Deforisk: Innovating deforestation risk mapping for climate action

Deforisk is a cutting-edge solution developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with financial support from the AIM4Forests: Accelerating Innovative Monitoring for Forests programme and in collaboration with the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD).
This innovative solution generates precise deforestation risk maps, empowering governments, organizations and decision-makers to assess deforestation risks within specific regions, protect ecosystems, and unlock climate finance opportunities.
By identifying high-risk areas, Deforisk supports targeted interventions to prevent forest loss, enhance carbon accounting, and contribute to global climate action efforts.
