I love the energy Joe Joyrider! Dont let the mokeys throw poo at you. Be safe, sail fast, have fun
That poo just keeps coming!
Swedish Johnny knows the winner takes it all. Good luck and may Poseidon be with you always.
Ha! Yes, Thanks
Good effort guys. Super compelling to watch!
Glad you enjoyed it!
A great video! Very exciting! Good luck from the Center of Canada.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good Warm up, Best of luck for the Racing proper; looking forward to watch on here.
Thanks 👍
So glad to see you guys racing on Lake Como, Italy 😃👍I will be on the edge of my seat waiting for each installment, rooting for you to dominate. Good luck and have fun Joe and Johnny 🫡 GO GO GO
Beautiful spot BTW 👌
Thanks. We'll be pushing!
Thx for sharing. Would be great if you could provide some insights into your race tactics ( when and why do you decide to tack or gybe, what is a typical course to follow or position at the start line, how is wind and windgust impacting your planned course direction)….
I would love to do that if I felt a bit better informed myself. Our lake strategy is letting us down.
Love it!
Cranking!
Great footage guys good luck!
Thanks so much!
some pretty gangsta mark roundings there :D
i'm glad that you clocked them! Drive it like you stole it!!
Good luck guys!! Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Thanks. More to come
Absolutely incredible sailing out there, crew! 🌊⛵Here's to many more thrilling rides and victories ahead. Keep riding the waves like the masters you are! 🌟
More to come!
Loved it Joe! ... absolutely pure dead brilliant, so it was! Best of luck for the rest of the Championships!
Thanks Alistair!
Stay focused and have a ball! No one gets a biscuit without stirring the pot! Thanks for sharing
We're definitely stirring the pot!!
Nice one Team Joyrider TV. We've just come back from Sligo doing the Mirror Worlds, took the win in the practise race and a nice 9th overall! Good luck for the rest of the Worlds.
Congratulations. I also stared in Mirrors!
You might consider the 'trim' of your boat. (Not sail trim). The most friction is from your rudder section, there fore, the more of the rudders you can keep clear of the water, the less friction you develop. Crew weight distribution and the weight of the skipper are key in this equation.
I've been told by Mr Trigonis that optimal on the windward legs is for the trim as we have been using - this is to get lift from the rudders as well as the centreboards
I'm so excited about this. You two will take it.
Gosh i hope so.
Hi Joe & Johnny,
Good to see you have the T all qued up nicely...big difference form 3 years ago! She looks good, proper and fast!Your warm up race you had some moments of good speed and gain....on those gusts, Johnny pull hard on the down haul of the main and you'll get a boost of speed. If done correctly with good timing and the right amount of sheeting you will feel the boat surge ahead and not lift the hull as much!....go get em! ....wish we were there too! Not fighting fires in British Columbia trying to keep the ashes and embers off the T!!
Thanks for the tips.
All the best wishes fighting fires.
Practice makes... perfect! Go Joe!
I hope so...
Yeah take the wind from Mount Olympus with you .... 😂
I hope so!!
Good luck guys!
Thanks!
Best of Luck Joe!!!! Big Fan!
Thanks!
Looking good out there guys. Look forward to the real race. Johnny being on the leeward side with the spinnaker threw me off. Is that to keep the hul flying?
Yes, when the wind is a bit light - to get deeper.
...beans... ...goose...
...dogs of chains... guys- wish You good luck and enjoy the Sailing and the Pasta
Thanks Max - the goose will be cooked!
Good luck I just sailed on my first Hobie a Hobie wave and they are so much fun especially because the first boat I rode was a sunfish. I really want to own one but not sure Wich Hobie to get under 2k dollars used
Hobie 16 would be the obvious choice - more boats available.
Of course the Hobie 16 is the everpresent fun boat of choice.
But I am a huge fan of the Tiger, and as they are not built anymore, they should also be rather cheap.
It looks way more fearsome than a 16, but it can be managed.
- when you think you can handle 40 kg more (185 instead of 145 kg). It is way more of a handful to handle.
- you take care for pulling the daggerboards up
- a 16 can be pulled up on the beach - pretty much no go for a Tiger.
- For uprighting, you need a crew weight of 150+ kg or so, or a huge bag (the green one Joe tried was mine)
- it is more complex, so more can break. And some spare parts might get harder to get, while 16 parts are still produced.
- for that, you get more volume, you can get 3 or even 4 people on it in decent wind.
- the Tiger tacks better because of the daggerboards.
- with a self-tacking jib (can also be added later), you practically do not have to care about the jib
- in the beginning you just forget the spinnaker until you feel comfortable, but then downwind is the course that is fun.
- the 16 is probably a little faster halfwind in high winds, but the Tiger needs less wind to start working and is better against the wind (and under spinnaker downwind)
So, better make a list of what you want to do, short term and long term, before you decide. Also, which boats are around where you are, it is more fun and you get better advice when you have the same boat. What is your location, how much wind, from what direction (i.e. which is the prevailing course), and so on.
I am so to speak Joe's nerdy, babbling nemesis - Joe can do that all by mere feeling, I am the one who has to think everything through before I get it.
Since more than a quarter of a century Joe has to get along with me ;-))
Nice race
Not the best but lessons were learnt.
Trigonis is there 😊😊👍👍👍 hard staff 😊
Lots of good sailors.
@@JoyriderTV pity we can't see the results?
@@frbo323 I've posted the results here:

@@JoyriderTV oh nice 👍👍👍👍
Give it the beans and bring home the biscuits! Fran Stockholm, lycka till Jon!
You guys look in top form.
Please elaborate on the 'tiller extension out the back'.
As it sounds - just chuck it off the back and steer from the connecting bar!
@@JoyriderTV 🤦♂
Greetings to Swedish! Does he still have my red shoes - for dancing out the other boats?
Boat looks good... Johnny almost hiking out on the lee side downwind is interesting.
Jon says the shoes lasted a whole season. But now gone
@@JoyriderTV That was the idea. Good luck!
Absolutely fabulous these camera view, where is it fixed?

@@JoyriderTV Despite this, there is war in my country. Despite the fact that I live in the front-line city of Zaporozhye. I will continue to restore my Tornado. And I hope that she will touch the water after many years on the shore. In Ukraine, according to my information, there are up to 10 living Tornadoes left, together with mine
I really wish you the best. Good luck with restoring your boat.
Hopefully in the future we can meet at a regatta.@@user-ts9xg4zl3d
