You are right. We learnt about the words for wildflower and Fireworks as with everything RM does we learn something new. We are millions of non Koreans but RM teaches us so many interesting things about Korea and the Korean language. Youjeen's of Cherry Filter her voice is so amazing.
This song is so beautiful and so full of emotion as it made me cry thruout. Rm is such a poet and his lyrics are truly beautiful and poetic and manages to bring out all the emotion inside os me, not only this but the MV is also very beautiful aswell. Also I love just how raw RM is with these lyrics and showing his true self to everyone. This is why I love this man to pieces. After watching wild flower I can't help but cry it's so passionate yet raw at the same time and just so beautiful. I was completely speechless

As an English speaker I have studied these lyrics and watched the video so many times. I also felt his pain. But while the music video almost made me cry it was also beautiful. It was a strange feeling. Such beauty but so much pain. But in the first song on the album “Yun”, RM sings “true beauty is a true sadness, now you can feel my madness.” And in an interview Youjeen, the female vocalist, said the song was not really a comforting song. She said that her part was letting all the emotions out that RM has been feeling. Oh, and thanks for paying close attention to the lyrics. He asked ARMY to please listen to them.
He is such amazing Artist, rapper, leader and amazing person too. Through this song he said he wanted life his life like a wildflowers on the ground instead of fireworks that shoot up in the sky but burn out quickly. I think he shared life struggles but also his self through this song/album. So proud of him as ARMY.

In their last FESTA, RM talked about being the leader of the group was a lot of work, and he lost his direction, his purpose. Why he started this, and making music that really expressed and showed himself. He hasn’t been able to do that in a long time. They all talked about it, so they are taking this time to make music that they truly like, and be true to themselves, to find out who they are and what they want to share with the rest of the world. This song talks about that, he’s finding himself, he was swallowed by the pressure, the constant need to produce new music, new shows, travel, concerts, work, being the leader, meetings, etc…. He wants to be true to himself and make himself better by understanding who he is and getting a clear picture of what he wants. He’s coming back, and is going to be better. Same with all the other members. 💜

I'm so happy the two of you reacted to this song! Since I don't speak Korean it's so intersting to hear about lyrics from those who speak and are from the culture. I really liked hearing about flame and wild flower sounding similar in Korean and your take on what this could mean. For us who speak English, we're hearing the word play of flowerwork and flirework. Similarly, I think of him not wanting to feel/be like a firework that's kind of synthetic, blows up with such power beauty, only to fade quickly...and rather be free like a flowerwork (wildflower) in its natural habitat but yet affects what's around it. The petals floating are like a lingering feeling that gently touches you and remains with you. His wordplay in both languages is so other level and hus ability use korean words that rhyme with each other, English words that rhyme with each other and Korean and English words that rhyme with each other...wow. He's lived a life in his 20s that many will never relate to or have the opportunity to experience yet everything he has to say resonates so universally. He's genuinely a very very special person. If I can make one recommendation per your decision on tiny desk (and I know everyone enjoys music in their own way), Namjoon mentioned he hoped fans could listen through the album as is, in order, for the full experience. As a longtime army, it's one of my most memorable full album sit throughs I've ever experienced. And no worries, ARMYs are expert analysts too, K-Armys who are bilingual immediately understood the Wildflower - Firework (Fireflower) wordplay even before the song was released. Especially because Namjoon has talked about wanting to be like a wildflower before (first time was in 2016). So the significance was not lost at all!! But THANK YOU for adding the explanation of the wordplay for people who may not be familiar. I really love your reactions and I'm looking forward to them. This song in particular is very raw and beautiful and bringing Youjeen's explosive but beautiful vocals was the perfect choice. Her voice is like fireworks exploding with emotion at the perfect time.
