    Darth Sidious labeled Lightsaber Form VII as the “Sith style.” Formally known as Juyo, it was restricted by the Jedi Order, as it was the most ferocious form of lightsaber combat and many who practiced it fell to the dark side.

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
    During the final years of the Republic, Jedi Master Mace Windu, with the assistance of fellow master Sora Bulq, developed a variation of Form VII called Vaapad. Although it still carried the risk of leading to the dark side, Windu described Vaapad as more of a mindset than a fighting technique. Windu himself said, “I developed Vaapad to answer my own weakness and channel my inner darkness into a weapon of the light.” Vaapad demanded that a Jedi embrace the thrill of battle and the desire to win, contradicting the Jedi Code’s tenet of “There is no emotion, there is peace.” This transformed the Jedi into one side of a superconducting loop, where the darkness flowed through them without corrupting them. But even use of this variation was restricted by the Jedi Council.

Darkside users feed on the force and therefore the only way to have balance is to exterminate them. The Jedi at that point were soldiers for the republic, so they also had to go, so that a new generation of Jedi, with true balance could come. That is Luke and his academy.

    I like Mace Windu, but he was a Jedi Master on the Council that was a contradiction to all the things HE would hold other Jedi accountable for. He mastered a fighting style forbidden by the Jedi, but gave Anakin hell. He tasted the Darkside to be a conduit, but forbid others from taking a similar path as he did. Therefore it makes his character one that either you love him hate him, or is just indifferent about him. But there is no denying that he was a highly skilled Jedi Master.

      @@Myrid-oo4xm Anakin was given hell as a 6 year old boy when Qui-Gon Jinn brought him before the Council, but Windu took on a Force Sensitive child that was damn near a teenager when he found her. He trained her and she even had a seat on the Council at one point. Windu was a by the book Jedi, and the Jedi book and philosophies were deeply flawed, and aided in their downfall. That’s why so many Jedi defected and either joined the Darkside, the Separatist movement led by Count Dooku, or went their own way like Ashoka Tano.

      @@kayenby No it isn’t, you just don’t comprehend the statement. It means that there are people who will argue that Mace Windu was the Greatest Jedi ever, then there are those who will argue that he is overrated as a Jedi and was deeply flawed, and then there are fans of the Star Wars franchise who can give a flip about Mace Windu, because he didn’t matter to how we knew things would turn out with Anakin. That’s what my statement meant. If you’ve seen discussions on Mace Windu, people just make a big deal over nothing, and many have not read the novels to get a better understanding of the characters. They just solely depend on movies that, George Lucas overtinkered with, and wrongly left out things that would kill a lot of the senseless chatter in comments sections.

    • @thescepterofjudah12
      @thescepterofjudah12 Рік тому +2

      @@Myrid-oo4xm What are you talking about? Your comments are just out of nowhere. Are you talking about Windu or Anakin? And what’s the basis of your statement? Because my point is that Mace Windu was wielding a fighting style that was forbidden by the same Council that overseen the Order, but the main spokesman for the Council gets to wield the style, master it, won’t teach it to worthy Jedi, and NEVER used Vapaad until he fought Palpatine. Anakin was grilled by Mace Windu, and he told Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan that the boy was too old, but yet Windu took a preteen girl and trained her as a Jedi. Windu like ALL other Force Sensitive children were taken from their family or given up to the Jedi Order by their families for a better life. So I take the position that Windu did things, but AFTER HE did them, he would prevent others from doing it. This (along with the Council’s arrogance and complacency) caused many within the Order to leave. That’s all bro. No one is tearing Mace Windu down as a character. I like him, as his Lightsaber was the very first one I bought, but if we’re being honest and non-biased about his character, he was not the most likable Jedi when you know his backstory leading up to him getting a seat on the Council.

    I can understand Windu’s mindset, even as a Jedi. The Dark is the path to absolute power and in a shorter amount of time. The Light is slower, but with no corruption involved. Mace being more dark sided need Vaapaad to keep himself focused and center in the light side. Being the only Jedi in the Clone Era to dance between light and dark, one could call him the closest individual to a Bendu, but when dabbling with the dark even if it’s used for the light it still had its side effects. Easy example, Mace pulling back his lightsaber to swing down at Palpatine rather than thrust forwards into his chest. Wanting to see the helplessness in Palpatines eyes as he would’ve taken his last breath rather than either arresting him or going in for the swift kill. Dark traits for someone who’s been in the light for a very long time.
