i realize you’re not going to get amazing bass with the stock system, but does this sub pound quite a bit harder? my stock sub blew and i’d like to do something like this to replace it.
Its way better than the stock but it is best with an amplifier.

All 8in subs will fit in a 8in sub cutout but don’t put a huge 8in competition sub in there it will be a infinity box and you’d need a aftermarket amp for it and it would just be a weird bass effect
I think this is a great idea if space is a concern however, the factory amp is probably only supplying at best, 100 watts. That sub you installed could probably use another 100 watts or so. Another thing is that you are at the mercy of the factory Honda equalization, which limits subwoofer bandwidth to about 10 Hz to 45 Hz. I found this information in the forums and also by checking it myself with test tones on a USB. I ended up getting a JL Audio FiX 86 OEM integration DSP, which flattens the factory EQ curve and already had a JL Audio TwK-88 system tuning DSP, which re-equalizes and crosses over all the speakers. It turned out great, although somewhat expensive and time consuming. Great video though!

@@assail4041 if you still have the factory speakers, they will need to be filtered somehow. Otherwise, you will damage the tweeters for sure.
Was looking at the Crutchfield options for replacing the factory sub, and it indicates "Replacing the low-impedance factory speaker with a 4-ohm aftermarket speaker will result in lower volume levels." Did you notice this with yours?
Volume level seems the same to me but with exceptional bass. U cant go wrong with kicker. 😊🤙
Did you ever do this mod Jose? I did with a civic and it completely neutered the bass. Ended up getting the LC21 output converter with a bass control knob and an amp. All was good after that.

If civic si 08 comes with stock sub then installation is the same procedure. Just make sure u know the size of your stock sub.

its normal when you turn up the volume but if you want to make it sure just check and see the subwoofer first for any damage.
@@geefamz7172 like the body of the car has buzz when the bass kicks or the sub has buss when the bass kicks?
@@mitsulancer91 when the bass hits, the car will definitely vibrate and its normal! to lessen that buzz you were saying is that you have to install a sound deadener around the speaker or on your car doors.

Just put in a skar sdr 12 dual coil 4 ohm sub with a pioneer 1000w single channel. It's in the bridged setting and it hits hard and hits the lows awesome

You mean the dual 4 ohm voice coil sub. As much as I’d like to tell but Its a lot to explain here. I suggest to check out on other youtube videos on how to wire a dual 4 ohm voice coil sub.

It would have to be cut out an drilled in if I did that. Would you recommend something like that? Having the sub right there in that area doesn’t give much rattling??

Im sure I replaced the oem subwoofer with an aftermarket sub. I don’t know about subwoofer replacing with a speaker. 🤷♂️

Nice video, I don't think I'd have the patience to go through all that. I think it would be helpful if you were to be more specific as to what kind of 10th Gen Civic this is (year, trim, coupe/sedan, country). Parts and procedures can vary significantly based on those factors.
