I’m only 15 mins in but it’s actually so nice to see two people disagreeing but both also be right and stand their corner a bit. I want both sides, rather than just general agreement that’s quite typical in podcast conversations. Thank you
I’m a septuagenarian Granma and I am absolutely buying into all you are saying. I’m directing my grandchildren to watch this. With highly successful parents they shouldn’t be influenced by their parents paths. What harm can it do to be aware. Thank you.
The disagreement and healthy debate is a portrayal of how to work as a team despite two strong headed slightly opposing views. Life is not going to be perfect, and we will need thick skin and clear focus on purpose / interim goals to be successful in our pursuits. All the best
I really like Simon's attitude to business, taking it by the nuts, however I must say Daniel's business sense is what I would consider one of the most valuable in Simon's videos. It's a very true reflection of the business world. These 2 are both successful for their own traits shown in the video. It's good learning.
@@Lylepr unfortunately daniels books are aimed at exsisting business with returning customer, not startups.. i read most of them and the advice rearly only work at grow a business not starting one.
Feels like an hour consultation session with two giants thank you for this as a first born I just want to change the world and take care of my loved ones and the implementation of the knowledge in this video allows it to happen
I'm a 15 year old hoping to be an entrepreneur soon, I have already started up a simple business which I consider a side hustle alongside my friend, and I just wanted to thank you both Simon and Daniel for all this effort for allowing me along with other younger entrepreneurs learn about all this information. I will remember you once I make my first million 🙏🙏
If you're 15 and thinking like this, just remember, if you haven't had it yet, you will face obstacles. These will either make you or break you, remember though good or bad times won't last forever just like the good, learn to enjoy and learn from both.
As a tech founder myself I 100% agree with Daniel here. Anyone thats 19 thats comes in and would ask for equity would be shown the door. The simple fact is they dont have the experience to change the valuation of the business, all you really have is time to give. I would say, the value for a 19 year old is learn and grow.
The 19 year old might have been entrepreneurially minded since a child and built multiple businesses And be gifted in the areas you’re tech company needs too grow.
I had a bakery, but very introverted. Loved being in the kitchen working, but could not go out to do wholesale selling. As long as they came or called me it was great. Lucky for me, I made it the best product, so people did call me. Could not find anyone to do sales.
This is how every conversation and podcast should be - two experts holding their own while respectfully agreeing and disagreeing. I learned way more and it felt much more organic
I can't believe this was given for free. Thanks so much guys, you have unblocked two tricky bits I'm dealing with in my business right now. Thanks so so much!!! I will be coming back to this video every while to get to the next bit.
What an amazing video. My wife and I started a small business earlier this year and this has changed our view on things. We have started in the wrong way. Now need to build networks and look for a KPI and someone with the know how in sales. Big thing is where to even start 😱
This guy is full of great advice! I operate a medium size business and have a similar setup to the “section” but never thought of it this streamlined and simple. Honestly, this video is worth a few thousand dollars in value.
Im stuck trying to figure out what my true calling is, and what my business really should be. I want to build something that makes a difference, something that i wouldnt be against working endlessly for. this video gave me a lot of knowledge for when I do find that.
Loved the concept of a ‘fire team’ (3-6 people) for gaining traction, testing ideas, and scaling up. Daniel’s approach feels practical and simple enough for new entrepreneurs, taking out a lot of the mystery. You both prove there’s no single path to success-mastering essentials like psychology, real value, and meeting needs is the foundation. The rest? It’s about adapting and learning as you go. Thanks for sharing such hard-won wisdom!
Disagreements can be the gateway to deeper understanding and growth. I'm excited to dive into this conversation and uncover some valuable insights (Thanks Simon & Daniel)
Dude, you two are so great together. I really felt like you guys was a team addressed my questions and concerns more than either one of you on your own, though I do love you both individually already. GREAT video, thank you for the content! Also, side note, I just discovered from this video that I'm an Ops/Product Guy. Lol
love it. I loved how different they thought about video creation. I believe that when you learn to do videos well, it really helps your sales meetings. You get so sorted on your offer and articulating it!
