I have had 2 equivalent surgeries to remove bladder stones plus I am currently recovering from a spinal compression fracture which I would have to say as far as getting out of bed is even more painful but the worst of that is over for me 7 weeks on. I like the idea of the bed ladder which I must enquire into buying in case there is a next time. I have found my bedside cabinet fine as substitute for a bed rail. With the very light one in your video putting something heavy in it or on it could be the way to go to avoid it tipping over when you grab hold of it. I found once I got up sitting on the side of the bed it was very painful to stand and I would grab hold of the top of my tallboy for balance once I had stood up. Once I was standing things did become less painful. For rolling on my side in bed I found grabbing hold of the headboard posts reduced the pain. I had no trouble getting into bed just getting out.
The bed rail you push at 1:09 has been discontinued because a couple people died by getting their head stuck. I’m shocked you didn’t know this. A half rail is much safer and better.
You are correct, the exact one in my video was recalled due to not having the added bar in the middle. It is not the same rail that I recommend in my links, which has the proper improvements to reduce risk. I’ve owned this rail for many years and only use it for demos. For individuals who have severely impaired cognition and/or physical limitations and low supervision, any bed rail can be a risk.
@@EquipMeOT the problem, as I see it, is the American economy. they want you to spend, spend, spend...but $ to them seems to be a one way street. Only incoming.
Great video! My mother in law just had an abdominal surgery and this is so helpful
So glad to help! ♥️

@@EquipMeOT I have this very rail...and it was recalled, period. It’s also extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get your money back.
I’ve found that to be a problem for many recalled product.
