Great review, would you say the T+A also brought some warmth to the sound of your system, along with the clarity, sound-staging and bass improvements? And how would you describe what the dampening factor adjustments affect the frequency? (more warmth or less when you change the settings?) I hope it would help make less high quality recordings more listenable. Thank you :)

Thank you for your feedback! Take it with a grain of salt as I am speaking of my memory. It has been months since I had these beautiful monos in my system. My experience in changing the damping factor was mainly on the dryness of the base. The control increased.
Regarding the lower quality recordings, i would definitely start with the DAC but you’re right, the power amp has some influence as well. What kind of recordings are you thinking of specifically?

@@HiFi-Tom Thanks for your response, I think there are a good number of recordings I listen to that are not "audiophile" quality like older recordings from Nina Simone, or Hip Hip or old Classical recordings etc. I listen to many different types of genres. So I was just curious if changing the dampening factor would maybe help take the "edge" off of some of these types of recordings. I've also considered adding an analog equalizer at some point which I know some audiophiles are not in favor of. If it didn't like it in the system, I would remove it for sure (but this is a separate topic). But the high frequencies are what can be most bothersome with some of these types of recordings for sure. I am considering some Piega Coax 411 speakers so the fact that you have some of their towers (711) and are trying amps I have considered as well, made me very curious about your videos. Keep them coming!

@@hubertpoint10 for sure I will! The damping factor will Likely not do much for you in the high frequencies. One way might be an amp with some level of tone control even though I am not a fan and they have become rare…
At the end of the day, you should go and try. With 411 and hip hop you’ll likely need a sub?!

@@HiFi-Tom Yes I will definitely try before committing, sound is so room/system/preference dependant, so demoing in some way is recommended. And I will have subs at some point for sure since I am in favor of having full control of the bass (volume levels and dispersion with dipole or ripole subs). Also when I heard the 411's, their bass was very good! Tight and punchy, no issues with rap music. No immediate need for subs in a small room, but subs will be added eventually when I get a bigger space because I believe they will enhance many things. It's fascinating how they can even affect the soundstage in positive ways
