Thank you for this teardown. This gives me a lot of confidence to go deeper than I would normally. I tried to increase my memory. Slots 3 and 4 were already full, so I bought matching sticks for slots 1 and 2. Unfortunately when I opened it up, the DIM Slots were missing. Is there any solution to this or am I stuck with just using just two slots instead of 4?
@@goikyfx I checked this out. Apparently there was a 2 core and a 4 core CPU option. The 2 core option only has two slots. The 4 core option has 4 slots. Thanks for your help.
I have a 17 inch hp book g3. The keyboard is flexible and I want to fix it myself. Can you tell me what kind of supports do I need to fix the keyboard? Thx!
I used to have an HP Elitebook 8760w, It was a good laptop. I installed a GTX 770m and a GTX 870m in it. I am retireing it though cause the screen is starting to die, I thought it was the graphics card but it wasn't. I ended up sending the graphics card back. I'm thinking of getting a Zbook 17 G1 or G2. Which one is yours? G1? Edit: Wow they actually fixed everything that was wrong with the 8760w in that model.
@@goikyfx New board new problems. I order my parts from HP since they are under warranty. 50% of the time the part is DOA. On a few occasions they sent me boards that were bent. I have must have worked over 200 machines by now. Dell are much more reliable and I have yet to receive a DOA part from them.

Your device has only two slots, probably a cheaper model.You need to use two modules od RAM. Old RAM out and install two bigger modules.

Its not my notebook, i dont know how version Is it. I think G1.

Not so easy. Motherboard was wrong :) I had to disassembly and replace new board :(

there is a docking station that works beautifully. It is powered and gives a lot more connectivity as well. It is huge, but it works.
What about screen, camera, etc.?
