    This is great stuff. I would just ask that you make the video a little louder because I have the volume turned all the way up and can barely hear it

      Audio has been my biggest challenge but will improve it as soon as I can.

      Alec Baulding great video, just wish I could hear it. Seems like that little tripod mic is hurting more than helping the audio. It got louder around 8:30min. I feel like a normal iPhone would be able to capture the audio better :/ Hope you can figure something out because you have great content, thanks!

    I love the mantis guard. It is a super awesome variant of the de la riva and reverse de la riva as it gives you super secure control of an ankle and can off balance the opponent so easily

    Just watched your guard recomposition instructional and loved it. Any advice on getting into RDLR guard off guard recomposition? Seems a little trickier than the standard DLR. Thanks Alec, hope you put out another BJJ fanatics instructional soon.

      I like to use the rdl hook leg to fish for my opponents leg and pull them to me if that makes any sense. I have beginner level instructional on reverse de la Riva at reversedelariva.com

      @@AlecBaulding One year later lol ... what kind of guard do you like to work into off of reverse de la riva if your training partner kneels to the ground?

    Hi great video! I was drilling this and I understand to block the left leg so your partner doesn't backstep (7:55), but my partner was dropping his right hip to the ground so that he was on his butt and able to face me. How do I deal with this?

    • @AlecBaulding
      @AlecBaulding  4 роки тому

      You can keep the rdl grip and try to come up for a knee slice. I will often use that position to start attacking my partner legs or start working like crab ride/x-guard entries. If that makes any sense.

      @@AlecBaulding yes totally makes sense! I've been ending up in like a knee cut type of position.
