I got on so much trouble at middle school. I wrote the bit No Sex, No Drugs, No Wine, No Women, No Fun, No Sin, No You, No Wonder it's dark.. The greatest lines ever to appear in a song.. On the front of my German exercise book and my teacher went ballistic. She was old and believed on God so I can feel her concern. I was well lost at that point so she should've just gone away instead of giving me detention
This is USA calling... This song was one of the very (very) few UK punk/mod songs to get American airplay! (The Buzzcocks, the Jam & the Stranglers rarely-if ever- appeared on Yank radio!) And NO ONE in the States knew what this song was REALLY about! In fact, a radio spot for "New Clear Days" featured an American announcer slowly developing a Japanese accent! (No way in HELL that would fly today!)
I've got your picture of me and you You wrote, "I love you", I wrote, "Me too" I sit there staring and there's nothing else to do Oh, it's in color, your hair is brown Your eyes are hazel and soft as clouds I often kiss you when there's no one else around I've got your picture, I've got your picture I'd like a million of ya over myself I want a doctor to take your picture So I can look at you from inside as well You've got me turning up and turning down And turning in and turning 'round I'm turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so I've got your picture, I've got your picture I'd like a million of them over myself I want a doctor to take your picture So I can look at you from inside as well You've got me turning up and turning down And turning in and turning 'round I'm turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so Turning Japanese I think I'm turning Japanese I really think so No sex, no drugs, no wine, no women No fun, no sin, no you, no wonder it's dark Everyone around me is a total stranger Everyone avoids me like a psyched Lone Ranger Everyone... OMG... is this actually Fenton, Bazelgette, and the Smith brothers? I recognize Fenton (barely - I saw them live in the early 80's), but I can't be sure with the others.
Because it is about isolation and alienation, which are very depressing things to experience. It was just disguised in a very poppy, up-tempo package. That contrast was part of it's attraction. Nothing has changed except you, and your understanding of those feelings through personal experience. It is really a very appropriate song for the last few years.
My brother bought New Clear Days when it first came out, I don't know why, but I'm glad he did. One of the best 80s album you could listen to.
THE VAPORS ................... PERÚ !
great performance
NEW WAVE

This is the way it's done, folks! Notice: not a single mobile cell video camera phone in the crowd (well, except for that dude)
Muy bien the vapors. Excelente

Why did America “miss” bands like the Jam and the mod scene do you think? Paul Weller is still popular. It was huge here.
I've got your picture of me and you
You wrote, "I love you", I wrote, "Me too"
I sit there staring and there's nothing else to do
Oh, it's in color, your hair is brown
Your eyes are hazel and soft as clouds
I often kiss you when there's no one else around
I've got your picture, I've got your picture
I'd like a million of ya over myself
I want a doctor to take your picture
So I can look at you from inside as well
You've got me turning up and turning down
And turning in and turning 'round
I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese

I want a doctor to take your picture
So I can look at you from inside as well
You've got me turning up and turning down
And turning in and turning 'round
I'm turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so
Turning Japanese
I think I'm turning Japanese

No sex, no drugs, no wine, no women
No fun, no sin, no you, no wonder it's dark
Everyone around me is a total stranger
Everyone avoids me like a psyched Lone Ranger
Everyone...

😍💥
Drummer has turned a little browner....
Lmao
Why does this song sound depressing after hearing how it sounded back in the 80s
Because it is about isolation and alienation, which are very depressing things to experience. It was just disguised in a very poppy, up-tempo package. That contrast was part of it's attraction. Nothing has changed except you, and your understanding of those feelings through personal experience. It is really a very appropriate song for the last few years.
Dedicada a shannon Lee beaultifull samurai
The Kristen Dunst video film in Japan is a better version.
😂 she don’t get the really meaning of the song. Her version is ridiculous
I love all that Japanese sh#t and she does look special in the vid with all them kamaguchi babes.. The sort of girls that Japanese office men love.
