Catherine, you are doing something that I wish I had the guts to do when I was young. Now, at 70+, it’s no longer possible. Who was it that said: “Fear regrets. Never fear failure.” I guess my grandmother’s saying is most true: “Too soon old, too late smart.” You are a brave young woman who is pursuing her passion. I admire that. Keep following your dream and posting your video story!
Keven, if you have the desire you can do it. In two months I will be 83 and I do this type of exploring quite often, if fact, I have been at the exact spot where Cat pitched her tent. I have had a heart attack, have had both knees replaced and have had my lower back fused. Everything hurts when I am out camping/exploring, but do you know what, everything hurts when I am "camped" in front of the TV. I have a travel trailer but haven't used it for four years since my wife passed from cancer. My preference is to travel in my 1995 GMC Suburban or my 2007 GMC Denali. I can do everything I want in either and they even give me more opportunity for back country exploring as both are 4 wheel drive. Remember, memories... not regrets or wishes! Good luck!
I just have to tell you how enjoyable and therapeutic your videos are, across the board. The music is so soothing and wonderful and the images of nature is truly inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing this all with us. I am a big fan!
Stunning shots with the shadowing of the clouds and sun...Oh what a Heavenly light! What a treat beyond comparison. As the Navajo prayer goes; "I Walk in Beauty"...
Your Sunday videos are becoming a ritual for me. It is like going to church, except that your videos have the power of visualuzatio to remind us that there is a Creator a Master of the Universe. Your videos are a clear testimony of the magnificence. Thank you for sharing.
Wow what outstanding views!! We took our youngest there in 2016 from Ohio what an epic trip 7 National parks 11 state parks 6 National monuments 21 days what a trip!!
such nostalgia and memories. i camped alone in canyonlands over 30 years ago. before the area became as popular and crowded. i stayed in a campground in the southern area and i was the only person there. i so miss those days of exploring that area of the country.
The calm before the...calm. Blue sky, gorgeous scenery, rainy sky; for me, to have very few or no people around negates MOST of the negative weather conditions.
Funny isn’t it? We want clear blue skies but that doesn’t always make for good photography/videography. Nothing can compare to partially cloudy skies with the sun shining through on the landscape. Especially that one! Thanks for bringing us another stunning video!👍🙏
1) The hand warmer trick for the batteries is great. My phone couldn’t hold a charge overnight last week. 2) The shot of the sunset through the front door of your tent was amazing. 3) it wasn’t the trip you intended. Sometimes those are he best and most adventurous. Great video.
Hi from Germany, again I travel virtually with you, this time in my "number one" national park, which I have been to about ten times. And I can confirm that it is indescribably beautiful even when it is snowing. Liebe Grüße aus Deutschland
What a great way to wake up enjoying your video for a Monday morning at 4 o’clock so the moon 🌝 is cranking, so I’ve been awake this whole time but it’s so nice to see the sunsets where you’re at and the view great view. I’m glad you were able to at least get out for an overnight hike stay warm ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Just came across your channel. I’m so happy for you that you made the choice to leave the mundane repetitive lifestyles for a life of freedom, and you chose to take us along. Wishing you the best in all your adventures.
One of my favorite things before my knees went bad was solo backpacking and bush-craft. You're absolutely taking life by the reins and doing it right. One of my most favorite areas in the U.S. is Moab and Canyonlands and I love getting out there yearly and Jeeping all over the beautiful landscapes. I love doing the La Sal Mountains Loop. Wonderful sunset vid...my favorite time of the day in any desert is those few fleeting moments at Sunset, especially when there are clouds and light rain. It brings out the vibrant colors of the desert although it all fades to darkness to soon leaving me wishing for an encore and looking forward to tomorrow's dusk. Cheers Catherine. Get some!
Good Sunday morning Catherine. The sunset view from your "front door" is amazing, as are all the others! Although I am physically challenged, I am doing my homework, and planning a trip to Moab and all the surrounding areas in early May. I will also visit Mesa Verde in Colorado. I plan on a 10 day journey. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's you, who inspired me to get back " out there" and see places I had not been yet. Love you, and be safe! God Bless. 🙏😇
My hiking days are over but your vidio s help bring back sooooo many memories. Thanks for the awsome vidios again !!! You always hit it out of the park !!! God Bless & take care!!!!!
Wow! Simply amazing that all the geological formations and stunning views were created by the power of nature. Cat's amazing video of the Canyon lands and a coffee..... life's great on a Sunday morning! Thanks for sharing!
Spectacular scenery. Thanks for another great Sunday morning video. Sorry it was so windy. An hour to pitch your tent! The views more than made up for it. Such a great national park.
America the beautiful. Your video was simply magnificent. That did look like a painting behind you. Thanks for the amazing splendor. Stay well. stay safe. I don't know if you can top that.
