Join The Ohio State University Marching Band and Alumni Marching Band for their pregame performance before Ohio State faced Youngstown State on Sept. 9, 2023.
...if you do decide to visit, schedule the weekend of band homecoming; not only the main band, but the alumni band as well; over 500 players on the field at the same time; and a 4-way Script Ohio too.
Funny story about this pregame. I was an alternate for this game, so I was standing on the sideline with the other alternates and not marching with the rest of the band. As the band was forming the Diamond Ohio for the tunnel, Brutus came up right and front of us and waved to us. Since we’re jot allowed to move, we couldn’t wave back. He saw me trying to hold in laughter and started waving specifically at me. Since I couldn’t move, he came up to me, grabbed my hand, and waved it for me. Watch carefully at 11:07.
As awesome as this is to watch I have one point of contention…it seems the horn snaps and sharp turns are…all over the place. Some do them on the beat. Some before, some after, some are in time, others are quick little jerky looking snaps. As a band member can you clarify this? I’m a long time marching band member/musician and this bugs me every time I watch these. Especially noticeable on script ohio
We were exhausted and didnt really want to be at North Royalton because we had been on the road since like 5:30AM but it turned out to be pretty fun. It was awesome going to the Horseshoe ive always wanted to go there and I will go there again but as a Buckeye fan. Only thing that sucked is our band director made us stand the entire game. We werent mad about losing to OSU we knew it was going to happen.
As a European I have to wonder... why??? If this happened in a European or South American football stadium the beer bottles would be flying. It also strongly reminds me of Arirang in North Korea.
I saw my 1st Ohio State football and band performanced 66 years ago (1957). The field entrance and drum cadance was just as it is today.
Absolutely LOVE this marching band…they’re the BEST!!!❤️
So happy they are back! Love this band!!
Go buckeyes
Goosebumps every damn time.

Yep, the band has 228 members and then there’s a whooole lot of alumni

Keep it up TBDBITL! You guys are the best!
I’m not even an Ohio fan, but the Marching Band has me considering drafting a backup college team outside of Iowa, aside from CO! 😎

Thats classic Brutus behavior right there.
