Thank you for the video. So it's you got the letter saying that the embassy of Kenya received your case that you started to book for medical exams and an appointment for the interview?
Correct.
Below was the order of events:
1. Received an email from embassy confirming receipt of my application from NVC - Sep 8th 2023
2. Booked for medical exam on same day (Sep 8th 2023). The earliest available date scheduled was - Oct 4th 2023
I continued checking online for available interview dates at embassy. Finally 29th Sep 2023 embassy interview date opened up and I quick paid and scheduled for it.
3. Re-contacted IOM medical center for medical exam reschedule in light of the confirmed embassy interview appointment. They agreed to re-schedule it to - Sep 25th 2023.
4. Did my interview of the 29th Sep 2023.
Please another question. Did you fill the Form 260 for your medical exam appointment?
I believe you are inquiring about DS 160? Yes, you will need to have your DS - 160 confirmation page ready and printed out before your medical exam appointment.
Below were my complete list of required doc by medical organization(IOM)
- Original valid passport (for all applicants) plus 3 photocopies
- Embassy letter
- DS-160 confirmation page
- 2 passport size pictures (2” by 2”) on a white background
- Any previous medical records, if available, original plus copies i.e., vaccination, medical history reports. (Note: please make a copy of each vaccination record)
- Mpesa approximate of 70,000 Kes EACH (The exact cost will be calculated on the date of exam)
- Please bring along your COVID_19 Vaccination certificate for your appointment (download the certificate from MOH portal).
For K1 visa you can schedule your own interview..for the other immigrant visas the embassy schedules.🎉 congratulations girlie

Hi girl must you have your police clerance report at DCI or you can go to Huduma center am confused and do US embassy has there website to apply for police clearance report or i need to go to e_Citizen account direct and apply
Hi. You directly apply for police clearance on your e_Citizen account. While applying for it, you will have to select a location where your fingerprints will be recorded(biometrics). This location can be any of the Huduma centers / DCI headquarters as per the options in the drop down menu. Once the certificate is ready, you will receive an SMS notification to download it from your ecitizen account.
The downloaded valid police clearance is what you will present at the US Embassy during your interview.
I went to the DCI headquarters because that was where my biometrics was recorded and I also needed to speak to the officials to help in speeding up my process. My police clearance was taking time to be uploaded in my e_citizen account and my interview date was cutting close. They were able to speed up the process.

Yes. It took 1 year 3 weeks.

@@salmanhidayat3014 Processing times took long due to huge application backlogs resulting from the covid 19 pandemic. The processing times took long also due to staffing or budget issues at USCIS service centers or field offices.

There are several factors that influence K1 Visa wait times/delays. These delays are due to the continued backlog of cases to be processed due to the 2019/2020 covid pandemic (which halted the processing of K1 visas). Other factors also include staffing or budget issues at USCIS service centers or field offices. The K1 Visa approval involves cooperation/collaboration of different departments/organizations. Once your first petition is approved by U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS), your case is then transferred to the National Visa Center(NVC). The NVC then transfers your case to the US embassy/consulate in your home country. All these transfers add on to the wait times. Once your case is at the embassy/consulate, the available interview dates will depend on their workload/staffing. Those waiting to schedule for interviews have to regularly check online to see if any available dates have opened up.
@@Iam_cherono our case is spousal vise priority date 30th of March 2022 the status is AT NVC for appointment interview at US embassy manila. Waiting for 4 months already yes we're sad confuse of the delayed 😔 I hope it wie can have it and with this backlog be over be more faster.
@@joancolumbis941 the National Visa Center (NVC) has been working to reduce its immigrant visa backlog but it still feels slow. I would encourage you to hang in there. In the mean time, you can start doing research on what kind of career or profession you may want to do here in the US. That will be a good distraction so that you will know where to start once you get to the US. Sending you my love and wishing you the best!
@@Iam_cherono thank you for the reply I appreciate it so much. Actually I'm quite nervous of these delays and my husband in United States is nervous as well I do told him we have be more more patient.

I waited for a confirmation from Kenya for almost two months yet my case was ready so we decided to schedule interview I guess it will go well with me 😢am scared
Hey. There is different information online on the "actual steps" at this stage so I may not wish to mislead you. You can give the embassy a call and see if they will guide you better. Wishing you all the best in your upcoming interview!

Can u go-ahead to book an appointment without getting instructions from the US embassy in your country?
@@egbeashley8147 we called the embassy in Kenya via diplomatic section and they gave us steps to follow and schedule the interview
Hi@@egbeashley8147 This is a good question. I'm not sure, so I may not wish to mislead you. You can contact your embassy via phone call and/ email to get a much better guidance on your case. One of my viewers contacted the embassy and they were able to provide him with the necessary details for his case.
