Scrim has been sober for almost 3 years I think. It’s crazy how different he sounds compared to past projects. Beautiful transformation 🤙
yeah he got sober 2019 and ruby went to rehab October 2020
Me next but I’m not rich and can’t go to a private detox center 😅
Yes sir Ruby still smokes weed but he sober off hard drugs
@@general.disdain it’s a coincidence
Can’t wait to see them in person!!!!😊👍
51/50 is the code for detaining a person who is in a mental crisis and is a threat to themselves or others and I love how Scrim used that in the song. Their lyrics and wordplay are unmatched!
wow
It's called a 302 in PA, my rap name used to be KK302
Cigarette wet bumpin boosie badazz
germ used it on dirtiersnastier$uicide also
It’s so brilliant
This mans open mindedness is enough for me to believe in humanity again
Honestly just a truly happy dude
Fr
I love this man’s energy and innocence
He’s the supportive friend. For real though it’s nice to see someone go that far in life and keep innocence.
suicide boys should be their own genre they are so talented and have gotten me through some tough times
Would memphis rap be poppin the way it is now without the boys reviving that sound??? Scrim really did bring that style back imo.
G59 to the grave
Exactly like i dont really consider it rap the words are too calculated and its just diffrent yk
@@EvanTro17 for sure, I consider it art frfr
@@minimojobot I mean, there’s a completely different style and wave of Memphis music that’s basically mainstream right now. So on that point idk but their influence of the way they create is profound elsewhere throughout music rn
This whole album has many songs that i think you would enjoy reacting to. Looking foward to more $uicideboy$, loving the reactions as always 😁
I completely agree I’d love to see him reacting to the rest of the album
Also I think he would have liked the matte black music vid but he does gotta use the lyric video
In constant sorrow, 1000 blunts, better in 2015, matte black, eulogy. Alot of good songs on this one
whole albums so fire
@@snipplez8657 no skips
I literally just came back from one of their concerts. One of the best times I've ever had. I love Scrims mental health awareness speech at the end of each show he does. He lets everyone know their troubles they've been through with drugs and general mental health. He makes it important that there is always a way to get help.
That’s so cool I went to the sf show and thought that they just did that there not each show. Definitely the craziest performance I’ve ever seen them put on.
Shit was amazing, was at the sf one. Lost my ski mask if y’all found one tho.
Just went to their show in NE. Absolutely breath taking.
I went to the Milwaukee one with my girlfriend and it was amazing
Seattle was so fucking dope
They came out of the FUCKING CEILING
Damn yes that's what I needed today. You litterally saved my day!
I've been listening to this Album on repeat, since it got released. They are doing so much better mentally, you can tell in their lyrics. I'm a huge $B fanboy in the past years but they just topped themselves again on a different level. I love these guys! Please more of these boys and I would also love more LiL PeeP! They are my most heard artists by far and helped me through so rough times!
And you, Tom, helped me also alot just by your pov about this music. I'm happy to be a member of your family and the family of G59! Love all of you guys!
Btw. the 3 fingers in the air means basically tripple 6. You gotta take a quick look at a concert of them. You'll understand afterwards :D
Me too bro, love the comment and feel the same exact way. Peep and Suicide boys helped me so much. This album has been on repeat for the week.
If you like their journey and how far they came. You can really see the transition in the last song of “I wanna die in New Orleans” the song is called “I no longer fear the razor guarding my heel”. That album is the one that you can really hear lyrics such as “the drugs were fun but now become a problem” and you can really see there’s a change in the way they live life. Since then their music has changed a lot, I think it’s different and refreshing as it may have been boring if they stuck to their old material all the time. It really keeps their music fresh and they just don’t miss. When you compare their early saga stuff like the k*ll yourself sagas, compared to their new full fledged albums, it’s amazing. I recommend “I no longer fear the razor guarding my heel”, especially for its length.
as the years go by
That line is from putrid pride tho d;
@@BillSkov yeah I got my shit confused but I know what I meant to say. Fuck it
ian reading allat💀
I was thinking about this yesterday and in my opinion the moment they changed the album's title from *I Don't Want To Die In New Orleans* to *I Want To Die In New Orleans* is what solidified the beginning of their transformation as artists, and that transformation culminates in the last line of Long Term Effects of SUFFERING ("Keep on marching on").
