Testing my memory here. Xa - Xc. The Ute tailgates would fold down onto the tow ball causing a dint. (Mine “was” the xy and xr ute where this didn’t happen).
@@markbehr88 yep, at the bulkhead under the rear window in the utes from XA to XH, killed the bed, and then if you were unlucky it ended up attacking the doglegs
@@markbehr88remember a two way tail gate was an option on the wagons with a power window. Could be either dropped down or hinged on the passenger side like a door.Would be a rare option Id imagine.
@@markbehr88 I know it's just an ad, but he's virtually licking his chops, just itching to take it out and thrash it! 🫨 In the 70's and 80's, my father ran an an electrical business specialising in sales and service. He owed a fleet of Holden utes of differing eras. When he bought a new HQ, he gave his employee the old HK he previously drove. When he bought a new HZ a few years later, the employee got the HQ and dad had the HZ. The employees never got the newie. I'm guessing that's how it was normally done in businesses with similar setups.
Coupe, Ute and Van door hinges did not stand up as time they dropped considerably? Something my Galaxie with her extremely heavy doors does not suffer, but you see the bank vault type hinges and understand?😉
Nice models but XA XB and XC were rust buckets unless really cared for sad but true . My favourite in these models is the XA 4 door or 2door in mustard colour best muscle 💪 of the 3 models . Owned these models in Utes and sedans V8and 6 but the 6 was breathless compared to a HEMI 6 . Owned a XC Chaser for a while 351 FMX with the 9 inch diff in the early 90s man that plastic carb drank like a fish . Swapped it for a 600 Holley . Yes even back then the door started to have rust . Sold it to a young bloke in Sydney in the early 90s for $5000 . 😮.
Here are a couple of cool TV ads on the XB Falcon Ute and Panel Van. Please 👍Like and Subscribe. 👍
Great ads. I noted that the big guy in the overalls in the 2nd ad is the bloke who played the "simple" guy in the original Mad Max movie.
@@robbiemontgomery3441 Looks similar. Is it the same guy? 🤔
Max Fairchild I think. He was Beau in the Beaurepaires ads as well, I think.
Passed away in 2017 aged just 71.
@ Too young. 😌
Good ads there Mark on the Falcon XB van and ute
@@shaun30-3-mg9zs Yes, they made the ute and van look like good getaway machines. 👍

@@joelchaplaincare621 Also based on the tongue you had. A drop down tongue would avoid that. 👍
first falcon van (I owned) was an XA, first falcon ute (I owned) was an XB. they were tough buggers

Hi mark, do recall. Ford panel vans, ever having a horizontal tail gate. Xc, ?