Currently in the process of building my startup and also talking to users, and i definately have learnt a lot from you guys . My key take away has been ("Build a product with users , and dont build it alone and take it to users"). And also the thing of not judging when one user just says no, but to try at least 30 samples/users, thats dope. I have definately learn a lot from it, and as you sayed from start. This information is definately more than $25,000 . Thanks alot
First video of yours I'm watching. Ik your guest keeps pulling your leg, but thank you for putting up with it, and pushing out this content. Absolute gold
Love Daniel Priestley and his amazing practical insights. Writing my first book to support my start up courtesy of his strategies. Thanks Simon, for all that you're doing with these incredible guests and your vision. Love it. Let's build value.
Wow this is amazing and has helped to put everything into perspective. Im on first business and and taking notes from the two job's i'm working at. Seeing everything laid will help me to structure my conversations on my 'entrepreneur apprenticeship' and beyond. Thank you Simon for getting this together and thank you Daniel for laying out the knowledge. I could literally feel the cogs turning in my brain watching this!
I like how they obviously have different ways of thinking and doing things. There is more than one way to do it- here you get to choose what feels better for you. Just make sure you go for it and take action NOW.
The first 30 minutes of this video were pure gold. Is there a place/community/course where we can learn how to set up smart systems for evaluating our ideas and the real demand for our solutions?
It's nice seeing some reference to my journey in this. Started an e-commerce business to create a cashflow first. Now am aiming my focus towards creating a sustainable 3d printed vases brand
The podcast is wonderful, and the guests are fantastic. I think it would be even more enjoyable if you allowed each guest to finish their thoughts fully before responding. It could really enhance the flow and depth of the conversations, thank you!
thanks Simon , the videos you are bringing are amazing. I am now learning how to buy and modify a business, esp .during times of inflation, instead of building one from scratch.
Loved the pizza delivery line. I tried to come up with a professional version: “I moved a few things around to get this to you right on time, so it’s at peak relevance and quality” 😂
Simon, I really love all those interviews and I learn a lot. But my problem is that I am not an adult yet and it's hard for us teenagers to actually start a business. The only way for us to start is most likely to start a online business like a website or app . It would be lovely to see a video from you telling and teaching us all the thing about what teenagers can do to start a business
Where the hour has gone? It was a great content. I may have to re-watch it. I found out that I am like the 'Susumi knife' or I am not sure how you called the multi tasking, filling the gaps person in the Fireteam. I am like that at the family dynamics and at the business dynamics. Thank you for this amazing video.
Hi Simon, you talked about equity percentage in the scout team stage but did not elaborate later. Can you please elaborate on that? Why not 50-50? What are the problems one can face in a 50-50 setup?
Hi Simon, as always your perspective is very inspiring. I am currently working as a design engineer in the field of aerospace and I want to be an entrepreneur one day, but my entrepreneurial and business ideas are always about engineering, production and design. Especially they're about the manufacturing machine etc. These areas do not seem very suitable for side hustle. I'm wondering how I can look at things simpler and from an outside-the-box perspective. Honestly i am feeling stucked. Thanks for the video.
I have been following you for some time now. First time commenting. Currently on the 30th minute of the video. I enjoy coming up with what the market might need. I live in Bosnia, and with 2 mil people the market is rather small. I have many ideas that always revolve around my core principles, which would be to offer people a way to get their financial, time or location freedom. Gig economy is something that I am really positive about. Since I love cars, I would love to build a platform that matches advertisers and people who would wrap their car with ads or in a different version, have an LCD display and turn the app on and drive around to fulfill advertisers' requests... however every time I come up with something, I remember how small our Bosnian market is. Sorry the lengthy intro. Question for you: How (if any) should you think in smaller markets?
Great video. I have a question though. How do you promote the waiting list? How do you get the waiting list in front of people online if you don't have much money to run ads?
