I'm late to the show, but at least I'm here! This is such a fun, funky dance song. Would love to see her in concert or at a festival outside and just dance in the grass as she plays this. Still love Meshell after all this time!!! Hope she keeps making music and playing forever. What a beautiful woman.
this song reminds me of a rich and flavorful dish..there's a mix of genres and there are parts that even remind me of Buddhist chants..like you can actually feel her and relate to her trying to will things to happen. Meshell's work is always so well produced., I can definitely appreciate the amount of time she puts into her work..
My 2024 New Year's?Greeting! Loved seeing you, M at Blue Note with Talib. I hope you got the flowers that i left downstairs. They arrived a few minutes after the concery ended, or iwould have presented the directly. Your gopi - TESSA
I really don´t get the hip, what people are saying here, that her last 3 albums are that good (since "Devil's Halo"). This song and "Modern Times" are the ones really enjoyable from "Comet, Come To Me"... Or even people that just had already now discover her music, are praising her. To be honest, I found her last 2 albums really disappointed and bad. Where are the GROOVE from her old music gone?? Where are the bad-ass bass lines gone? The jazz, or hip-hop-touches in her songs now??? The SOUL??? Her music is going into a really boring indie-pop-like kind of music, that dozen from other artists are already doin, not really a new thing at all, even I understand that an artist like her maybe want to go new ways and do not sound like a proved formula). Washed, clean, clever, good produced, but SOULESS, IMO. Her first album ("Plantation Lullabies") is still miles away in terms of quality from her last works. But, its only my humble opinion, and a matter of taste, nothing more. Then I´m more into (Neo) Soul Music, not rock.
I don't think it gets better than this...
France loves Meshell :-D

Heard this on the radio and immediately fell in love with it! Its awesome how you go from a slow contemporary kinda vibe to a reggae sound :)
