Hi Rob, some lovely stamps from your friends. ...And a great video again. Thank you for sharing. Here are a few notes on some of the stamps you received from the official Postcrossing person (the other stamps are pretty self-explanatory): The Vatican stamps came in sheetlets (miniature/souvenir sheets?) of 6 stamps. There were three such sheets, each issued at a different time, but all for the same event, which off the top of my head was about an exhibition of Vatican artefacts entitled 'The Vatican Collections: The Papacy and Art' held in the USA in 1983. The set you have was issued on 10 March 1983 and was the first set in the series, the other two being issued on 14 June and 10 November that same year. Yes, I do have the Christmas Island stamps. They were issued in sheetlets of 12 stamps, each one showing the appropriate gifts from the carol The Twelve Days of Christmas. There are two versions of the sheetlet. The original was issued on 20 October 1977 and has no watermark. Watermarked sheetlets were reissued on 27 January 1978 - a bit late for Christmas (yes, they are Christmas stamps), but...well, why not? The three se-tenant stamps at 4:07 are Greek stamps (and I assume they are Christmas stamps as Greece issued several Christmas sets in this format). The stamp at 4:23 (after the three stamps from Belize) and the two at 4:42 and 4:47 (after the Sri Lankan bird stamp) are from Bulgaria. Hope that helps.
Very nice stamps you were gifted, Rob. The New Caledonia, Belize, Christmas Island and Sri Lanka stamps are particularly beautiful. The animal stamps on the Canadian International Philatelic Exhibition souvenir sheet also stand out for me. Actually I listed almost all the stamps you got! 😆So they are all noteworthy. Very nice video again. You show the stamps so well. Thanks!
Happy postcard week😊
