Update: I accidentally mentioned a Pixel 5XL in the video, these release dates have me messed up. The info I gathered for this video was from the Google website the morning of the Pixel 5a launch. Any information I mentioned that has changed was not mentioned on Google's website that morning when I researched comparison specs. Updated specs include what Google is calling a premium metal unibody design which does include plastic, HDR support, and Optical Stabilization on the main camera. All of these specs were not clearly displayed on the comparison spec sheet at the time I researched for this video. I don't get prerelease phones nor do I have a direct contact at Google that provides me with any details. I apologize for the errors.

I have a question,
I am aware that Google has announced that the future Pixel phones will not have Unlimited Storage. However, Google Pixel 5 was the Last phone to have Unlimited Google storage. So my question is, If I buy a brand new google pixel 5 today, will I still get Unlimited cloud storage for all the pictures?
Google’s spec sheet does not show unlimited storage for this device but still does show it for the Pixel 5.

Sir , 5a is made of aluminum with plasticky texture,5 is also made of aluminum with plasticky texture ( reason why wireless charging works) ,but not as slippery compared with 5a.
5a also got aluminium in the back. It's heavier because of the comparatively more battery than 5.
my phone literally took a dump on me about a week ago so I was in the market for a new phone anyway saw this this yesterday morning and pre-ordered it I'm actually kind of excited I haven't had a new phone in quite a while
You should return it and just wait for the pixel 6 it's literally about to come out and it improves on everything. Truly a worthy upgrade.

I'm still using my 3 xl. I know I'll miss the front facing stereo speakers whenever I move up to the 4 or 5etc. Do you have a 3 xl hanging around to let me know about the comparison? Everything else I'm good with except maybe the chipset. What do you think of the 7 series vs the 845 that's in my 3xl? I'm not a big camera aficionado, but the 2 XL and 3 xl had great camera stuff anyway. Basically I like a great screen, good speakers and as many updates as possible. Still not sure about the 5a or 5 in regards to the speaker on the bottom. I tried an LG v50, everyone raved about, and the speaker s didn't impress me. What's your opinion? Thanks.
Going from a 3xl to a 5 you'll instantly notice better battery life and some slightly crisper photos but they'll take longer then they do to enhance compared to the 3 and 4 which has the visual and neural core. And when it comes to the 6 which I'm using right now this thing is amazing photo and video wise they went the apple silicon route with the tensor chip and boy is it good
@@tylermunson1886 Yeah but how does it sound. Camera is secondary to me. I like a 1440 screen and clear front facing stereo speakers. I'm not a photographer. I'm perfectly fine with the camera on my 3 XL, and it has what I like in a phone. I think that is why they refer to it as,a phone. Right?
I'm sure next year I'll probably be looking for a replacement. I do hear good things about the 6 though.
Which is best considering that for 6 they garante 5 years of updates? and for audio quality, fluidity and cooler system and battery life and display and photo?

Ordered. Went away from Pixel for the Samsung S20. I can't wait to go back to Google
I did that like 4x. Left Google for Samsung because I always fed into the hype that every new Galaxy would get and was always left disappointed. My last Galaxy was the S20 FE and didn't have that long because I received a defective unit. Been with Google since.

I have an S20 and am considering dumping it for a Pixel. It is my least favorite phone I have ever had.
I owned the S5 Samsung phone with replacable battery and SD card the very best Samsung made I then went to the 7 as the 5 started acting up, I bought the 7 from Best Buy in less than a year the circuit board fried, BestBuy told me to contact Samsung??? No Help from them? Next a cell service center told me they could not fix it to call Samsung I did and Samsung told me to send it to their place in Plano, Texas and thye wouild not give me a loaner I was without my phone for two weeks, when I got it back I immedely sold it and bought the best phone I ever had Google Pixel 2 that worked for a few years and now is acting up, so I need a new one like the Pixel 5 or 5a?
How'd it work out for you? Think of dumping my Iphone to go back to Google.

