As a nine, I never felt more attacked in my life. But also, really accurate. How can people expect me to express my opinion out loud if it may create conflict whit somebody else? It is absolutely not happening. I'd rather hide what I think than to argue with someone.
As a 9, I found these very accurate! Currently dealing with #7 :) Also found it hilarious that you note how 9s fear being overlooked or worry that they don’t matter, and then the 9 video is the last one produced. Cracked me up!
So funny! I went to an Enneagram workshop where we had to write a word about our type on banners that were hung around the meeting room...and the 9 banner was furthest from the circle! 😳 ...that was a long awkward walk...😀

Get in touch with your underlying anger, notice your preferences (you have them and they matter), make decisions and lift your eyes. There is so much awesome life to live! I relate to most, but I have strong opinions - I just choose not to share them with most people because I'd rather not bother trying to persuade people. I only voice my real opinions if someone is going to get hurt or something is seriously morally fucked up and I feel I have to to make a tangible difference for someone else.

I totally identify with the 9 who is trying to deflect questions about her dreams. A good friend of mine wanted to ask me what my goals were for the year, so I had to make my answer as complicated as possible so that there was very little chance of her understanding or remembering any of it. I think it worked.
I am getting better with all this. I think the key for any Enneagram type is to find something that you love so much that nothing else going on in your life can really shake it or your core. I'm not talking pets or people, but personal desires.

Yes, this was quite accurate... yet each 9 has different quirks. This 9 can see everyone's point of view (on this hand,... then on that hand... but then on THAT hand....) and they all seem valid at once. To process all of that information, my brain just goes 'blank'... like it is hard to think. I also often go 'blank' when someone is aggressively yelling/blaming/ letting it all out ... and I just stand there like a 'deer in the headlights' ...having a very hard time just thinking, much less responding. ( 9 wing 1) Another bad habit this 9 has is to 'self flush' myself, because why would someone say something cruel if it wasn't true?! I take their opinion AS truth... and down the toity I swirl... (ug...it takes a while for me to work it all through and come up for air again.) One more... is that every other viewpoint seems SO valid, especially ones with LOTS of self confidence, even if they are dead wrong. Since I have so little self confidence, I am like, "Wow! ... I wonder what THAT is like... to just be CONFIDENT!!!" 😂 9's are not all 'wonderful' inside of our selves (myself) ... we struggle a LOT under the outwardly calm water. ( 'Going to 6' stresses even more...)

E9w8 here i aways saw the 9 sloth as we know the right thing to do but we stay quiet to not start a conflict. Like if someone is being bullied the sin of knowing you should do something and just letting it happen. As 9s tend to see big pictures and multiple perspectives they tend to have a clearer view and still they don’t do anything usually siding with the bully out loud and then quietly comforting the victim. I had a 4 comfort me about this.
Yep #2 is extremely accurate. I would go so far as to stay on a University where my friends are because I don't even know what University I like in the first place and I doubt that I chose the right course at all. The worst thing is that I don't even know what I want in the first place.

I actually enjoy a little conflict in debate. That's one of my releases. I hate the thought of 9s being seen as a lame duck in that sense and we should call BS when it's thrown at us. However, seeing how some types can react to being challenged on their BS is probably the sensitivity of the 9. I've often thought the 9's aversion to conflict comes from seeing how other people react to being called out or challenged. We've learned not to rock the boat because a lot of people punish you for rocking their boat, sometimes in very aggressive and irrational ways. I think it's a strategic defence mechanism that you eventually say "it's easier/less stressful to just not deal with your reaction". That's why we make so much effort to choose our words in a way that grants them probably more appeasement/acknowledgement than they often deserve. And I can see how this can play out in situations where stronger words really should be said on the 9's part.

I can't take the debates about masks and vaccinations...I legit feel my blood pressure sky rocket just because something controversial is showing up in my feed. I "escape" by watching a comforting show. And I think the only thing worse than putting me in the middle of a political debate is asking me (especially in a group) where I want to go eat dinner! Decision-making is my biggest weakness.

I thought I was a 4 for a long time, then found out I was definitely a 9. I found out I was specifically a "Social 9" who, like 4s, feel like they don't belong in any group and will usually disdain a group that wants them as a member. Once I found out I was a Social 9 my identity crisis ended, you might look into it for yourself. Also, I don't like to wear make-up and don't have the energy to care about how I look, that definitely ruled me out of being a 4.
As a 9, I just have to laugh at these because they are so true. I’ve noticed such an unhealthy version of myself when I was younger. But now that I’m in my 30’s I have recognized these things about myself and tap into my more assertive self when needed.
I asked my mom to take the test and all she told me was: She's at peace and easy to get along with and forgot her number. 😅 Being a five I was really annoyed by this and she asked if I wanted her to take it over, but I figured out she was a nine and my entire life makes sense now!

