So much beautiful architecture there just going to waste. Sad
Yes the area itself doesn't look that bad. Maybe it's the people who make this place worst.
@@Larrypint thats racist!
@@robingeilhuber6081 truth is racist
Robin Geilhuber no it’s not lmao
Racist? Explain! It's just a observation. the architecture and streets dont look like a "worst area" but when it really is the worst area because of violence and gangs then it's 100% the people that live there.
A lot of nice architecture
I'm still tryna figure out how Charlie be knowin all the blocks to pull up on dat be jumpin??🤣🤣🤣 I'm salty when he was ridin thru A-1 he ain't show footage of Carplin, I'm 100% sure y'all woulda seen me on da block😭😭😭😭 no cap🤷🏾♂️

Nice one Charlie
I love my city! No matter what your race is the best part about cincy is you could get outta your car and join any of those conversations and be accepted and make a new friend! Honestly cincinnati is a friendly city. 513☮💚

You ain't make it to the other end of Linn where I live its bad down here too you missed it
the nati is so live fr we be fucking chillin
Next videos I’d love: Charlie goes to London UKs worst hoods...that would be interesting.
London is definitely a lot worse than Gloucester or Cheltenham, but had a car vandalized in Gloucester once (stole my Blaupunkt stereo!). Cheltenham had a lot of "hooligans" that liked to cause trouble but if you looked like you could handle your business they left you alone.
I've been up here since August 23rd and I've have searched for the hood side of Cincinnati the hole in the wall restaurants have the best food
Peace ! 513 in here!!!
Bet this was a beautiful city way back when
Yeah, and the racism was even worse too. Not very beautiful if you ask me. But Cincinnati is my home, the city that raised me.
It still is a beautiful city. I go to DTW every week, my band rehearses on John st. Stop at the Amir market for beer and snacks on the reg. I love my city.
&... this is Cincinnati?
My Late Mothers Cousin & Mother Lived there Till their Deaths, my Former Church Member's Son Lives there with his Wife, he was from here from Suburban Inglewood, Calif, Outside of L.A. went into the Navy, Met his Wife, Settled in Cincy, Bought a Older 5 Bedroom in the City, had a Child & that's That!
when ur a kid growing up places like that was fun to hang around to be safe and ur never scared of your own ppls or friends they wnt hurt u or anyone else they just mostly scared ppl
A lot of the areas you drove through, in OTR mainly, has been gentrified with shops, restaurants, and bars. Its an amazing neighborhood now. I would say the west end and near UC is where a lot of the crime happens now.
OTR will always be the same. Shootings everyday like normal
You forgot about Westwood, Millville ,moose wood, the day, wonton terrace, bond hill, rose lawn
Roselawn plz... U mean walnut hillz, the fay, lower price hill, west wood, E town
Wat bout Kennedy hts 😭😭😭
Walnut hills all day, McMillian ppl’s corner to be exact💯
513 raised! It's getting gentrified in Over-The-Rhine now......
Born and raised in the 513
Maaaan I haven't been back in a couple of years. The Faye, Smokestacks, Evanston, Fairmont, Lower Price Hill, so many hoods back in the day.
Maaaaan driving around those spots in OTR I used to roam around. Ain't nothing changes in some parts. Much respect for stopping in Roselawn!
Mane every hood in America is getting gentrified its ridiculous
Good
Charlie I notice you go to NYC a lot. Have you done the hoods in Long Island such as Hempstead, wyandanch, New Cassel? Got some nice black areas there too like Wheatley Heights
I think Charlie did Hempstead. New cassel really only one street, prospect.
Babylon is done.
America isn't babylon you moron. Thats saudi arabia or jizzrael.
man i never understood the hype of over the rhine. i’ll drive thru sometimes and it’s nothing but garbage all over, boarded up buildings. it looks like escape from new york .
8:18 greetz from Germany, this looks like good middle class houses in Germany. ...maybe it's the people and gang "culture" that makes this area worst.
It looks beautiful but its still poor and yes it also has a toxic culture in any hood in america
It might be middle class over their but not here
@@Foreign780 just in comparison look at the picture of a destrict in berlin. In front you see middle class houses and behind you see huge apartment blocks where people live that normally have a lower income (under 30 000 € per year). These apartments have normally between 40-70 square meters for 1-4 people. And the criminal stats are still relative low there cause we don't have a destructivd gang culture. Wow a lot of hoods on the east & Midwest resemble a lot!
Midwest like the east and the south combined with a sprinkle of oakland lol
Armond Chaney interesting shit
Good video, Charlie! The first 8 mins of the video gave me a bit of an East Coast vibe. What's your take on Cincinnati?
The streets are very active and rough looking, good place to film. It does have more of an east coast vibe with all the crowding and congestion Didn't get a chance to hit all the spots although I do have a little more footage I may post. I'll be coming back to film more here.
CharlieBo313 Agreed. I spend a lot of time in Cincy. Has a bit of that rowhouse vibe in OTR like in Baltimore and Philly. Narrow/tight streets. Lot of that old brick and Victorian. Old city as well. Amazing how far OTR has come though in the area with all the restaurants and business thriving though when 15 years ago it was even worse. All that area was filmed in Traffic with Michael Douglas. The scenes where the daughter was scoring dope down in OTR. Great job as usual man!
Wow Cincinnati looks a lot like the east coast. Interesting.
Both eastern and southern. There’s a part looks east coast and a part looks country
Yes it does, some sorces say it rivals baltimore and boston
Probably cuz it’s right by the east coast
@@marposted Cincinnati is right by the east coast? You need a geography lesson buddy.
Fabio Leyva Yeah cuz Ohio is by the east coast states, I wasn’t even trynna be mean get out your feelings
the older hood dudes in these areas cool as hell man im from chicago and moved out here like my first day out here dude gettin gas across from me yells “ayee i see u with the pradas on you dont see that shit out here thats tight!” lmao. idk i fee like chicago nobody dishes out compliments like that from across parking lots 😭😭

