Hey Buddies
I've created this Patreon page to help with the production of my guitar tutorial videos. I'm not planning to change what I already do and I will continue to respond to requests regardless of someone being a contributor or not. I have therefore set the patron amount at the lowest level of just $1 for those who wish to show their appreciation and to help with the purchase of strings, picks, music paper, sharpie pens, hard drives and cups of tea.
Thank you
Jase

Awesome lesson, concise, straight to the song, very easy to follow and very well presented. No fuss & No bull*@T. Need to learn this for a gig next weekend and so refreshing to find a video like this which is a rare mix of professional, exact & ego free. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Haven't seen your videos before but so many people could learn soooo much from your direct honest approach. Nice playing too... very easy to follow and see what's going on. YOU ROCK!

Fantastic. Thanks for sharing
Nice lesson! Best one I've seen for this song
Thanks :)
Awesome! Thank you very much!!
You horrible bugger, I', gonna be up all night now turning or at least learning how to be able to play Japanese | What a classic song bud! well done!
GRAZIEEEE JASON FANTASTIKKKKKK ALIENOOOOO
Thank You Mate! Fantastic.
Cheers :)
Sometimes i give more props to the really simplistic guitar riffs/songs that just nobody came up with! Because not everything that sounds good has to be these really complex riffs and solos....just look at Nirvana for example just catchy tunes with easy solos but it worked so well!
Your a geezer. Great tutorial
All my favourite songs have a dark meaning.
Not only Turning Japanese..
She Said by the Lonpigs, Drink The Elixir by Salad, Hobo Humpin Slobo Babe by Whale, Angel in the Centerfold, Come (cum) on Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners, even A Thousand Trees by the Stereophonics. Explore the lyrics and learn.
Turning Japanese is the facial expression you pull when knocking one out. haha seriously.
One of my favorites - however I find it better to play the chorus down at the first fret - c and f cowboy chords makes playing the riff really easy.
Keep up the videos - really appreciate them.
Macaroon thanks for the tip :)
Brilliant, one of my favourites 😉
mike hussey it's great fun to play :)
Now getting on it.😊
Jason, you have a knack for picking little gems!
Brilliant, will be having a go later,
The Monkees You Bring The Summer or a XTC song tho not Making Plans For Nigel 🙂 cheers
Ulp....was this really out in 1980! I first learned how to do unison bends from the solo in this song...
ten seconds in already dying subscribe/New fav channel✅🤣
Thank you. On what key is this song played? Guitar is in Standard tunning?
Rocking
I just wanna play the first part
Youre
Leaving off the 1st note of the 1st rff in the verse
My guitar just left home....I tried to play this (lesson is very clear and easy to follow) but it sounded like I was torturing it.... XD
I remember an episode of Beavis and Butthead saying that Turning Japanese and Devo's Whip it has masturbatory overtones in the songs......
Yes, apparently it has something to do with the face you pull whilst roughing up the suspect.
Gee always thought verse was an up stroke off beat
Not really a nerd no research on this opinion, but I think it's E Major
I know E minor is the g relative but it sounds like e major on the studio version.. maybe I suck idk
This song is so frikkin fast
Mosquito tone
theres a missing chord in your lesson....on the verse part its G B E D C---C E D
I know the bit you mean but if you listen that 2nd chord is a C :)
