will pull the label adhesive off with it. Repeat a few times for stubborn patches.
I saw another video where they put the instruction labels taped to the bottom of the containers so they're not visible. Both are great ideas/tips!! another tip...you should store apples with potatoes as they keep the potatoes from going bad so quick whereas apples stored with other fruits/veggies makes them spoil quicker. Great video and your pantry looks amazing!! thanks for the inspiration and all the tips!!
Thats a great idea to tape the instructions to the back of the container...I do that too & had no idea what to do w the instructions...ty for sharing great video!
Very nice. I also personally would have labeled the large wood look bins so that your family knows what is inside. In addition, I like to sometimes label the top of containers that are inside the bins so from the top you know what they are.
I need to find some good labels that are temporary and won’t damage these bins since they seem to be made of durable cardboard material? Maybe Velcro some chalk labels or something. I’ll have to research! If you have ideas let me know!
Hey Ashley, to get the sticky glue off from the container labels, I use any cooking oil on a paper towel and just rub it off. It comes off so easy and then I just wash it in soapy water. Hope that helps. :( Cheers Darlene
Loved the way it came out! The only thing that was driving me a little nuts was putting the older food at the bottom of the containers I like using older product first.. but it’s your pantry not mine lol.. really do like the end result tho great job!
The only thing that doesn't work here is the opened packets. If you leave them like that bugs can come. I'd probably get some mismatched jars or something to help keep the contents fresher and keep pesky bugs away. Looks nice though 😊💖
Very cool video! Could we get an update on how the organization worked and didn’t? You should put your bananas in the fridge for longer storage. They can be totally black on the outside but be perfect on the inside. It’s crazy, but it works. Also, potatoes and onions stored so close will make both go bad WAY faster. If you have pets, onions are extremely toxic. I store my potatoes in a bin on the floor, and my onions in a bin on the top shelf. 😉
I don't even have a pantry but i love watching these kind of videos 😅 my fave part is when they pour cereal/pasta into the clear bins. So satisfying 😍
🤣🤣 sames
Same
OMG me too, is my guilty pleasure
You make one if you have enough space in your kitchen. Like shelves units or talk kitchen cabinet or $20 book selves from IKEA
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mmm can do i guess
The "fake" shelves were awesome! Made a big difference. I also love those wood-look bins. So cute!
I love how you place all the containers on the shelves to see how it’s going to look before even filling them ! The pantry looks absolutely beautiful !
Really like you showing all the little goals and lessons learned. It’s nice to see that everyone makes these mistakes, and we can all learn!
To get that sticky residue off, just spray a little WD40 lubricant onto a paper towel and rub off the sticky stuff, then wash with soap and water. Works really well for most all sticky residues from labels.

@@jba4396 me too..
I really like how you labeled your containers! I don't think I've seen labeling done like this before. It's definitely a money saver, and you can find chalkboard markers in different colors. Pantry looks great!!!
The idea of how to label the containers is brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
This idea is all over tik tok, instagram and UA-cam. Do you live under a rock ; :(
I really appreciated the example too!
I love how real u are… u showed us the struggles u had and I appreciate that
I love how you organized into categories, made the food easy to see and use, and also made the pantry look beautiful!! Thanks for the ideas!

Becky Curtis
i wish they just made the labels that easily come off… soooooo satisfying
hot water should loosen the adhesive then you should be able to just roll it off
Lemon essential oil as well!
Nail polish remover that contains acetone will take off residual sticker adhesive easily.
I also think your free-hand writing looks great - much better than the font.
how smart to cover the wire racks ike that!!! love the video
Thank you so much. I just moved in to my new house, and didn't know how to organize my pantry. Now I have a great start.
Smart idea to tape the instructions on back👍🏽 Great job! I love it

You just saved me a Cricut 😂😂. What a genius idea!!! Loved the organization video
plain cooking oil can help remove the residue from the sticker labels
I totally love the idea how you wrote on the containers. Wonderful idea to tape the font inside and write from outside! 👍👍👍 well done!
I always use baking soda and a scrubbing sponge. The sticky comes right off 🙂 great video! 👍🏼

I love the lazy Susan and the bin for the bars
Love the ideas. I just wish I had a pantry that large.

