@HQ They do. It’s very subtle on both sides, but the hints are there if you look closely enough. The famous airport scene at the end of JFA is one example, with Edgeworth returning Franziska’s whip and patiently explaining to her the true role of a prosecutor, while Franziska in turn expresses her emotions in front of Edgeworth to a degree that she has never done in front of any other character before or since (indicating a certain degree of trust between them). Also, although Edgeworth has been on the receiving end of Franziska’s whip a couple of times, he doesn’t get it nearly as bad as other characters have (Wright, Gumshoe, etc.). And even the few times that Edgeworth does get whipped (with only a few exceptions) usually come across as Franziska’s way of snapping him back to reality when he makes a mistake or otherwise seems to have lost focus, whereas most other instances of Franziska whipping other characters tend to be out of a much more genuine anger or annoyance toward them on Franziska’s end.
I hadn't seen Miles drawn as an older child/teenager yet and it's so great that the anime offered that! This scene is absolutely adorable, Franziska really cares about her brother!
IIRC Shu Takumi had a hand in this, so while the nuances and specifics differ between games and anime, the general idea of this backstory is still probably canon.
@@load-bearingcoconut5586 Its late but considering the man himself, Shu Takumi is involved when making the two seasons of the anime, i think its not a coincidence.
The dog is named Missile in the anime+, but he’s not the same Missile as the one from the games. Rather, Anime!Missile is a subtle nod to both the Missile from the games and a joke/comment Shu Takumi made about Edgeworth having a dog named Pess++. _+And he later gets a girlfriend named “Napalm” to boot!_ 🥰 _++Unlike Anime!Missile, Pess is said to be a large dog who shares a deep emotional bond with Edgeworth, who even gave Pess a little cravat for a collar!_ 🥰
My fanon is that the K-9 police dog named Missile in the games (it was seen in case 4 of AA1) was originally adopted by Miles in their childhood (when the dog was a puppy and Edgeworth was a kid) and after Edgeworth became a prosecutor, Missile became a police dog.
And at some point down the line, probably due to his daddy’s secret love for the Steel Samurai franchise, Missile acquired a taste for Samurai Dogs and will om-nom-nom on them every chance he gets (much to the dismay of Larry Butz in Turnabout Goodbyes).
There IS a ship of them out there, but it’s also widely debated whether or not such a ship would count as incest (with shippers quick to point out that they are not blood related, while anti-shippers say that it is still incest if they grew up seeing each other as siblings).
Oh wow, no wonder Franziska grew up as she did. The people who are dearest to her don't even return much of any affection.

her dad is a literal murderer and tampered with trials multiple times, resulting in innocent people being imprisoned or executed

Edgeworth hitting puberty really early.

The dog being named Phoenix and being dressed as Manfred is so fucking ironic.

Maybe he is a vampire
He's both the devil and a vampire
The cutest scene in the show
Okay, I don't flipping care if she whips me with that little riding crop of hers! I just wanna give little Franny a huge tight hug! :3
