When painting silk florals for wedding decor, I found it quick and neat to leave them attached to the stems and spray with a clear spray paint, first. Then add silver, gold or color of your choice, by holding the end of the stem and rotating them while spraying. They were usually covered in one application, but a second application can be used for any missed spots.