I did that hike a few years ago. Spent 2 weeks hiking around island in the sky district. It was the first time I’d ever camped alone and hiked alone. I loved every minute of it and it made me so happy to see you there.
Your views and composition are so tantalizing. Spring weather does get unpredictable in that area. Canyonlands is so vast with magnificent views. Good for you - taking lots of water. From personal experience, I applaud your smart decision. The Chesler park area is also nice, but island in the sky gives you some outstanding canyon views. Thank you so much for taking us along!
Hello Cat 😊👋what a awesome scenery 🏜⛺️ you had a very nice sunset 😊 but... We needed a blanket too, when when we saw your windy, freezy weather conditions 😂😂😂 thanks a lot again, have a great save week 😊your Berlin couple fan community 😂😘
I was able to take 4 days and 3 nights on White Rim Road in the canyon. Canyonlands is a magical place to explore in all 3 sectors. Thanks for taking me along with your beautiful photography
Beautiful as always Katherine. You never cease to amaze me with the places and things you show us. The opening was gorgeous and it is a good thing that the sun rises and sets do not last or you could never be able to move on.
beautiful just as I imagined it, yes, the weather was so windy and cold. Glad you made it through that cold night. We had sand inside the tent too, so I know what you went through. Sunset was amazing. Mesa Arch is always great.
Canyonlands is one of the best kept secrets. I think it is because for a lot of people they find it kind of boring. The best way to see the place is backpacking witch most people who visit Nation Parks don't want to do.
Thanks for another great video, you always do the best videos, those views are amazing, yes the clouds make it even better, and that sunrise is amazing as well. I wouldn't want to leave once I got there.
Love your shots of the hoodoos with the La Sal mountains in the background. It’s also breathtaking from LaSal looking down on the hoodoos. Thanks for this fun trip!!
Canyonlands NP is one of our favorites. So many breathtaking views. When we would think we had seen the best, another was just around the bend. Thank you, Cat, for sharing your journeys with us. Safe travels and God bless!
Cat you know youve caught the perfect moment when the observer is surprised by a trickling tear running down their cheek...in awe of the overwhelming beauty.....thx for sharing the red rocks !!! Music was right on Cat !!

Cat - What a really nice overnighter with a little snow thrown in! Lovely scenery and it is an area I'd like to visit maybe one day. Some stunning camerawork and vistas! Look forward to you next adventure and thanks for taking us along with you... 😉👌👍
Wow, what a backdrop to wake up to, I did a backpack trip in the Badlands last year. It reminded me of our campsite. Thank you for sharing, simply beautiful!
Your lifestyle choice and narrative reflect four great themes in literature: Beatus ille... carpe diem...locus amoenus... tempus fugit. Horace, Thoreau, Virgil... now Gregory!
Good morning Cat! Your wake-up beats the one I had from the power company at 12:38 this morning when our power came back after a brief (two hours) fair weather outage. Got a good laugh on the ramen. I survived on too much of that stuff in my college dorm rooms when the dining hall was inedible. Bittersweet memories. Excellent video once again. However, I must especially comment on your choice of music at the close. While always great, you outdid your previous choices there. The sadness and parting conveyed via the music was spot-on! Praying that Almighty God continues to uphold, bless, guard, guide, and protect you in your adventures!
Hey Catherine! Joe again, what a stunning location 👌. You have great life with new locations almost every week, once again a total inspiration to all and don’t forget how brave you are👍. I did like the part when you were sitting having food with your hiking boots either side and the crocs for inside your tent, respect the tent 😅
wife and I did a day trip from this trailhead down to the peninsula which heads out to Murphys Hogback. Lots of bang for the buck. We did not do the longer loop option.
Thank you, how beautiful and interesting. You don't see this in New England. I love it and seeing it with the California dream. Myself, it looks like snake season is almost here. Watch out.
Island In The Sky is my favorite area in the Moab region. Another thing worth considering for some great photo potential is the drive down into Castle Valley from the La Sal mountains. Late day light can produce some fantastic colors. There are several good pullouts. The Southwest is the ultimate climate for dressing in layers. 😄😄😉
The music choices are so tasteful, and coupled with those sunset shots, it literally brought a tear to my eye. This is a work of art.
Your videos rival the Discovery and History channels and frankly more entertaining in my opinion............great job!
Canyonlands and Arches National Parks, right next to each other, probably the most amazing views on the planet.
The very best years of this old river rats life was guiding the Colorado and the amazing canyons. Stunningly beautiful post sweet soul. Namaste 🕉️

Another beautiful Sunday video. It's like a Sunday sermon. Calming quiet and beautiful views. 😁
The only problem I have with this video is that it wasn't longer, simply breathtaking. I can't wait to be out there one day.
