Congratulations, Dereck!!! For getting into another Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, well deserved. Your music is so amazing it's got you in two different Halls of Fame. For anyone that sees this, you haven't gotten Dereck's music; you really need to. Dereck is so unique you haven't heard his music before. He is not like the other musicians out there. If you haven't, you have to go listen to music; after hearing it, you will be buying his albums. Do yourself a favor: go listen to Dereck's music !!!

Ersatz Soul and Mod revival, never understood the appeal of Weller or any of that stuff. Britpop was very alien to me. Like listening to music in pub beer garden.
@@dereckvon i'll have to drink a pot of pear's cinnamon nut swirl while listening to the sly records you were remarkably correct about sometime...i was supposed to see sly and the family stone in april of 2008 at first avenue in minneapolis but he canceled. sly mentioned wanting to do a duet with bob dylan in the mid 80's...i suspect that that would have knocked your glasses off but who knows? im looking forward to questlove's movie...i suspect you'll go somewhere colder than nebraska to see house of love. they do have some good songs.
I was watching a really good discussion on this topic by Gary's Economic's. He lays out much of what you are describing, but sadly few will get to hear it, or want to hear it. Too many stupid distractions.
