Glad to hear you are well Allan. Loved your show through the years. William Cooper, Grandpa Munster, George Carlin, Dick Frymire and Jackie Mason were among my favorite guests...
So glad to hear this update. You were such a part of my life for so many years, from Rock 93, to QDR, to WPTF...Hoping to see and hear more from you in the months ahead..
I found your show coming out of a Charlotte radio station, WRFX, when I moved to NC in '98. It was called Rock Talk then and I absolutely loved it. Just wanted to give you a quick thanks for doing what you do!!! You and Art Bell gave me quite a lot to think about!!!
Take your time sir! You've earned it, you and Art Bell made my Sunday nights. As a teen in the late 90s, I would fall asleep to your show. I rarely stayed up long enough to catch Art. I loved the paranormal guests, especially Brad Steiger. Definitely look forward to listening to old shows in the future.
GLAD TO SEE AND KNOW YOU'RE STILL ALIVE AND WELL....KEEP ON KEEPING ON......YOU BELONG IN THE NC RADIO BROADCASTING HALL OF FAME ALLEN.....HOPE YOU GET NOMINATED....FROM A NC BROTHER BROADCASTER AND LONG TIME FAN.
Used to listen regularly back in the 00's on 101.1FM in NC. Hearing your voice took me right back. So many great guests. What a joy it would be if we could bring Stanton Friedman back to life and hear you interview him regarding current UAP news. Carmine Appice was always a great one too. You are 100% correct when you say that you had one hell of a show!
He is the reason I got into radio! Allan was my teacher in broadcasting school, and before I did my first radio interview in 1993, I called Allan for advice. So good to hear your voice!
Allan, your show was such an important part of my life for so many years, from the WQDR days to WRDU. I often think about the Ed and Lorraine Warren shows, Robert Petro, Zebra, Frank Zappa, and all the other great guests and artists you had on and promoted. I lost you after WRDU and always wondered how you were doing. I just want to say hearing your voice, again, is a real joy. I engineer for several stations in NC and VA so I can agree that radio is not what it used to be. I wish you the best and hope to hear you again soon.
Oh man, that’s oh so familiar voice! I found and enjoyed you on 101.1 wztk and I really miss that station! I will be looking forward to more from you! Best wishes on the surgery Allan!
Thank you for the update, Allan. I was a regular listener as far back as the early 80's, possibly even before that. I listened to you on WRQR (though very little since it was out of range), WITN, WQDR, and WRDU. I listened to you on a station out of Raleigh a few years back but I can't remember the call letters.
I looked forward to this every Sunday night on Rock 102.9 out of Columbus Georgia. Would love to hear the show from the archives with my favorite band Drivin'n' Cryin' !!!
As a teen in the 2000s I loved staying up late night Sunday nights listening to you on the local rock station. I specifically loved the weird stuff. Thank you for the memories.
Hello from way back. We hung out a bit at RQR with my friend Bob Bass 1978-79. Also, brought a gang to the Devils Stomping Ground remote. Wasn’t the show called Forum or something on RQR?
Allan, luvya since you took a leap and invited me back to an AC/DC show. We became friends, Styx was one of my favorite dogs. You showed me "The Hunt" on video, and that was just incredible. I hope you are doing so well. Don't we all have medical issues. Love ya!
Great to see things are going well with you. You are the reason I got into radio.. I used to listen to you back in the late eighties and early nineties.... I even got to meet you once... with Joshua P Warren. I was the producer of his show. Take your time ,and take care of what you need to take care of and hope to hear from you soon.
I loved listening to "East Coast Live" on WRFX out of Charlotte in the 90s. Peter McWilliams, William Cooper and Stanton Freedman were my favorite guests back then
Glad to know you're still doing radio in one way, or another. Enjoyed you in 90's esp. people Ike Stanton Friedman, Brad Steiger, the Warrens, now no longer with us. I believe you would have performers also, right. Heard Don Knotts among others, though I can't recall the radio station (likely defunct now). Hope you are still doing well.
Hey Allen, do you have the program with Mark Vance, the author of Flight of The Forgotten? It was about 20 years ago. That is an amazing story! Thanks for all you have done over the years. Have a blessed holiday!
By the time I discovered my love for talk radio the time for listening to Art Bell had passed and wouldn't be back for a while so your show was my first dive into listening to late night talk about stranger topics. I even have a couple of cassette tapes with you on them that I recorded off of 99.7 The Fox in Charlotte.
@@AllanHandelmanShow It's nothing substantial. I think it's like half of a Halloween time episode and parts of a couple other episodes around the same time mixed with another radio show I listened to around the same time. I was just a kid messing with tapes and the record function on my stereo.
WRFX Bill Cooper, Al Lewis, Irwin Schiff, Ted Nugent, and even some strippers. WOOOO miss the show way back in the day. Allen from Concord. Glad you are still around.
Alan, I doubt you wil see this, but I'm trying to compile an extensive collection of everything William Cooper ever did. There's only a 26.min video interview from your show with Bill that's available on UA-cam and other websites, but you said you had dozens of hours of interviews with him. How can I get my hands on those archives ? I looked around your website and blogspot and the only .mp3 link is broken. Thanks.
I loved Allan as a teen in the early 90s and couldn't wait for Sunday nights...... one show that stands out more than any that i remember, was the guy he had on that stated that the irs was not a government branch and that income tax was basically illegal..... anyone remember that dudes name?