As someone from Cincinnati, I’ve been on most of the streets and areas even if I just rode pass or visited family
I patrolled those areas (Over-the-Rhine and the West End) as a uniformed Cincinnati Police Officer off and on from 1994 to 2000. Yeah, they were bad, lots of drug trafficking and violence. Most of the old housing projects (lots of domestic violence and assault calls) in the West End have been torn down, and at least half or more of Over-the-Rhine has been gentrified with urban pioneers, shops, and restaurants.
Worked downtown 6th and Race . Did you know police officer Tom who has passed? My uncle was a Cincinnati PO who was friends with Tom. He worked the West End. He lived around River Road. That's where Pete Rose played base ball with my brother. BOLD FACE PARK. My bro hung at JJ's at corner of 8th and State. Some people called.my brother a legend! It's been years.
@@tucky2297 Yes, I knew, and was work friends with Tom Haas, who passed away from cancer this past year. He was a good man, and he is missed.
@@701CPD Wondering if you knew my Uncle Sheryl Ledford? Some people called him Mr. Led. He retired and moved to Florida. My brother had quite a reputation in Sedamsville .When he was 17 Uncle Sheryl consigned for a 1959 Chevy Impala....with the stipulation that he could drive it to Florida first.. My brother drag raced it at the Lawrenceburg speedway. He was always turning wrenches to make it faster! He was pretty well known for out running the police back then. Erie Ledford's car was called The Black Widow. Spider webs were pinstriped on the black Impala and had a red dot on the top. I was 12 YEARS,YOUNGER than him!
@@701CPD MY brothers name was Ernie Ledford.
Why didn’t you show lower Price Hill?
I feel like a few years ago it wasn’t that bad but lately it’s gotten noticeably worse.
What part of Cincinnati is this? I thought OTR, but OTR's been blitzed by gentrification, right?
Its west end and the northern part of Over The Rhine
I lived in some of these areas as a child, but like many, I wouldnt trade it for the world. made me who I am today. you could make this video in ANY city in America
Right On, I Was Always Taught To Never Forget Where I Came From. 💯
Looks like a lot of abandoned property out there wonder if it's worth the money to buy it
Lamel Prince yep for the low for now!!
Gentrification?
Jbird yep exactly in its early phases some those same buildings have sat empty for years untouched so??
@@crystalbrame7886 What is the average price per building?
Lamel Prince not really sure about that however if you shopped around you probably could find what you looking for in your price range not sure on the Taxes either I don't believe they are astronomical for the area check with a local realtor ???
Cincinnati has a LOT of interesting architecture. Plus it has an abandoned subway system that never opened
I wish it was a actual subway
Next time you come to Cincinnati you need to go to Price Hill, Westwood, fair mount, basically the west side
Cincinnati's own Bootsy Collins 🌟 and Katt Williams.
I remember visiting Cincinnati in May of 2003. I walked the Vine St, elm st, race st areas for 8 months there. I lost count on how many times I was approached by different people asking if I needed anything, even couple of times threatened but luckily I was walking in groups with other guys. Rumors have it the Cincinnati police at times were afraid to go into them areas because they knew how it was too. I can't say I blame them. But to keep a long story short I got the hell out of there in February of 2003.
I use to go to Bogarts to watch concerts on Vine St. man it was bad

@@jeremycrowe4693 Yep. It could be difficult unless you know the area. My granny lived around Bogarts. I live in Newport Ky across the river from Cincinnti. It was known for Beverly Hills Supper Club where many people lost their lives years ago. Also known for Racketeering and Strip Clubs years ago. Guess it made Cincinnati seem tame during that time. People were shooting and killing each other in their day.. Kinda mafia mentality... ie Frank Screw Andrew and Vance Raleigh who ran a strip club called The Brass Ass. My in- laws are what brought me there! They said it was a profitable time to live there?
Still great vid, try to go out west or walnut hills, etown further over east, u got riverside, eastend the area u shown errybody nd they mama seen dat, and downtown ain't all that dangerous nomo

Compared to Cleveland’s worst parts this isn’t bad
Beautiful italianate architecture
I love this, it's my old hood "down the way" lived above Tuckers on Vine the cover photo is literally one building away.
One of my favorite Midwest City's the Architecture is beautiful in most parts that I've seen I lived there for like 10 years well in the Area and I liked Cincinnati I also went to the Cincinnati Job Corps on Western Avenue a lot of good Memories and also Northern Kentucky Cool place to be

There's something about the vibe & the colors of these hoods that just make u like it... Being from south side LA, our hoods are wild & lil more fast pace.

I used to live on Chickering which is one block from the Winton projects. There were a few times we had gunshots on our street. We had a breakin from some Juvies but they didn't get past our security known as Sadie, the pit bull! All in all, during the day, it's all fine but I wouldn't drive through there at night.

San Fran is certainly the hilliest large city in the US. After that I would say Pittsburgh would be second and perhaps followed by Cincinnati.