I have both the pixel 5 and 5a. I'm a little nerd tech so I got the pixel 5 when it came out and I just got this bad boy today. I gotta say... It's nice having a headphone jack again. I was hoping that Google would make the another phone with a headphone jack and IP67 rating. But it did downsize just a tad.
Here what I think are the differences...
Pixel 5 pros: smaller, 90hz refresh rate, IP68, and 8GB of RAM.
Pixel 5 cons: top ear speaker is underneath the screen so some calls sounds muffled, no headphone jack, smaller battery, and speakers are not loud
Pixel 5a pros: IP67, loud speakers including the ear speaker, headphone jack, and bigger battery.
Pixel 5a cons: a bit bigger, 60hz refresh rate (which you can't really notice the difference, only if you really pay attention to it), and 6GB of RAM.
I wouldn't say these phones are made for gaming cuz it only has a 765G chip in it but for what it is... It is built pretty solid and runs smooth for me.
Do you experience any eye strain or discomfort with either the 5 or 5a? I tried both and had to send them back because I found the oled screens to be inferior to my pixel 2's amoled. The 5 and 5a seems slightly blurry, with less vivid color and bad viewing angles compared to the pixel 2. Overall I just could not look at either of these phones without experiencing eye discomfort / trouble focusing on text almost immediately

I really wanted the 5 bit the speaker is a fo concern for me . I like the size because I have the pixel 4a and love it but I also have my samsun s 10 as mY larger phone .
I usually buy last year's flagship. Though I didn't buy a Pixel 4 due to the fingerprint sensor being removed from the back. The lack of a rear fingerprint sensor makes the 6 and 6 Pro look less attractive too.BTW, it does have OIS according to google tech specs page

No OIS on the 5a? Really wanted that if I'm upgrading from a Pixel 3. Guess I can look for a website sale in the 5 or wait for the 6? Really wanted the 5a just for the battery.

I had the four and I'm a long time google user all the way back to the Nexus days and I swear the four was the smartest smoothest best phone I've ever had and I lost it on the subway and I'm getting ready to get the five in a week or two and one of the top selling points for me is that smaller screen because I hate these big 6.7 7-in screens they're ridiculous
Google's phones run the "Pixel Experience" UX which is _not_ AOSP nor even Android Go. Please don't refer to Pixel phones as "stock Android." It is excellent and clean, but it is still clearly proprietary.
I understand that but it is as stock android as you can get on any production device and would be the best example of how an Android phone should run.
Also remember that Google owns android so they have majority rule of what goes on minus skins that companies make like Samsung's one ui which has gotten better
Pixel 5A does have HDR Support
At the time I recorded this video, which was on the morning of Pixel 5a release day, there was no mention of HDR support on Google's website. Can only report what the company displays as specs at the time.

Bro. Do more research before you make a video. People are right, there is no Pixel 5 XL. Pixel users are generally pretty knowledgeable with their devices. This isn't a Samsung phone that anyone uses.

A few errors yes. I went off of the information on Google's website that morning. The only error I could have avoided was the mention of a Pixel 5XL which was incorrect.

So would you say the Google pixel 5 is the better phone. I'm watching one on eBay new but opened box at a cheap price. I have a Moto G8 plus which is rubbish now. I don't like buying new photos all the time as it's wasteful. But my mobile will not upgrade to the Android 12. Google say they always upgrade their latest models to the newest Android. I use my mobile for my business so I do need a mobile that is updated. The Moto G8 plus is really lagging now. So rubbish and I wouldn't got the mobile if I new Motorola wasn't going to upgrade it.

You made many mistakes in this video , pixel 5xl?! , No optical imagine stabilizer on the camera ?! And yes it is optical stabilized, I'm not the tech reviewer and you are supposed to be , how could you get those things wrong . Also the gorilla glass coating on 5a Is gorilla glass 3 FYI. Be better next time , this breakdown was pretty sub par. Most of that could have been cought in editing

Get a 4xl instead. It's the perfect every day phone over either of these.
Sure, you can get the 4XL cheaper than a 5a, but I'd pay more to get not only a new phone but also updates for the next 3 years (4XL is nearing it's end) and also much better battery life. And day-to-day the 5a will be as fast as a 4XL
@@anthonytech for around the 100-150 dollar difference you make a good point with keeping the software up to date. But there are plenty of things still that'll bring a good amount of the same satisfaction to users that the 4xl will.
Face unlock is the best in the game, battery has improved with time, aesthetically it can be more pleasing to some, lower cost, and it being an initial flagship in it's time it has similar if not better specs than an a series of this year.
I'm looking forward to everything Google is bringing to the table, it's seems with every release there's major improvements that keep us coming back. And let's not forget about that G cam 🤌🏼
@@marioleal101 Yeah it has good specs by todays standards but you can only buy them used. How much wear is on the battery is unknown. It's battery life could be horrible if you get a unit where the battery was poorly taken care of. Also the 5a has an ultrawide camera which people get way more excited about over the silly telephoto the 4 XL has
I'd get the 4xl for the specs and the nice design but the battery is what has me worried
