My 1st reaction was $40k for a paved driveway, what a rip off, until I watched the video and saw all the workers, equipment, and skill involved. My DYI mental mindset was now like, damn, $40k, seems about right! Great job, thanks for sharing the lessons!

Keep up the good work and keep making these videos since they teach consumers Landscaping isn't cheap as some think or Educates others in the field not to shoot themselves on the foot with low balling projects and losing profits well deserved, sooner or later they will go out of Business since Business means making enough profit. Starting my own sealcoating company this year of 2021. I been sealing since 2017 on my own for one of the old employers . Been working for myself for the past 2 months. Buying my own sealcoating equipment I already got clients from working for that employer every customer asked me if I was going to start my own sealing company because I was the best at what I do. That alone made me feel great. Paving would be nice to never know in the years coming could be paving to runs in my blood 🤘🏻also have started my own light hauling plowing for the winter also $$$

1- Always tac The existing asphalt.
2- Always square off the broken asphalt with a saw.
3- When you’re compacting the asphalt always apply diesel on the compactor plate it so it doesn’t scrape the top of the asphalt.
4- on the finish old asphalt with new asphalt fill that joint with tack and silica sand

Once hot-mix is compacted tack where the existing asphalt meets new asphalt.

With the volume of material that you are importing/exporting, might it be worth while investing in a 10 wheel dump truck and driver? It could haul your equipment on a flatbed to reduce strain on small trucks, and you could rent it out when your sites don’t need it.

I think if doing lots of hardscape, just go down and get the ditch witch. Finance. Good credit 0% 0 down. Bad credit you will need 5-10k down on a new ditch witch. We started with a mini excavator rented and applied our rental at 85% after the summer as a down payment. Then that machine got us 2 other machines at 0% with 0 down.