The Ruby and $crim on that verse are completely different from the Ruby and $crim a few years back. The boy$ grew up and became $uicideMen lol
This song is CRAZY good! I'm so happy you reacted to this one 🔥
If you hear any G59 reference, Grey 59 is the record label so for lyrics such as "I ride for my family that's Grey*59" I think it's a reference for that. I could be wrong tho, that's just my interpretation
🖤
He's not just talking about their label, At first it was their sorta "gang" I guess you could call it, then record label, and now its a massive family. We're all G*59 and we're their family and they are ours
@@Mathuzela Oh, I think I didn't explain myself properly, well obviously I didn't 😂 but yeah I meant that the artists that are part of G59 are like their little family in a way, like Ramirez for example. He mentions G59 in his lyrics and I automatically assume they are all friends, I mean they have to be right lol
@@LucyBarlett Ramirez is part of G59 so yes
@@keonnaranjo2486 Exactly why I mentioned him lol
Love your videos. At 9:50, you are correct. First verse was $crim, second was Ruby. Ruby has many sounds to his voice; he can rap, scream, sing, he has incredible range. $crim is the producer. From what I know, he is the one who puts the beats together. I believe that $crim went to rehab around 2018 and has been clean since. Doesn't even do marijuana anymore, his only vice is cigarettes now. Ruby is less translucent on this issue. Ruby has a line in Materialism As A Means To An End, where he states he spent more money on rehab than a car. This indicates he at least attended a rehab program but he isn't as public about his addictions. In general, anyone who is a fan, can tell you that they both are in better places now than they were when they started/coming up. No more hard drugs, while they still talk about it some in their new album, I am of the mindset it is just a facade. I am very happy for the boy$ and very happy to see you getting down with their music. As others have stated, this entire album shows progression and I think you would really enjoy a lot of the songs.
ruby still smokes weed and cigs but that is all
I don't think it's a facade, more like talking about relapses and the temptation to relapse (it's in the title of the album lol). Also a lot of the songs in their recent albums are talking about past events, past relationships etc.
Yeah man, you nailed it!
If you get the chance, you should react to Eulogy off this album. This song gives the listeners a glimpse of who Scrim and Ruby really are.
Personally it’s my least favorite off the album
he reacted on a livestream, you can find it on his channel
@@slumpgod1064 from a pure rap/production standpoint it is my least favorite as well but lyrically its one of the realest songs they’ve put out in my opinion
Loving this album, and especially this song. I'm so glad you're reacting to it
The first one you hear rapping is $crim, he has been sober for more than two years now after being addicted to opioids, xans and a lot more. The line about "money fucking up my fam" leads back to the problems he used to have with his family, he was in an abusive relationship where the girl made him think that his parents were using him for money and gifts, I think they're doing better now though.
Their music usually has a religious theme. People often think they worship the devil, especially in older songs where they talk about him a lot but I think that's them referring to drugs.
Yeah whenever they talk about the devil it’s usually like drugs or I think also money as well, I might have to go watch the no jumper interview again. And yeah Scrims I’m pretty sure 3 and a half years or maybe even almost 4 years sober soon, very proud of him.👏 Psychotherapist is honestly the best and I’m glad he’s getting so into The Boy$ and wants to know more about them, it’s amazing
@@p0nkd Oh shit 3 years now? Damn that's so long. I think ruby checked into rehab in 2020 and from what I heard he just smokes weed nowadays, other than that he is clean. So fucking proud of the boys for making it this far though fr. I hope Tom reacts to the whole album its straight fire
why does the guy in your pfp look like he shidded and is looking over his mom sleeping about to tell her
They definitely were luciferarians and serious about it. Now I don’t know what they follow
The film that was used to make this video is called "Viy" or "Spirit of Evil." Released in 1967, it was the very first Soviet-era horror film released by the USSR, and it's based off the novel of the same name by Nikolai Gogol. It's a masterpiece that still holds up to this day.
