Nothing really replaces that slight tang/very slight sweet - like not sweet sweet but - just something in the background of the salad that makes it extra yummy from the apple cider vinegar. I think it’s a must. Not all use the ACV, but I think it’s much better with it.
Oh yeah, and.. and crushed pineapple! Personally never tried it yet with HB egg though. Chef said very customizable, so it can even be done Vegan & gluten free for family with allergies. I make that one simpler by using L&LBBQ recipe using GF Mac, Tamari instead of soy sauce, and vegan mayo no tuna or pineapple. Never tried the vegan format with piña only because I was too worried it’d be too sweet.

Yes, also freshly smoked or cooked tuna is an absolute game changer.
Tiny canned shrimp also works well with this recipe in place of tuna 👍❤❤
