Very good video Aaron. My W603D had the cameras labelled incorrectly from factory. After much faffing about I swapped the Front and Rear cables at the "junction" and turned the cameras upside down and they work properly. Besides the head unit recognising the Front camera as the Rear, the rear was showing vehicles on my left rear quarter as being on my right rear quarter (an accident waiting to happen imo); now all seems fine.
i was looking for a review on this specific model w603d and yours was complete, and detailed, a very good review sir, this is much cheaper than chigee, comparing these of course chigee aio5 lite provides more features ex. tire monitoring, side warnings, more responsive screen unit has 4gb of ram, higher brightness by knits, better camera from tech of sony, and more... downside is that most accessories are sold separately thus spending you out more, and the unit itself is around 25k plus the other accessories, quite hefty what really matters for me is the onscreen dashcam recording in case of accidents you have evidence and can be connected to google maps and waze, plus music apps like spotify, this one has android auto and apple carplay just wondering though if its compatible to most android phones, anyway id say it would suffice daily riding needs, for the price of around 200 usd with the discount code, id say its a good deal...
@@tinjastv thanks for sharing all the details about the Chigee too! I’m sure that’s helpful for other people here too. I’ll also be given a Chigee soon for my other bike so I can really compare the two.
Nice video. Couple of questions: when mounted, can you detached it specially park unattended? Secondly, how does it hold from the heat specially to our country-Philippines?
Hi. Awesome video. One important question - when in ANdroid AUto mode - can you have a navigation app working without phone connection? I mean - does the device actually have GPS and downloadable maps OR is it in reality only mirroring what your phone feeds it?
It only mirrors what's on the phone. The only devices I know of that have their own maps and don't need pairing with a phone are the much more expensive dedicated GPS units like the Garmin Zumo XT.
Just a heads up, I own one of these and found the hard way it's just a streamer/dumb terminal for your phone which means when its running it drains your phone battery massively.
That is exactly what I was wondering. If this has no stand alone navigating mode - than it really has limited usability. THe point should be NOT to use phone at all in any way
It’s been fine so far! Only problem I’ve encountered is CarPlay disconnecting once in a while, but not constantly. I also have a bike with the much more expensive Chigee system, they do the same thing but for all you’re paying you get a lot more tech and more refinement with Chigee.
@@Ride_XPBased on your review I just purchased this device. As soon as I connected the wires to the battery the device immediately powered on, and this was with the bike ignition off. Turning on and off the bike has no effect on the device turning on or off. It could only be done manually via the wired remote. Also another big issue I have is that the device’s date/time resets itself after being powered off. Do you also have this issue?
How is it for using the map function for directions? I was getting ready to buy the W702 because the map would be easier to see than my phone. Landscape position is great for using as rear view mirror but seems horrible for seeing what is coming up on a map. I always use portrait position when using my phone for directions so I can see what is coming up. I wish the W702 also had the option for cameras.
@@LifeMyWay007 I find it pretty easy to follow surprisingly! Just because the screen is bigger and brighter. But it also helps to pair it with the helmet comms to hear the audio. Would probably help to set it at a slightly zoomed out position since you would have a bigger screen.
I haven't tried the Chigee AIO-5 Lite yet, but it's pricier. The screen is a little smaller (good or bad, depends on you) but it has a higher refresh rate. It also has a few more advanced features, mainly built in tire pressure monitoring, blind spot detection, stabilized camera, sentry mode. Seems like the camera also records GPS data. But the remote is an optional extra, being wireless too.
BS - you need your phone to be always charging if you want to use it with this remote screen, right? It connects all the time to internet and to the remote screen - after few hourse phone will be discharged
Thanks for watching!

@@geraldmejia6632 Ah nope, it’s hard wired to the bike! So it would be virtually useless to try to steal it. No issues so far with heat or rain.
Thank you for this video, this is very helpful! I'm thinking of getting this but I'm not sure how this can be set up on a Vespa Sprint

How good is the camera during night time?
Let me check and get back to you! I don't ride much at night myself so haven't really seen it.
Great video, thanks! So even though you have the CarPlay screen connected directly to the battery, the screen only powers on when you start the bike?
That is correct! And you can manually turn it on and off if you like.

dows the autobrightness work?
Hello, W603D does not have light sensing function. W603 has light sensing function.
Thank you for the review. Unfortunately it is uncompatible with galaxy S23, 23FE, and many more.
Can you switch songs using handlebar controller?

Compared to having the phone screen on the power drain is a lot less. I just charge my phone during breaks.
@@Ride_XP less without screen - true, but GPS and wifi and BT still on all the time
Not a big deal.
