6:48 A good point missed here, the top right widget is the favourites button, you maybe could have explained this in more detail. You have Autohold, Bluetooth etc, this is completely customisable, so you can swap Hotspot for Lane assist for example, making it the fastest way to switch off Lane assist, a question that is often asked!
How do you get the display in front of the steering wheel to show how many kWh per mile you are averaging, mine seems to have disappeared it says no route guidance activated?
Hi! Thanks for a great review! Could you please tell me if, when you select the individual driving mode, whether the car remembers it the next time you drive it, or if you have to key your preferences all over again? Thank you!
We have a cuppa born V3, absolutely abysmal the amount of glaring errors they have made with the infotainment/interior cabin on this car. Shame as it’s fun to drive!
Hello, nice video thanks. A question, in your clima, the color buttons that changes the output of the air is blue. In my cupra sometimes are blue, other times red. Is there any difference or it is just a bug in color? Thank you.
Lots of functions but try using any of then when driving. So get the right radio channel before you set out. Then, hit the wrong bit of the info screen by accident, you'll have to stop to find out what happened and fix it. Heated seats for example. Or always travel with a co-pilot.
I had a Formentor that the dealer couldn’t tell me how to answer and end calls from the steering wheel until I found out for myself it was the right side dial rather than using the screen however before I collect my Born can someone tell me how it’s done on the Born please as in can it be done on the steering wheel?
Thanks this was very useful information and much more detail and information than what I got from the pre delivery from my Cupra dealer here in Sydney when taking deliver of my Cupra Born. We don’t get the head-up feature in the model that I purchased which is a V3 equivalent in the UK. The Apple car play is woeful, so it’s not very hi-tech compared to what you get. Yes, it drives nicely but I feel short changed.
I would recommend turning off the wireless functions and just plugging the phones in when you want to use them, but you can’t use both the same time. You are not able to play music or phone calls off one and use the other if using Android Auto/Carplay.
@@TechInTheCar thanks! Don’t want to use both at the same time, just generally mine (the iPhone), but the Bluetooth always overrides with a connection to the wife’s Android. But yes, of I can turn off the cars Bluetooth that could be the solution
Android Auto uses Bluetooth, CarPlay does not. If the car is defaulting to bluetooth then CarPlay won't work. You may have to turn bluetooth off on the phone.
Hi just wondering if you are using apple car play, can you still use the features like heating the seats, heating the steering wheel changing the mode of the car, and also like changing the sound quality etc from the menu with Apple CarPlay
The AC/heating remains on the screen at the top and you can tap it to go into it and adjust it further, or use the sliding controls underneath the screen so you don't need to touch the screen at all. However for mode changing and sound quality you will have to exit out of CarPlay.
@@TechInTheCar that’s a shame 😂, car arriving in sept I’m so excited. So how do you test the sound quality if you can’t play music. Or can u play Spotify without Apple CarPlay and thank you for the quick reply ❤️
@@TechInTheCar just realised you can just connect through Bluetooth and not car play, so u can test the volume I’m guessing like that is that right bro?
Seems to be very similar if not the same for some models of the Cupra Formentor, a great infotainment system on paper or as in this case a video but in the real world it's full of bugs, seems to have a mind of it's own at times and does the unexpected frequently, I'm speaking from experience and for hundreds of others, probably thousands who have this VW system fitted and hate it.
Yep, lovely guide, now do this whilst actually driving the car. This system is awful, and has to be one of the dumbest dangerous infotainment systems I have used. It was so bad it put me off the Cupra range completely..
I don’t get car companies today with the technology around. I don’t think I’ve come across a system not very good at responding, but they’re all the same. They just don’t seem to get the entertainment them right it’s like owning a very old Samsung phone you touch the screen. It doesn’t respond and it gets worse over time. yeah a Tesla they seem to get it right. but other car companies get it so wrong. unnecessary two years on from this video, yeah it’s still the same.

Thank you. You are totally correct!
Thanks! Are there any "memory" functions for the electric seats under User Settings?
Exactly what I was looking for thanks a lot 😊
Glad I could help!

Thank you really useful run through to go see before we finally get our Borns!
You're welcome! Thanks.
Hi! Thanks for a great review! Could you please tell me if, when you select the individual driving mode, whether the car remembers it the next time you drive it, or if you have to key your preferences all over again? Thank you!
Normally, the driving mode resets but I don't have the car to check.

Same with the Formentor.
Can I ask how you can adjust the volume on the steering wheel? Doesn't seem to work very well, is there a sensitivity setting please pal?
There’s a technique to it. You have to sort of swipe and press at the same time. Hope this helps
Hi I use Apple play but it has stopped working in my cupra born for everything except phone calls. can you help me reset it please to work again fully
I would go into your phone settings and search for CarPlay and click on forget car where it shows your car. Then plug it into the car again.

Red is hot and Blue is cold.

Thanks great tutorial
You're welcome!
Merci très bonne vidéo 👍
Can you show how to reduce the AC charging speed? It's incredibly difficult trying to find it in the user manual.
Super useful. Much appreciated for when I pick my keys up in 2 weeks!!!!
Glad it helped!

It will work the same way.

of course, how to watch videos on the screen is not covered 😞
Can I fix drive profile!
Just a question, is it the software update 3.0 ?
I have an iPhone and my partner an Android, how do we switch between which phone is used by the infotainment unit when we’re both in the car?

How to manually adjust Cupra Born seats?
Use the buttons on the side of the seat.

To be clear you CAN play music on CarPlay/AA and THEN go into Audio settings but you can’t change it on the same screen.
Only issue with all these settings. It doesn't remember bugger all.
Really enjoyed my test drive and look forward to getting my card however OMG the volume control is terrible!!!!!
I agree that it isn’t great but you do eventually get used to it!
Great guide - thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, excellent guide!
Glad it was helpful!
You missed "Tyres" setting. I want to know if you can see exact tyre pressure values or is it just "OK" status?
You can’t see the exact pressures. The car does not have live monitoring.
Thank you for good informations 😊
My pleasure 😊

Unfortunately, all cars are touch screens now and any other ways for controlling the infotainment are being removed.
