7-Channel Discrete Amplifier: The Marantz SR5013 is equipped with a power amplifier that reproduces high-fidelity sound in surround mode with equal quality and power for all channels, true to the original sound. The power amplifier circuit adopts a discrete-circuit configuration that achieves high-quality surround sound reproduction. The 7 channel amplifier is rated at 100 watts with 2 channels driven (20-20kHz, 8-ohms, 0.08% THD).
HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module): Featuring exclusive Marantz HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) technology found on our Reference Series components, the SR5013 incorporates multiple HDAM modules which provide superior low noise wideband performance in an all-discrete configuration, compared to conventional op amp ICs. Current Feedback Topology: In addition to HDAM technology, the SR5013 also features Current Feedback instead of the typical voltage feedback configuration. A Marantz innovation introduced on our very first audiophile amplifiers more than 60 years ago, Current Feedback technology provides a wide closed-loop bandwidth and very high slew rate, delivering superior fidelity with wideband audio sources.
Amplifier Assignment: The SR5013's seven discrete amplifier channels can be configured to accommodate your type of home theater setup.
7.1ch (Surround Back or Front Height): The AV receiver's amplifier channels can be configured for 7.1ch playback with Surround Back speakers or Front Height speakers, so you can enjoy Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD movie soundtracks. In this configuration there are no Zone 2 or Dolby Atmos speakers.
5.1.2ch Dolby Atmos: This amplifier configuration provides 5.1.2ch playback using either top front, top middle, Dolby Atmos enabled front, or Dolby Atmos enabled surround speakers for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X movie soundtracks. In this configuration there are no Front Height, Surround Back, or Zone 2

Just a cool suggestion... Instead of covering those old volume control locations with a blank plate you can use the Lutron Pico remote control for Audio and pair it via a Lutron hub with each Sonos Amp. This will allow you maintain a wall mounted volume control for each zone for the customer. This way the customer does not have to carry around their phone at all times.

Do you have to go out from the cable box into the line in on the connect or could you go from the marantz’s zone 2 pre out? The mini directv receivers do not have audio outs.

The Sonos boost also gives all the Sonos products that be IP address so there’s not a bunch of device with different ips on the network

Great vid, but I wanted to cheer something you said. You indicated that the bridge is used or necessary because it helps with the phone streaming music to the Sonos. The phone does not stream any music to the Sonos. The Sonos units themselves stream the music through the internet or the Wi-Fi. The phone is only used as a controller. In other words, you can start a song playing from Spotify, and you can turn your phone off. Or you could even leave the house with your phone. The phone is not necessary for continuing to stream music, only to control the Sonos and change settings.
Mick Lord that is incorrect, the phone can be used as a controller as the new sonos amps have airplay. If you leave the home or turn wifi off on the phone the music will stop. It can also be used traditionally to control sonos.
Having a Marantz avr they could have gone with HEOS. Do you find Sonos better sounding?

Won't you get sync issue with the TV sending audio from the cable box into the sonos, or does the Marantz put a delay on the video into the TV to account for that?

I have an older home with 10 zones. Each room with separate volume controls. Don’t want to purchase 10 amps and going to double up rooms on single amps (Sonos says 2 pair of 8 ohm speakers is ok). Do the old volume controls pose any potential harm to the amps if left in line? If I remove them and wire speakers directly, I have to have the same volume in both rooms which isn’t ideal. Thanks
How does the Morantz receiver stay cool in the Cabinet when it is closed. Will it over heat, when you have it on for a long time or when playing it loud.

Most people have existing amps. I have 8 existing amps. How can I convert this system to an 8 zone Sonos system but still keep my existing amps.
Use 8 Sonos Port to feed your existing amplifiers.
