A good turn out and a nice paint job. I seem to recognise the captive nut method from somewhere 🤔 but an all round good turn out Cliff. I too am waiting for the weather to improve, dark clouds are over us until next week at least.
Fiber glass, epoxy .. really going into fancy materials. I wonder if you will upgrade to aluminum any time soon ;) I think I missed how you formed the spats. I have to look back into the old videos. Those details you put on really make a difference!
Cliff you are right my friend, it is a busy time of year for us between work and the channel! You know I'll watch though...I really enjoy your channel. I've used similar techniques to reinforce areas like brushing epoxy on fiberglass or carbon fiber sheets, and also I've used micro balloons mixed in epoxy. Same result I imagine. Brilliant and beautiful way to add ballast where you need it. The stitched in gear covers and wheel pants are as classic looking as the rest of it. Set's it off perfectly! I didn't know you were a full scale pilot! I don't know how i missed that with all the CH videos I've watched! What kind of plane did you own? From the pic of the wheel pants it looks like maybe an Ultra Light?
Hi Adam, I didn't think to use micro balloons I've got some of those as well, next time perhaps. Yes, I had an X-Air microlight, many hours of fun, here's a video of a local flight I made after solo but before I qualified, unfortunately the battery went on my camera but you get the idea, cheers 👍 ua-cam.com/video/P5E04J6kHhM/v-deo.html
Fantastic job Cliff. You’re a Master Builder of landing gear and everything else. Jeff in LA USA
Nah, only average Jeff, thanks 🙂👍
Great idea to use brass where you know moisture will cause rust if the parts are steel. Lovely striping job, too
Thanks Dennis, using steel components just wasn't an option, things rust so quickly 🙂👍
Brilliant Cliff, great you stitched as the scale has. Master at work 🫡
Thanks Chris, they were a fun project 🙂
awesome cliff, take a break mate, you deserve it!
Hi Jes, thanks, I'll allow myself five minutes to consider my next build, cheers 👍
Very nice job Cliff, really suit the vintage plane do those spats 😀👍
I thought so Ian, without she would look like a duchess going to the ball in Wellington boots 😯👍
great work buddy!
Thanks Dutch 👍
It looks great
Thanks Paul, the spats really set off a model of this age, she deserves them! 😁👍

Hi Nick, thanks, the captive nut idea is as old as the hills of course 😁👍
@@CliffHarveyRCPlanes As are we Cliff.❤️
I squeezed the maiden flight into a good weather slot so this video is out of order, here's how I made the Spats, thank you for watching, cheers
Nice work, as always, Cliff. I have not had a good experience using spats, so I normally leave them off.
I know they can be tricky sometimes Gudjon especially if you're flying from a rough surface but they look so good on the model 🙂👍

I suppose I could form some from aluminium 🤔 I picked these up ready made though 👍