Thanks for this
If you have time, and our willing, it would be very worth it to do a review on their entire new album. A lot of it is a new to there previous sounding music, and a lot of it is similar to their older style of music. Very lyrical and heavy set on their new life
G59 is their own record label as well, three fingers in the air is referring to their hand sign with the index and thumb fingers together making a zero. Scrim said on a concert this year that it has been 4 years since he's sober.
I love how much you appreciate the music
I just saw the boys live a few weeks ago, their music saved me as cheesy as that sounds. They touch their audience ❤️
It’s not cheesy at all
I love how you got into their songs! And if there's something I admire about $uicideboy$ is how they matured, not only as artist, but as human beings that, like us, feel and suffer.
Going to their concert next week! These two have helped me through so much throughout the years can’t believe im about to see them‼️
The video is from an old soviet film (1967) "Viy", basically bunch of students got drunk and accidentally killed a witch that turned to be a beautiful lady (which is in the clip). Classics. Great reaction as always
Welcome to the G59 family RT. Your videos are awesome, just like the SB. I'm looking forward to you making new videos, especially on the boys. I promise you digging deeper will be rewarded. Getting into their mental state and really trying to understand the lyrics reveals interesting personalities, forged by though live situations, a hedonistic live style, a challenging past, a promising future and everything in between. I can safely say that I am not a drug addict but I have been there done that. I've been in the trenches you know. Doubting myself and this life. I discovered them going through a tough time myself and I very much felt understood, entertained and like I wasn't alone. I really like your innocent and honest reaction to them. They are very authentic people and also very direct. They experienced a lot of things that most normal people won't ever experience and are very up front about it. Not trying to hide it but in fact saying it as it is, or even exaggerating the already crazy enough thing we call life. It shines a light on the dark spots, that many people won't ever have to see. What you make of it is up to you. I really like how they can make soft songs, with hard beats, or vice versa. The switching between negativity and positivity, irony and seriousness, sadness and happyness, doubt and hope creates a beautiful synthesis of feelings. It's amazing to see their progess as artists as well as personalities. They have changed my life for the better. I hope they will do that for you too.
Here's a few things I want to mention as (hopefully constructive) criticism. The G59 fans have heard most of their lyrics before, so us listening back to their lyrics is not the same as you listening for the first time (which is a pleasure to see). A thing I would suggest, in prospect of me watching all of your new videos is: Try to let more of the lyrics pass before commenting. They often have lines that span over multiple bars and double entendres. So often it would be better to listen to the whole 8 bars instead of just 1 or 2 bars before commenting on that. One bar might be the thesis, the next one the anti thesis, the next one the synthesis so to say. It would be cool if you could try to apply this scheme of analyzing the lyrics. I would also suggest that you don't skip back that often. You should check out the site "genius" where you can find lyrics to all of their songs. You could have it open maybe on a second monitor (if you have one) and let the videos just play out, focusing on the visuals, while then reading the lyrics (with the deeper meaning explained in the annotations) on the genius site. The cool thing about genius is that the lyrics are usually annotated. So if you want to dive deeply into the meanings of the lyrics it's the perfect place to do that. There's a lot of slang being used that only druggies or people into rap understand.
Your reactions are very entertaining to watch tho, don't get me wrong. Just try to find a good balance of playing the song/watching the video or reading the lyrics and commenting on it. I think theres a lot of philosophical topics to be talked about regarding their lyrics and I really want you to do that (even more). But also I want to watch your reaction to it. I think the key here is to let more lyrics come together before commenting on them, then commenting on them for even longer. That's just my two cents. Anyways, looking forward to more videos on them and more videos of you in general.