Wow. Type 4 that's been dating a Type 9 for almost 5 years here and the unresolved anger/emotions could not be more accurate, I was kind of waiting for it haha! My bf is my best friend, the most selfless person I've ever known and I love him, but this is definitely the most challenging part of our relationship. Where as I am an open book about my emotions and feel all the feels as a 4, my boyfriend expresses himself very differently and let's any negative emotions he has build up to the point he just explodes one day. It doesn't happen very often, but we have both mentally grown a lot because of it and had to learn how to communicate better about processing our emotions over the last few years. Good video :)

that's so true, I align with 9w8 and I have a friend (9w1) that's super quiet. I initiate the conversations most of the time haha. When we meet up though sometimes it's like we know where to go and we know each other's body language well
3:24 im a nine and this is definitely me. i’ve been debating myself on whether to take choir or art next year for school. on one hand, taking choir could land me in classes with more of my friends, and would be more fulfilling. on the other hand, art class would be easier and it would be calmer. :/

My husband is a nine. I wouldn't say he avoids conflict out of fear (although I'm sure it's part of it deep down), it's more like... it takes too much effort to engage in conflict.
I had two roommates who were 9s. I am a 4. I remember having most of these kinds of convos with one of them, and the other one, it felt like I had to help her rationalize what she was going to do(such as, going to the store for something). I go to a 2 in stress, so those convos were not my favorite thing. Love them both to death, but I feel like you were spot on with these points.
My 9w8 husband has the traits you say, but they don’t present in the ways you portray them. I think this is why it took me so long to type him and why he still resists owning his 9ness (but I’m a 1 so I KNOW I’m right. 😂)
I’m a 9 and that was a brutal watch. A praise sandwich would have been more palatable (start and end with good things about 9s). At least I test as a healthy 9. Related to loads of it but it did not make me feel good about being a 9!
Oh I dunno, I feel like I'm a pretty unhealthy 9 (cringe) but this didn't really make me feel too bad. Mostly it reminded me of a few of my quirks that I can work at to do less, but it was funny enough that I'm not like hurt or anything. Uh oh, now I'm torn between 4 and 9 (again) 😂 but all in all, that was a very educative and entertaining video!
I thought I was a 4 for a long time, then found out I was definitely a 9. I found out I was specifically a "Social 9" who, like 4s, feel like they don't belong in any group and will usually disdain a group that wants them as a member. Once I found out I was a Social 9 my identity crisis ended, you might look into it for yourself. Also, I don't like to wear make-up and don't have the energy to care about how I look, that definitely ruled me out of being a 4.
Oooh that last one. I trained them, taught them everything I know but they get promoted….and I just stay where I am. Ugh. I hate being a 9.
I am not sure which one I am, some tests say 9 others 5 but I feel like I somehow relate with 9s more.
As a 9, I just have to laugh at these because they are so true. I’ve noticed such an unhealthy version of myself when I was younger. But now that I’m in my 30’s I have recognized these things about myself and tap into my more assertive self when needed.
I asked my mom to take the test and all she told me was: She's at peace and easy to get along with and forgot her number. 😅
Being a five I was really annoyed by this and she asked if I wanted her to take it over, but I figured out she was a nine and my entire life makes sense now!

Wow. Type 4 that's been dating a Type 9 for almost 5 years here and the unresolved anger/emotions could not be more accurate, I was kind of waiting for it haha! My bf is my best friend, the most selfless person I've ever known and I love him, but this is definitely the most challenging part of our relationship. Where as I am an open book about my emotions and feel all the feels as a 4, my boyfriend expresses himself very differently and let's any negative emotions he has build up to the point he just explodes one day. It doesn't happen very often, but we have both mentally grown a lot because of it and had to learn how to communicate better about processing our emotions over the last few years. Good video :)

that's so true, I align with 9w8 and I have a friend (9w1) that's super quiet. I initiate the conversations most of the time haha. When we meet up though sometimes it's like we know where to go and we know each other's body language well
3:24 im a nine and this is definitely me. i’ve been debating myself on whether to take choir or art next year for school. on one hand, taking choir could land me in classes with more of my friends, and would be more fulfilling. on the other hand, art class would be easier and it would be calmer. :/

As a 9, I would go to the March for the hedgehogs when invited even if it's not something I would normally do. Because I would not want to offend the person asking me.
As a 9, that was eerily spot on... The last scenario was so accurate, as that exact situation had happened to me, and much as I myself hate to admit it, that is exactly how I responded and handled it until finally reaching a breaking point and quitting, which STILL felt traumatizing! Great job!

My husband is a nine. I wouldn't say he avoids conflict out of fear (although I'm sure it's part of it deep down), it's more like... it takes too much effort to engage in conflict.

I had two roommates who were 9s. I am a 4. I remember having most of these kinds of convos with one of them, and the other one, it felt like I had to help her rationalize what she was going to do(such as, going to the store for something). I go to a 2 in stress, so those convos were not my favorite thing. Love them both to death, but I feel like you were spot on with these points.
My 9w8 husband has the traits you say, but they don’t present in the ways you portray them. I think this is why it took me so long to type him and why he still resists owning his 9ness (but I’m a 1 so I KNOW I’m right. 😂)
I’m a 9 and that was a brutal watch. A praise sandwich would have been more palatable (start and end with good things about 9s). At least I test as a healthy 9. Related to loads of it but it did not make me feel good about being a 9!
Oh I dunno, I feel like I'm a pretty unhealthy 9 (cringe) but this didn't really make me feel too bad. Mostly it reminded me of a few of my quirks that I can work at to do less, but it was funny enough that I'm not like hurt or anything. I'm actually laughing at myself right now as I type this because I'm thinking "shoot is this comment gonna be taken the wrong way?" which is such a 9 thing to do lol
