There are plenty of changes. They have changed the concave screen with an intricate screen framing ..this was actually the masterpiece of the cinema. The interior was beige colour with dark burgundy curtain and paste green seats. They did not give taht much care to the colour theme this time. To be honest it looked a lot more classy that time.

@@WalkwithAlbi You know your numbers. But let me tell you. I am from chalakudy and an ardent fan of both these Theatres. Both these Theatres do not have the old charm . Surabhi was massive with a huge 70mm curved screen with full screen projection with a massive balcony of about 340 seats. Infact the screen size of surabhi was much bigger than old Ragam. They reduced the screen size by the year 2000 , may be to enhance clarity with respect to the new technologies. But that was the first compromise. Then they divided the theatre in two by making balcony a different screen. That was surabhi RIP. But still not bad of an experience and screen 2 is much comfortable as stadium seating of old balcony is used. Screen 1 is reasonably big but the seating position may make you feel uncomfortable. But still not too bad. Ragam after renovation the screen format and framing has changed . Its probably same size but less concave and looks less stylish compared to the old huge concave screen and the beige frame that bordered the screen. But as a matter of fact Ragam stands still great with a lot of old features still in place yet modernised where as surabhi is just one of the numerous cinemas available in the state.

Top Gun കണ്ടപ്പോ എനിക്ക് പ്രശ്നമുള്ളതായി തോന്നിയില്ല. വേറെ ഒരാൾ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു വിക്രം കാണാൻ കേറിയപ്പോൾ ക്ലാരിറ്റി കുറവായിരുന്നു എന്ന്. Lamb ന്റെ കാലാവധി കഴിഞ്ഞത് കൊണ്ട് ആയിരിക്കും. നിലവിൽ ഏറ്റവും advanced ആയിട്ടുള്ള 4K projector ആണ് രാഗം ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്.

@@WalkwithAlbi You know your numbers. But let me tell you. I am from chalakudy and an ardent fan of both these Theatres. Both these Theatres do not have the old charm . Surabhi was massive with a huge 70mm curved screen with full screen projection with a massive balcony of about 340 seats. Infact the screen size of surabhi was much bigger than old Ragam. They reduced the screen size by the year 2000 , may be to enhance clarity with respect to the new technologies. But that was the first compromise. Then they divided the theatre in two by making balcony a different screen. That was surabhi RIP.
But still not bad of an experience and screen 2 is much comfortable as stadium seating of old balcony is used. Screen 1 is reasonably big but the seating position may make you feel uncomfortable. But still not too bad.
Ragam after renovation the screen format and framing has changed . Its probably same size but less concave and looks less stylish compared to the old huge concave screen and the beige frame that bordered the screen. But as a matter of fact Ragam stands still great with a lot of old features still in place yet modernised where as surabhi is just one of the numerous cinemas available in the state.