Another thing I want to mention: The SB are very open minded. I honestly believe that maybe if you do some more videos on them and then contact them, saying you would love to have them on as guests for a podcast, they might be down to do just that. That would seriously make my day. It would be benificial for all of us. You would get a shit ton more subscribers, which you definitely deserve, they would get even more attention to their awesome music and their fans would FINALLY get another video of them just talking for an hour or two. That would be so awesome :D
been loving the suicideboys reaction therapy. it feels so reliving to have this type of comment over suicideboys songs. love ya
GREY FOR LIFE
I love watching your suicideboys reactions cause they can talk about sex drugs killings but Tom can see through it all and hear the words. Keep up the work guys we love it ❤️❤️
Hey Tom, I love that you said you like to just have a conversation with them and talk about their struggles. Funny enough, I got to talk to the both of them for about 15 minutes after a show a few months ago. They actually listen to others and their struggles and share their own stories. $crim is really big into sports and said that helped a lot, ruby wasn’t as open about it but they were so genuine about trying to help others
So many amazing vibes from this guy. Him singing to the music is uncontrollably contagious. Makes me feel normal when I see someone like reaction therapy vibing to the same music that we all love. Saw the boys in concert in 2017 and it was truly life changing.
$crim (one of the guys), he’s been clean for like 2 years.
it's so grateful to watch him like this cuz he was really really sick in 2017/2018
I can't even explain how happy I've been with all the $uicideboy$ content recently. Since finding your channel a few months ago it's been nothing but amazing content. Keep up the great work Reaction Therapy!!
Love your reactions boss, really put a smile on my face, love your energy and everything! swag
I’m so happy you reacted to this, love the video!
Your reactions are so refreshing, the juxtofposition of lyrics vs the feeling they provide is the point
Recently went to greyday 2022 in san francisco and I gotta tell you theyre saving more lives than they ever have. The emphasis on fun but also mental health is awesome and makes me a proud fan of the boys
$uicideboy$ lyrics are particularly touching to those who have been growing up on their music. Rappers kind of have their own language sometimes, and $B have no shortage of hidden meanings and poeticism behind their lyrics/music.
I've talked with some people about this before and you can almost class $B as performative art. Their music is so deeply connected to their real life story and journey that if you listen to all their albums back to back you can easily see that journey unfold and you get a complete story. Albums like IWTDINO or LTEOS are greatly elevated because of that.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE $B reactions. i love them
I’m so thankful you keep reacting to songs by $B. Thank you for not shying away from them. Hope you’re well, Tom! 💜 keep your fingers crossed for me getting a puppy (been looking for one these past few weeks). I’m sure that will help me feel better both physically and mentally.
React to "in constant sorrow" by them, I feel like there is a lot of stuff you can acknowledge as a psychotherapist
I was thinking putrid pride would be good as well
I just saw them live last night, they’re really amazing people with a really wholesome story.🙏
Was so excited to see you posted this, especially after I recommended it. Love your work, love the words of love and support. Thanks for everything you do.
Edit: Dunno if you saw the other music video they did of this same song, but its worth checking out as well. It includes a lot of visuals of their home and family members, as well as some home footage at the ending.
⬆️This would be a great follow up, a reaction to their official music video to Matte Black as it’s the first one they’ve released in 4 years. I think I’ve watched it 20x picking it apart because it was such a fucking delight and full of meaningful morsels. Ruby did p much all the editing himself if I’m remembering correctly
This whole album is loaded with a lot of lyrics that I would love to hear your thoughts on, please do more of them. All of them are good
i seen the title and got so excited, ive been waiting on this one and ashes of luxury so this i can already tell im gonna love this video
$crim specifically but also ruby helped me through some of my worst nightmares with life and addiction & helped through recovery as well. My emotional attachment to their music will always be there because of that. More $uicideboy$ from my favorite therapist please 🙌🏻
this man is so wholesome. love your reactions 🙏🙏
i love how you pump hope and energy into my brain by just vibing to the beat
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE
The Three finger in the air is the G59* Simbol, they always make the crowd do and i just love it
i've been so excited for this episode to come, thanks tom i love you man
i love your suicideboys reactions i hope they keep coming as long as you are wanting to do it.