Alcohol takes off the glue without scratching or fogging the plastic.
Olive oil is effective in this case
A vinegar is also a solution
Avon's skin-so-soft works great and doesn't fog the plastic
Blow dryer also works to loosen the glue.
Goo Gone is very good too!
Love how you organized it. I’m just amazed at the amount of processed food
No need to judge what another family eats 🤷♀️
you are so organized, even the before photo is beautiful and organized
You inspired me to stock up on the clear plastic bins for fridge and pantry. Great video and it looks really neat and organized. Diana NZ
Love love love those black baskets
I agree, your handwriting made it much easier to read the labels.
Sooooooo beautiful.... I'm late but sunflower, olive etc etc oil will take the sticky off... Smudge on with your finger and let it sit and then use something to scrap it easily off with, I have an old store/ gift card.
Watch this video again, after several months, and I still love it ❤
I actually really like the way this came out! Usually when I watch these im not really amazed with the end result but this is great! I really dislike wire shelving as well.
Thank you! Ugh it’s the worst!

You really utilized the space. Love it! Great job! You've inspired different ideas for me to redo to my pantry (I'm at the planning stage), Thank you!
I loved this video, especially your fake shelf hack!
Loving the acrylic storage organizers/containers.We have a pantry that have pull-out shelves.
Love the dog food idea in the pantry! Gonna steal that!

Lemon essential oil, of any brand, I've found to take the sticky part of a sticker right off 🙌
Thank you 😊
Or methylated spirits
just organized my pantry today, and used orange essential oil and a flat scraper from pampered chef to get the stickers off!
Nail polish remover takes it off like wiping a counter I promise you! Great video !
Pantry look so organized and amazing!! I don't own a pantry but damn I get a lot of inspiration with this video! Hopefully one day
Duct tape. Use a tape with a stronger adhesive to remove the leftover adhesive from the labels. Stick a peice of duct tape over the sticky patch and immediately pull it off. It will pull the label adhesive off with it. Repeat a few times for stubborn patches.
used to use rubbing alcohol to remove sticker glue off pairs of glasses when i worked at eye masters ages ago

Liquid eye makeup remover does the job on acrylic to remove the leftover sticky residue. An oil based remover then wipe really well
Thats a great idea to tape the instructions to the back of the container...I do that too & had no idea what to do w the instructions...ty for sharing great video!

Hey Ashley, to get the sticky glue off from the container labels, I use any cooking oil on a paper towel and just rub it off. It comes off so easy and then I just wash it in soapy water. Hope that helps. :( Cheers Darlene
Lemon essential oil on anything sticky! 🍋 leave on for a couple mins and wipe off 😊 works great

So beautiful your pantry.
eucalyptus oil will remove the adhesive. we used it in school settings! I love your aesthetic!
I like your approach. My pantry is half the size of yours, so I am keen to see how I can follow your 💡 ideas. Thanks very much.
Go on with ur amazing work , it is such a pleasure to see ur work ,do keep sharing , 👍
Loved the way it came out! The only thing that was driving me a little nuts was putting the older food at the bottom of the containers I like using older product first.. but it’s your pantry not mine lol.. really do like the end result tho great job!
Makes sense because at stores even there they put older in the front
That really bothered me too. 😅 But love the video all the same.
Annoyed me too although I wouldn't mix old with new
The really small containers work well for salad toppings too
Thank you for showing your pantry it looks great
Where do I find the produce swing thats at the bottom?
The only thing that doesn't work here is the opened packets. If you leave them like that bugs can come. I'd probably get some mismatched jars or something to help keep the contents fresher and keep pesky bugs away. Looks nice though 😊💖