Love the reaction! Appreciate all the hard work! Keep em coming!!
Scrim in particular dealt with a very heavy heroine addiction close to the beginning of their career. Scrim describe his addiction being so bad that his cousin Ruby (the other suicide dude) told him that SuicideBoys weren't gonna be a thing unless he sobered up. Of course he got clean through rehab and such but thats just a lil backstory for you :)
We need this interview
I just wanted to take time to say that I really do appreciate your channel and the dedication you have towards the people who watch your content as well as your dedication to explore music that you wouldn't have known about had other people not suggested or if you just felt compelled to dive in to the unknown (sometimes uncomfortable) if there was a sensitive issue within the song. Suicideboys are one of my favorite groups of all time because of the fact that they talk about the stuff that no one else will. They paint no facade and yet with their type of fame they also have to protect who they really are inside from the world (not always) but people get burned and learn how to cope or trust people again and sometimes that journey is life-long and sometimes it is something dealt with quickly. To each their own in this journey called life. God is good no matter what.
YESSSS cant wait for the next song! Much love take care
Dude I just got goose bumps listening to this and you reacting. Love you dude and your reactions, watched this the first tiem and god damn, whenever Im feeling down and I do some druggies on the side to cope, I listen to matte black and take lesser and lesser, I have support here and there, keeping my head up because of $uicideboy$. god i rlly thank em
Thanks so much my friend, appreciate you😊👌
you absolutely kill these videos, i love your channel so much please never stop making these!
Thanks sir for you perspective on this group.
thank you Tom for this awesome video i love your reactions so much !! so nice idea to you have interview with $uicideboy$ i like it
I’m so happy I found this you’ve genuinely made my day
Their Journey is unmatched. Most artists never changed and ended up gone. These guys are amazing
one of the ways i interpret music like this is understanding that a lot of it is abstract thought. like they pull so many impulsive and subconscious thoughts they have and put it together in a way that rhymes and flows. so not all of it has a deep meaning but it’s more just a reflection of their mindset. that why there’s random references that sometimes seem out of place (“show me how that p- shaved”).
Love the reviews thanks for being open minded!
Love your energy
I love your sb recation vids if ima be honest there the only ones I watch but I love how this old mane is enjoying sb music as much as I do
Glad we finally get these reactions, the boys did their mf THING on this album hope to see the rest of the album soon
Thank you for being who you are and doing these reaction videos! They have been really helping me out even though I know it's not real physiciological help
Lessgo been waiting on this one. good 1st song choice !
haha i love this one! they got a lot of other good songs from this album, but this one is really great. thanks for reacting to it
greyfivenine is the record label they founded, based off the highway in louisiana & grey coming from the fact they didnt care about black or white, who you were, what you looked like. you are correct, scrim is the lower raspy voice and ruby is the higher pitched/singing. this album to me was sort of an ode to their past, acknowledging that while they've come a long way (both of them are off hard drugs now and have been for awhile) they still arent by any means happy. would love to see you react to eulogy off that album. great videos as always!
he reacted to eulogy yesterday on a livestream yo
@@joshbintrappin4591 ah shit i'll have to go find it, i usually miss the livestreams
The boys have helped through so much and they make pure beautiful art, and yes a lot of this album is based on their past. They have come so far and have improved so much since 2015. Can’t describe in words how great they make me feel.
almost every show scrim does a talk now that hes sober and tells people its okay to get help and to go get it and to look at them and see that theres hope because he thought he was gonna die an addict and just die with all the bad stuff he was doing/taking. i love these guys they really know how to send a message and still be amazing with their music. i just saw them live and itwas an amazing experience. id like to see 5 grand at 8 to one be reviewed by you because i feel like thats the most relatable song to me but i know youre a busy guy
also u were right about which one is ruby and scrim. first was scrim second was ruby
made my day thanks tom!
Just saw them in San Diego !!!! Love their energy 👍🏽❤️🔥
love ur reactions!
i seen them at a concert august 13th and they look and sound amazing really proud of them
This song and The Number You Have Dialed Is Not In Service are my comfort songs when I hear them I immediately feel better I’m getting the lyrics “When Life Gets Hard Keep On Marching Even If The Finish Line Is Far Or You Have To Push The Car Keep On Marching On” tattooed on me they mean a lot🥰🥰🫶
I was legit thinking you should review this song while I was listening to it today love the video
Ruby was the second verse you are right scrim is usually a lower voice and slower imo ruby is more high pitch for sure… watch some of their interviews to really learn their voices
Thank you for doing this guys!!
love your reactions it's very interesting to see the reaction to their songs from someone who is a professional rather than people that go through mental problems of course both are 2 very interesting viewpoints
Been waiting on this good suicide boys are such a vibe
Just saw them live last night and scrim gave a beautiful speech , even more amazing live. I really hope they see this video
You’re right about $crim and Ruby too! Ruby implements a lot more singing and different tempos. They compliment eachother so well.
Been watching all your $B reactions and i love it
Early 😳 and thank you, this is top 3 for me off the album 🙏 You shoukd definitely watch the music video to this as well, it has some heartwarming stuff from their family
thank you so much for the reaction on this song from the Boy$!!
EXCELLENT TIMING, I just went to GREY DAY San Francisco a few days ago and this is just the cherry on the top (no pun intended)
Their new album has tributes to their old songs but they have gone through so much change and it’s amazing
BEAUTIFUL REACTION AND INTERESTING BREAKDOWN
Scrim went from shooting up a gram of Heroin everyday and doing Pills to complete Sobriety, Ruby also used to do Heroin and Crack, he only smokes weed nowadays. You can look up some interviews or maybe the new video from CUFBOYS, he covered their whole story in 10 minutes
Love the album so much it's a spiritual journey can't watch to see them in September
I hope they see these to help them see how many people they truly helped love these videos
thank you man
ima see these boys tomorrow night, im pumped!
this visual is taken from a Russian Soviet movie, “VIY” 1967, this is a scary novel by Gogol. This lady in coffin is a witch in a dead girl’s body
Yeah Ruby tried to help multiple times to Scrim with his drug addiction untill Scrim touched bottom and tried to get clean by himself going into some type of association against drug addiction and it surprisingly went well since a couple months later he cut of his dreads as a sign of an end of a dark Era and he remained clean for more than 3 years now, since march of 2019 till now
Hope this helps you to know more about their current life and past history
They on tour as well I suggest you go to one of their shows and experience the live performances by them . Saw them a week ago , San Diego
next live stream you should listen to their albums in whole as opposed to one at a time. they have a bunch of great music and listening to them one by one doesnt do their greatness any justice
Your the best reaction therapy ☺️ I'm not sure if anyone but the suicide boys can explain how the exact lyrics relate to the suicide boys but personally I relate to everything in this song it feels like a personal thing like this song was just made for me in every way and I don't want to get into it but the lyrics just hit me so hard it's undeniable
Scrims been sober for some years now he was addicted to hard drugs , i personally like their music because it’s relatable and makes suicideboys fans feel like we are not alone and we all have our problems/struggles in our lives
Proud of u brother doin better now
I never comment on reaction videos, but you really have a good understanding about the lyrics and the meanings behind them on your first listen. That is impressive.
today is my 19th birthday and seeing you react to my favorite song on the new album of my favorite artists is the best birthday gift ever!
Your reactions are hilarious keep up with the $uicideboy$ videos ❤️🖤 they have some really good songs if you haven’t sat and listened to most of them
Saw them live 🔥🔥

That's an old Soviet horror movie on the background of the lyrics called Viy (1967). That lady that flying on the coffin is a witch, she trying to kill young priest who came in small village to sing a funeral. She cant see and touch him because he draw a defence chalk circle. I highly recommended you to watch this movie especially because it was professionally voiced into english. Dont want to do spoilers, just tell you that Viy is a demon in slavic mythology that can kill human by eye contact with him.
